Not fakes. They are the silver/black SG Flares. They must be stocked in the UK, not in Australia. Let me see if i have any pics...

This is the only pic I have of an original FG sample. You can see how much the leather has improved from sample to final production.

The heel on the ebay pics looks really high. IS that part of the raised heel thats supposed to help you get in better form for sprinting?

Why only instinct and flares? Have you considered other models, glove, spark, etc.? I ordered a pair of sparks because they are wider than the instincts. If you have wider feet, I've been told the glove and spark are better choices than the instinct/flares.

Crofty has a pair of sonics? I think.
AND:
I just received my Nomis Sparks !!! Yellow/Black, fg. They are so comfortable. The second I put my foot in it felt like a glove-literally. The control leather is great, and the ball doesn't stick as much as I thought...I also have only worn it around the house, so I don't really know yet... An unexpected thing is that the tounge under the laces is made out of an interesting material...sort of like foam, the surface reminds me of the long stick lifeguards have. The inside of the boot looked a little hard at first, but it is super supportive and unbelievably comfortable!! Its great to have the spare set of laces, orthotic inserts ( I wear orthotics when injured) and the boot bag. Terrific so far!!!

My Sparks are size 8.5 U.S Mens. I wear a size 9 U.S. in Nike Legends. Compared to my Legends (my only other boot I can wear nowadays that I can compare to) the Nomis' are smaller, but do not feel half a size smaller. The heel and midfoot is snugger than the legends because of the better shaped insole, but the toe area is a little larger and more comfortable in the Nomis Sparks. I would definately recommend one half a size smaller U.S. from most other boots. They are very comfortable, fit me much better than Adidas Predators (from what I tried on at the store)

hey guys!
finally got my HK07s, love em!
first thing i did was put in the shorter shoelaces, theyre perfect lol
great boots
anyway i got a question ...
word on the street is the HK10s have a different kind of leather to the HK07s, and the booster cloths are only for the HK10s
id never heard anything like it before.. and well its sounds like bullshit
thing is the bloke that told me is a shoe distributerererer guy or wateva, so yeah im confused... anyway
my bro also got his HK10s, man they stand out lol
thanks hellonomis for all ur help

Jan 18 2007, 05:29 AM
That's very odd, as far as I am aware it is exactly the same leather - K-Leather on the Hk07 and the Hk10. The booster/cleaning cloths can be used on any leather boot - obviously the wet leather booster cloth is designed for the wet control boots. The booster cloths will shortly be sold as general accessories too.

In response to what comes in a with Nomis Sparks, I am not sure about the ones they ship out now. I think it is safe to assume my sparks have been sitting at the soccer.com warehouse for a while, but I got them with these accesories: Little kangaroo shaped kangaroo leather keychain thing (pointless), A very small leaflet with no information I haven't known, a pair of flat insoles to accomodate orthotics ( I think), and a pair of shorter laces. This all comes packaged in a clear plastic shoe bag.

well for gloves and sparks you need to buy half a size smaller and you can still get from soccer.com or try ebay.

Jan 18 2007, 11:36 PM
Well I just had my first training with my Sparks...Nearly perfect. A little tight but it got better as practice went on. One weird observation that is just a little feeling in my heel: there is barely any padding in the back top part of the heel, but a lot of padding on the sides of the ankle. A little weird. I think I will either try another practice or double sock, because other than that these shoes are perfect!!
P.S. ZeFrenchman I highly doubt you could find them for significantly less than full price. The cheapest I've seen the sparks and gloves was 180-ish, but on ebay you could find them at 150-160, but then shipping might be more.

another thing, it was raining and shit, ground was pretty wet, after the game there was a little bit of mud on the bottom of the boots, im sure it would be less than everyone else though.. didnt think to compare at the time lol

Yeah, good. I think i probably bought them a half size big, they fit pretty huge. I'll deal with it tho. Im getting used to the extra grip, when you hit it right on the control bits you get massive amounts of spin and you have to re-think your aiming. Its worth it when your figure it out tho. Im pretty sure they're bovine/calf leather but its pretty good stuff and is conforming to my feet pretty well. For sure k is better but not that much better if you know what i mean...

To tell the truth, I have the sparks and the grip isn't much of a difference for me. The only time it really makes a difference is when you try to bend the ball on say a dead-ball. Other than that it just makes it easier to kick. I haven't found myself having to rethink my aim though
Crofty
Jan 22 2007, 02:58 AM
Thats what i mean, when you try to bend it it bends more than standard boots. So if youre going top left (with your right foot) you have to start it more to the right. Thats all. You get used to it tho.

I'm predominantly right footed & can curl a ball both ways fairly easily. Yesterday we decided to put this Nomis leather technology to the "non-scientific but beats working" test. So you know it's worth quoting! I took a few pairs of boots: Adidas synthethic, Umbro EliteX, Puma vKons & my HK07s.
On a sunny, still day we agreed that 7 strikes with each boot would be a fair comparison. The target was to curl a ball in from the corner over the crossbar/between the poles of league posts. The Adidas & Puma were rather hit & miss, 2 & 3 respectively . The vKons I've not worn much but still. The Umbros are a bit of a fave & gave quite a bit more swing than the other two. 5/7. The Sparks I hit 6/7 straight away. Now this IMO wasn't a great difference compared to the Umbros. BUT where I did think there was a marked difference was the distance I could push the ball out with the Sparks. It was around 4-8 foot over the others. Tried the first 2 pairs again in case it was more practice then substance getting them over. I went 3 & 3 that time. Twas then I thought about hitting around a wall on a penalty so thats a test for next time. Once we "borrow" some otto bins...
I realize this will mean nada to everyone but I'm bored & still in love with my HKs...

Bit of a rumour that Nomis products (well some at least) will take a dip in price around late April/May. Hmmm, might have 2 pairs this year

Anyone heard anything about that fabled Nomis DVD yet? I'm going to stick with this till I know something!

Went to Rebelsport today, saw the old and the new (white/black dual control) version of Sparks. The old yellow/black (only dry control) ones felt softer for some reason hmm...
they didn't have HK7's which was disappointing, but do they fit the same??
Also the heel does slip a little bit even though I tried on a perfect fitting size.
Or should i have tried a tighter size (half size smaller) since they'll stretch?
