I am still confused with the currency change from AU to US..is there any way that the shopnomis site will know that I want to pay in US dollars? and then will it show the actual price in US

If they show the prices in $AU just convert the price using a currency converter site like http://www.xe.com/ucc/. It doesn't matter what currency you pay in, they will just take the $AU equivalent.

I'm guessing a fair few of you people in this thread own a pair of Nomis'. What's your overall opinion on them as far as touch, comfort, weight, kicking, etc goes? I was in Rebel Sport looking at a few pairs (I didn't try them on) and I have to say the outside of them just feels perfect for touch... especially that "Glove" model.
Midfielder 11
so it will automatically know that i am paying american then?

oh and my friends have the nomis sparks and absolutely love them..they are said to be "the most comfortable cleats ever" and i heard they give you great power with your shot. They can give good swerve too and that would make sense due to the fact that simon spirrow helped create the nomis line. first touch is great with the sparks and gloves and i have tried my friends so its coming from me...

What list?

There is a form styled bit on the Indoor shoes page in the shop that you put your details in & it is going to put them on a list that will keep you updated on the progress of the shoes. It hasn't accepted my details for around about 4-6 weeks, & I was told it would be fixed.

Sorry AH02, I got the Turf & Indoor stuff mixed up.

Hmm, no one told me about that! As I'm the one who would fix it seems odd no-one told me. We are still receiving some indoor submissions so it is working for some people!!

No idea then. I keep getting a page that says "Sorry, page is temporarily unavailable. Try again later.Sorry, page is temporarily unavailable. Try again later.." I think it was the accountant/accounts manager something like that (Eleanor maybe?) & she said she would pass it on & get something done about it.

New turf range and indoor range (hot!!) launching mid 2007.

Cheers mate, any idea on what colourways/models are being released or is it too early to tell? Also, any idea if the soleplate will be different? When looking at the pictures, it seems that Nomis' turf studs are quite small.

Hi all,
I have just been reading through some of the posts and i have been looking into getting a pair of nomis. I was just wandering what people think of the Magnet's SG? I havn't seen many reviews for them and it sounds like people are loving all the other models and i just wanted to know what the revies on the Magnet's are?
Thankyou
arrrpirates
I bought a pair of Gloves recently and after wearing them for a bit, I found that they were too small (Both my big toe toe nails are now half black from that). Luckily I was able to return them though.

Anyway, I was looking in the shops the other day, and I saw a pair of dual control instincts. Are these really out? Or did my eyes deceive me? I'm planning on going back there tomorrow to get either those, or the dual control sparks.

My big question though is this, do the instincts/flares provide a much better shooting surface as the lace cover sits flush with the boot? Or is it basically the same as the sparks? And...are the new white/black sparks just the HK07s, but without the HK badging? So would they have midsole wedges? Thanks

Oh yeah, and you guys should update your website with the new models! thumbsup.gif

Yes, Dual Control instincts should be out now. Can't answer your question about the shooting surface as it might be a personal opinion decision. The White/Black Sparks do not have the midsole wedge which is in the HK07 boot.

Yep, website updates are on the way... Just keep get given "priority" stuff to do which gets in the way!!

Oh and booster cloths will imminently be available on shopnomis.com

Thanks for the quick reply. What are the other differences between the white/black sparks and the HK07/10s besides the midsole wedge? And which boots come with the DVDs?

im pretty sure that the black/white dual control spark is exactly the same as the HK07, except it doesn't have the midsoul wedge, and instead of harry kewel, it says dual control... don't think there are any other differences apart from that
arrrpirates
So will Kewell wear the HK07 when he plays? Or does he too just wear the normal sparks tongue.gif

Do all of the FG boots have rubber studs? Or do some have plastic ones? Which last longer?

Yes he should be wearing the HK07 boot when he plays. The Spark MS, which is the HK07 without the HK name/number on it can also be spotted on a few players - I have seen them on Lua Lua's feet and Omar, the captain of the UAE team.

All the FG boots have a dual density stud - A bit more info on FG sole plates here.

And the obvious one - it's black and white. Not red and white. whistling.gif

Too early to say I'm afraid. I have seen initial options and you can rest assured that they look good! The turf and indoor do have new soleplates than current models. There is also a new boot coming out for playing on synthetic and ash surfaces.

Dual.. I remember reading that they've improved the dry control's ability in wet conditions and hence was more justified to call it "Dual" control.

Well I ended up getting a pair of HK07s (lovely boots!) since the store didnt have instincts in my size. Brought them home, and stupid sportsco had the pricing sticker stuck on the insole, so when I pulled it off a bit, the whole bloody "Kewell" AND the number "7" come off with it. The lace cover's elastic band seemed to be extremely loose as well (is that normal?) Anyway, they don't seem to be in top nick (looks like quite a few people have tried them on already, so I'm going to take them back.

Are the Spark MS the new sparks? That is, are those just the white/black ones? Or do they also have a midsole wedge?

It sooooo frustrates me when stores stick stickers on goods which don't peel off easily. The lace cover band should be quite tight so you actually have to stretch it over the front of the boot to secure it in place. As these are designed to take lots of use, it would seem that you have indeed been given a pair that has had excessive "try ons". I would take them back and ask for a non-display pair.

