I haven't got my Nomis yet, although I ordered them on Saturday night and it says delivery is between 3-5 days... so they should come tomorrow or Friday-if not then I'll be contacting the guy.

Feeling is horrible? Define horrible. Just how many of the 4hrs & 17mins that you owned them before you advertised on Ebay did you play in them? I dont mean just walk around in front of a mirror seeing if they matched your fave skirt but actually playing in them? This isn't a shot at you but for someone who has supposedly owned so many boots you are, to me, probably the least qualified to offer an opinion as you never wear them for any reasonable amount of time.

I definantely agree, idk how anyone can say that Nomis boots feel "Horrible" I've worn most of the top models of nike, adidas and umbro and Nomis are by the far the best and most comfortable boots i've worn.
The new colourways are up on the site, the sparks have gone up 2 $300 and the instincts have gone up to $320 though

I just got red/white Sparks SG for £45 (that's inc. delivery)
EDIT: my Nomis are 'Dry Control' but does this mean I shouldn't wear them in wet conditions because it'll bugger them up? or are they just suited better to dry conditions but still suitable in the wet.
vanpersie17
Mar 26 2007, 01:39 AM
Nah it doesnt really matter, its just that it would have more grip in the dry and wet control would have stronger grip in the wet so basically nah you wont wreck them if u wear them in the wet..

Thinking about getting some nine pincers because they're in my price range, are they a good pair of boots? or would i be better of saving up some more and going for the instinct, because this is my favourite looks wise. Is there a lot of differences in performance between the models?

I just got my black/white Instincts and I had to get a 9 US instead of a 10.5 because of the extremely flat heel. Everything else feels fine and it is the most comfortable boot EVER!

I've noticed a lot of people mentioning the fact that Nomis boots are flat on the heel, and in pictures it looks like the rear blades are the same length as the front ones. As a goalkeeper I'm unsure about this as I like a raised heel to help me keep my weight forward and my balance on my toes. Can anyone comment on this?
Midfielder 11
Mar 27 2007, 06:53 PM
Its not that the flat heel is uncomfortable, I just had to go down another half size than the reccomended 1 size smaller. The outsole is raised but the heel seems to be flat, idk....its not that big of a deal to me and I wouldn't worry about it...

I had the same problem with the heels seeming very flat and signficant slipping, went a half size smaller where rest of foot was now very tight but still same problem in heel, I found this product helped:
http://www.rpmerleon.com/ishop/product_inf.../886?osCsid=a82But in end, the heel was a hassle and I didn't feel any performance enhancement over my abs, so switched back, expensive lesson

I'm a size 11 in most boots but i've heard for nomis boots you should get a size smaller and im thinking of getting the nine pincers so should i get 10? 10.5? or just get 11? Thanks
Midfielder 11
Mar 28 2007, 05:43 PM
On the shopnomis.com site, it doesn't recommend sizes for the Nine Pincer but at most a half size smaller than you are. The Flare and Instincts should be a size smaller but not the Nine Pincer.

I just ordered a pair of the instincts and they are definitely a full size almost 1 1/2 sizes bigger than what I normally wear. If you go to the actual nomis online website - www.shopnomis.com - and go through the motions of buying the shoes you want, thet website will actually give you sizing advice.

Red,
Please let us know what you think of the instincts, fit, comfort, use, etc. I think this is the boot I am looking at to replace my Puma Kings with as I am tired as hell of the tongue flap nonsense. I have not seen a review of these boots from real world use.
Cheers!

I own the Instincts and they are the most comfortable cleat I have tried and I have tried all the top brands (nike, puma, adidas, umbro, ect.) The durability with these is surprisingly good and the leather makes for a snug fit. The low heel isn't an issue, just buy another half size smaller (1 1/2 sizes smaller total) than what you would regularly wear. The touch is AMAZING and it really is noticeable..I think they are more narrow than the Sparks and Glove if that helps.

I definitely agree. Tried the instincts on tonight and they do fit rather narrow, but once you have had them on for a while they fit great. I will be using them during training Friday and Saturday and I will post a review Saturday night. I just cannot decide if I want to stick with these or go for the sparks. I really want to see if these are better than my wave shinkens, konstrukts or v1.06's.

Do the instincts stretch much? I have some tightness around the ball of the foot and I was curios to see if these will stretch out at all. Also, does the heel ever get tighter? For a $250 boot, I just don't get that "wow" feeling right out of the box. Thanks.

I hate flat heels! It's the same on my Hummels so I have to wear 2 pair of socks and tie them extremely hard!

Otherwise, really great boots!

for some strange reason when getting my flares, I read 'Raised heel for better sprint positioning' as a helpful feature not 'Raised heel to feel like your foot is coming out the boot' and no mention of part of creating this effect is giving the boot a flat heel

You need a half size smaller with the gloves/sparks. A whole size smaller with the instincts/flares. Something like that. I'd wait for a response from Hello Nomis first though.

For what it is worth, I typically where a size 9 US in adidas - which I believe runs a 1/2 size smaller than nike. A size 8 US in the sparks fits perfectly - but i had to go a 7.5 US in the instincts. The sparks are definitely a better boot.
