I went to Rebel Sports last night and they had 20% OFF everything for NRMA members, would of been sweet to buy the Nomis's. But they are having a 10 day Blitz sale so it might be worth checking out to see if they are on sale.
Unfortunatly Rebel have held off the HK07s until this 10 day blitz sale is over, wandered down to rebel they have the stock out the back but are not putting them on the shop floor until the sale is over oh well :< you can still get normal nomis for 30% off .

to all nomis users- are most of you thinking its more worth it to get the wet control? ive heard the dry controls chip and stuff..i wouldnt be playing much in wet with these as i have world cups..but the red spraks on soccer.com are looking nice

it doesn't really chip.. i'll get around to posting pics of my sparks sometime.
i'd get the wet control just because i find it does help control the ball a little better

I bought a pair of Nomis Glove's today, they are the most comfortable boots i have ever worn

they feel great so far, but i havent really tested them just walking around the house with them on. Although im usually a size 13, but they were way to big, so I got size 12's.

hey michael has anyone had any problems with the strap that keeps the tougue down on the spark and glove? cos i know the predator line is very poor for its straps, keep snaping etc
vanpersie17
Oct 1 2006, 01:04 AM
The strap on the glove is about double the width of the absolute strap and streches more. it feels stronger than the predators one aswell. Hope i could help

Yeah one of the first thing I noticed about the straps was it was really tight. Sometimes I struggle to wrap the strap round the front of the boot!

oh good so it is stronger! i thought it was anyway but had to make sure cos i hate having it flap around when they snap! as soon as i get my HK07s ill post some Personal pics in my boots

I bought the all-black Glove FG (my 2nd pair) and the Glove turf today.
I found it difficult to decide on the size of the Glove turf. I tried on a UK 8.5 which I felt was a bit loose at the back of the foot. I tried on a UK 8 and it was too tight. I took the UK 8.5 in the end.
Anyone else with similar experiences?
Edit - fixed the loose fit problem. All I had to do was to change the insoles to the extra set of flat ones!

Great work again

Nomis's popularity is really starting to pick up quickly. Are Nomis going to make kits as well or stay with making boots? Because it would be awesome to have a Nomis kit in the A-league, coz IMO the reebok kits could look a lot better

If by that you mean they're crap then id have to agree. I also hate how ALL the away kits are white. No imagination.
Its wierd tho, the nt is sponsored by nike, the a league has its own custom aerow II but all the kits are made by reebok.

I may play with the extra insoles just to see what the difference is though.

Just out of interest, how many people here have Nomis boots, and if so, which ones and what position do you play? I'm pretty tempted to hop on the Nomis boat for next season's boots...even though I bought Absolutes and Vapor III this season.. :S Oh and I'm a striker and speed is my biggest advantage.
So if you guys can answer the following, it'll help very much!

1. Position you play for your club,
2. The model of your Nomis boots
A pattern of preference might arise from this ehhehe

Cheers fellas

Glove FG
Here in Ohio, there wouldn't be much opportunity to wear a Dry Control shoe lol. This is why I chose the Glove, at least 50% of our games have been played on wet pitches. The Glove performs amazingly in wet conditions, and even in the dry has much better touch than any boot I had previously experienced. Traction is nearly perfect in anything up to about 2 inches of mud.

These boots are arguably the best leather boots I've had, and I have tried out lots. Extremely comfortable. 100% waterproof and the traction is good. Not sure how much the grip thing works but if it does it's a bonus.

Boot : Glove SG
Positions : CB/WB/DM
They've done me well so far, I go in for alot of tackles so they are a bit thin in terms of protection however it's a fair trade off since they are extremely light for when I go on runs out of our own half. We hardly ever play in wet conditions, most games are called off in order to protect the ground if it has rained heavily overnight.

For me, these boots have everything you could want from a soccer boot. They aren't heavy and definantly don't slow you down. The most comfortable boot i've worn easily, and i've worn mania's, absolutes, vapors and T90's. Also the touch on the ball is excellent.... in other words, i'd recomend them

UK. I checked your website and they are available to buy, just couldnt see if I could purchase them without the Kewel7 Embroidery. Or a pair of sparks in white. Or are there plans to release white sparks(minus player embroidery) in the near future?
From the reviews they seem a great boot, and I may purchase them as my next FG boot in about 6-9 months.
Cheers for help mate.

The UK site boots are currently shipped from Australia. You would be able to find those boots instore in the UK without Kewell's name on. Drop an email to nomis@nomissports.co.uk and ask them for your nearest stockist of those boots. They may even be able to sell to you directly.
Thanks

Sorry, the women's range don't go as high as 13 (That's a big foot!) - I believe it is size 9 or 10US.
Blue boots... well I have already posted the blue/white instinct, and you'll just have to wait and see (ie so will I!)
Dual control is an improved Dry Control. Many people don't realise that the current dry control boots offer better grip in the wet than any other leather boot (just don't increase in grip like the Wet Control), so the techies improved it to be even better in the wet and so changed it to Dual Control.
Got a new boot to post later today... Australians are going to love it!
Thanks

R9, yeah i've got a pair of sparks but I wanted to try a pair of the women's boots. I hope these new boots are the green and gold. BTW, does anyone know why the wet control boots are all mainly black but the dry control boots can be various colours? I'm guessing it's something to do with the material.

2.) Are they dry or dual control
3.) When will they go on sale
That's all for now.
