I tend to get shin splints whenever I try to play more than once or twice a week. I wear custom orthodics and noticed that the Nine Pincer, The Spark, and the Magnet all claim to have a flat board lasted midsole which will allow orthodics to be easily worn with the boots. Does anyone know if this means I should stay away from the Instincts which do not claim to have this feature.
Is there anyone here who has also had problems with shin splints and can recommend a pair of cleats either Nomis or otherwise which would be the best for helping to prevent them. Thanks.
hey i think it just means that those boots allow the use of a custom orthodic
cuz a lot of the boot out there have thier own special shaped insole which makes the use of a custom orthodic difficult. The fit of the insole gets messed up (it'll be pretty hard getting your orthodic into a pair of vapors)
Anyways I have a pair of superfeet in my gloves and my sparks and they work and fit great.
I used to have shinsplints too and its no fun.
I'm not saying that these nomis boots are going to solve all your problems but they did help with mine
and if you cant find a pair of nomis in your area copas are pretty good too

Here's where im interested, im a huge fan of GREEN yes green boots beacuse my kit is primarily green. I have had the Green Puma V1's and Field Green Tunits but....i have a wide foot and also wear orthotics which means i havnt been able to wear either boot and have ended up selling them on a week or two later..........anyway, im wondering is there any GREEN Nomis boots and what kind of a fi would i get from them??
Anyone with a pair of preds and nomis be able to tell me if they fir quiet similarlly,
Thanks in advance
http://www.shopnomis.com/ There are your colours.
I have a broad foot & found the Spark MS to be fairly tight at first but after a few wears to be the best boots I have ever owned. Great touch & great comfort, you cant ask for much more. I wont buy into power & swerve simply because thats skill based & not a product gimmick.
I can hardly get my foot into Vaps, my King Execs are fine for width but not in the same quality bracket as my Sparks. My Manias are half a size to small so wouldnt be fair to compare them to the Nomis fit. Your best bet though is to try them on if possible.

But, at my school, they water the fields way too much and i know that the wet control would be perfect for my field. Any advice?

I'm sure soccer.com still stocks Nomis boots and shopnomis.com also ships out to the US (from Australia). If Soccer.com don't stock it - let them know you want it - the more they are badgered the more styles they will hopefully carry!

Two things to say ones a question and one is an idea!
Firstly the question is does anyone know where u can get all black Fg Gloves?? i dont want to get them from Nomis as i would have to pay import tax or whatever on an that would make them very exepensive indeed
On to my idea, Instead of gettin players to endorse nomis products such as harry kewell, why not get Dave Aldred!! As one of the worlds best kicking coaches if he endorses the boots it put some weight behind Nomis. I mention it now as i was reading the other day he has been invited to work with some aussie rules team, the first ever foreginer to do so!

Indeed, Willie, Costigan and Petro. Because Nomis are the official boot licensees does not mean the players are going to wear them - most are still bound by their everyday contracts. Michael Crocker was also going to wear them but he was left out of the squad due to injury.
Petro, who is not sponsored by Nomis, is the first Brisbane Bronco not to wear Nike in the State of Origin - that's a huge achievement for Nomis, trust me!
Here's a quick poster I made up for Nomis:

Oops, that one doesn't have the boots on the bottom - I update that when I can.

The fit is very different between these two models. The Flare is a much narrower fit whereas the Glove is wider. The Glove is also a one piece K-Leather upper so you will get more stretch and molding around your foot.
The Flare has the midsole, so if you are prone to calf and ankle pain, this feature could really help you.
Is this boot for Soccer? If so, I would recommend the Glove. The fit & feel is too good!

I thought it was Petro but he almost always wears the Red/White T90s, nice pick up there. St George I noticed have a couple running around in the Red/White & I'm spotting the Black/White around the way. Good to see. Except now my next pair will no doubt cost an absoloute shite load more...

Yes, my boots will be for soccer. I have been prone to ankle pain, since i sprained my ankle in November. i actually prefer narrow boots... completely doesnt make sense, because i have a wide foot... but the one thing that turns me away from the flare is that the leather does not look like that on the glove and black pearl. I have the black pearl, and i think that the leather is INCREDIBLE. i just don't wear them too much, because i think that the heel of the shoe is bulky and cumbersome. Is the heel similar on the glove? and why does the leather look different on the flares?

That's strange as there are lots of stores in Brissy - Chermside, Albany Creek, Queen Street Mall, The Gap, Carindale, - loads more. I will ask them to update the stockist list. Try most Athlete Foots, Rebels, Sport Powers and soccer specialists.

Well, I would say that I am pretty impressed with the shoe. I do have a couple of niggling complaints, but don't interpret them too strongly. First, one stitch popped on the outside of my left foot where the stitching met the outsole. It seems like the friction between the outsole and the stitch was just a bit much. There is no other place on the shoe that looks like this condition would happen again, so as long as it stays in check, no problemo. I think the fit, lengthwise, is just about right (1/4" free), but my foot seems to have a little side to side movement in the toe box. It may have been better to buy another half size smaller and let the k-leather do its business. I think I may end up using both insoles to firmup the fit in the toe box, but I'll give it a few more outings before I try that.
The leather is very nice as far as feel of the ball. I felt very confident out the gate and felt the shoe worked well when it came to controlling the ever important first touch. I did feel opponent cleats a bit more than I did in my Kings!!!
Hope this helps.