The Spark MS are the Sparlk HK07 without the HK branding. So they feature the midsole wedge. The Black/White Sparks are standard Sparks without the midsole.
arrrpirates
Yeah, I asked them for a non-display pair, but unfortunately they didn't have any. Are the Spark MSes currently on the market?

Another thing I noticed, are the HK10s just the standard sparks, whilst the HK07s are the spark MSes?

The Spark MS actaully arrive at Nomis HQ at 4.30am tomorrow. Just go into any Nomis stockist (Rebel/Sportspower/Athlete's foot/Soccer specialist store etc) and ask them if they can order you one in. They would be delighted for your business! If the store requests it, it will probably be back with them within a day or so.

Alternatively you can wait a week or two and buy them through shopnomis.com

Dual control is simply an improved version of dry control, so it has increased grip in the wet. However, this grip is still not as good as the wet control boots in the wet. The MS model (I believe) is the Spark with the midsole section, which is the raised heel.

What colours are the Spark MSes coming in? And have you got any pictures hello_nomis?
Midfielder 11
I just checked the shopnomis.com website and realized that the Control Freaks packages were all sold out. I want to become a Control Freak but the color choices are also limited. Will there be any new color packages offered for that? Thanks.

Hey guys I just had my first practice in heavy rain with my sparks. To my dissapointment, the water absorption is just like any other leather shoe. Maybe the leather itself doesn't absorb as much, but through the seams, stiching, etc., eventually the foot will still get soaked thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif

Don't forget about the hole where you put your foot in, water might actually be able to get in through there, unless you use a silicon gun.

You OBVIOUSLY didnt read the manual. It clearly states that in heavy rain, you must place a plastic bag firmly around your Nomis boots and tape the ends up.

You are a silly sod.

What I meant is in the same rain I think even my air legends stayed drier.

Hey Hello Nomis, about the turfs again smile.gif. You have got me excited over the prospect of a new stud system in the turfs and because you said they were nice, I have to seriously re-think my options. At the moment we are selling our house and as a treat, when we do, my mam said she'd give me some money for some new boots. I was thinking of getting some Mundial Teams again because they were very comfy and the studs were big so I'd never slip.

You say you have seen what the stud system looks like, can you tell me if it is the sort of length of Nike's:

Adidas':

Puma's:

Or Mundial Teams:

Also, can you tell me if it is a completely different boot or a turf version of a current boot (Instinct/Flare Sonic/Striker)? If it will be a completely new boot, will it feature Wet Control (The technology that I am looking for - ideally)?

Is there any plans to be able to customise (embroid) your boots through shopnomis? I saw that sportsshoes.com will customise Nomis Glove Tfs so I thought I'd ask.

And finally, is there any idea of a release date for the turfs as of yet or is it just scheduled for mid 2007?

Thankyou biggrin.gif

hey hello nomis.. i just got a copy of the rebel sport junk mail.. and it seems that the prices have gone up on the nomis boots O_O. eg. the gloves have gone from $260 to $290 on the junk mail. nine pincers have gone from $200 to $230. whats with the price jump there do you know? because shopnomis.com still lists them with the old prices.

oh and also is it possible to get The Spark HK10 (Yellow/Green) without kewell 10 written on it? Coz i just want to get those colours to match my socceroos jersey and also because i reckon they look great. but id prefer not to have kewell 10 on em tongue.gif

I am an old hack trying to haul my ageing body around suburban grounds of a weekend. The glory days are long gone and managing 90 mins is kind of a minor victory for me regardless of the result. that said I am pretty keen on getting a set of these incredible boots. i tried a pair on in Rebel Sport and I've read all of the stuff here and elsewhere. i dont really have any other expensive vices so a few $$ on some footy boots is OK in my books.

Now the question for those in the know. I have had too many injuries over the years to list here, achilles reattachments, knee reconstructions etc etc. Comfort, fit and the ability7 to support my foot through a game whilst still giving me the needed touch on the ball are what I am looking for. I've tried Asics Lethal's etc and whilst they are great to cushion your foot they feel like kicking a ball wearing clown feet!! Which of the Nomis boots would be best for somebody with suspect achilles and maybe knees. i noticed one of the Spark models had a midsole wedge thingo, what is that and what could it do for me.

I also noticed the instinct model has a raised bit at the heel. For many of you this will mean you can sprint faster, for me it might mean that I have less chance of re-snapping my shortened achilles.

I noticed that Harry Kewell selected these boots largely as a support for his damaged legs etc.

Any help appreciated because I'll be buying a pair of one kind or another tomorrow night!! (leaning towards sparks!!)

I'm not sure about the ongoing status of new Control Freak applications. If there was a new application period then there would have to be a different boot choice as the Blue Wave Spark is not in the 2007 range.

I'm not sure if I am allowed to release further info on these products at the moment. I need to check with Simon on his return from Europe. I have also only seen concept drawings so the final versions may be slightly different.

No customisation yet...

I think the indoors are scheduled for May-June so probably around that time.

Yes, as I previously mentioned prices in 07 were set to rise. This is mainly due to the addition of the nomud technology on most of the range now. The shop is in the process of being updated - it shows last years prices as it has last years shoes on it at the moment.

The Spark HK10 doesn't come without the HK on it. There is a HK07 in green/white which doesn't have the HK stuff on it.
