Hey. I'm thinking of ordering a pair of Nomis Spark Blackout. Before that, I'd like to know more about the gripping technology of the boots. Does polishing the boots with a shoe wax affect it? the other thing is, are Nomis boots made in Vietnam?

Personally I'd keep wax WELL AWAY from my Sparks. The booster clothes work more than good enough.

Indeed, you should not have to use any conditioners on the leather as the Control Technology will keep the leather soft and supple. In fact, Nomis recommend not to use any conditioner or dubbin as it may effect the technology. Cleaning advice is cold water with soft cloth and of course the cleaning and booster cloths.

Thanx for the quick replies. Can someone here just tell me where, in Queensland, can I get the Booster clothes? My friend is studying in UQ and going back soon. Maybe I can just ask him to grab one for me.

I have to say over the past couple years I've stuck with the main brands such as Puma Adidas and Nike. I used to wear some V series, total 90's and predators. I thought the Absolutes were great and then I got ahold of Vapors and I've been pretty devoted to using them only ever since. Hence having three pairs (5 total but got rid of two) And last week I received my Nomis Instincts. And I have to say first impression, great looking boots. Tried them on and found out they were a absolutely great fit(even though they are size 8.5 and I normally wear a 10 or 10.5

). I've gone to three practices and a small pick up game and have to say they are great. They're comfortable, they're a nice width, kinda remind of a Vapors fit. No pain whatsoever during the first practice unlike Vapors or TUNITs. Taking free kicks with them is a blast as well. I have to say these are an absolutely top class boot and I haven't had any reason or desire to wear my vapors lately, that doesn't mean I still dont love them I do. But I do have a few questions.
1. Why are the laces so freaking long? I have to wrap my laces underneath and over again and then they are only normal length, not short at all. I definitly don't wanna cut the laces either.
2. When will booster cloths be availible for separate purchase?
3. If Nomis know their boots run larger then other why dont they just change all the labels on their boots a size or so up a number? Just an idea. Kinda weird that I'm wearing 8.5 boots, I haven't worn anything 8.5 for like 8 or nine years.

^I agree with number 3. This isn't only true with Nomis, but other boots, especially Copas and k leather boots. Why can't they make the sizing relative? If they know that a 10 wouldn't actually fit a size 10, then why doesn't anyone change it? It's hard for people who don't really know a lot about boots to guess on these as to what size they are.

Yea, cause sometimes i feel bad for the people who don't know, I always try to research a little bit or go to a local store to try them on, but for something like Nomis which isnt availible everywhere. Some people just find a great deal ona boot they want and all of the sudden their boot can slide on and off like a slipper, that would most def. suck

The Spark MS features a Midsole.

I think this has been noted and they are due to be shortened for future productions.

See link above! Think they will also start to be available in retailers with the 07/08 range.

This was the first question I asked. Apparently it is not simple as something to do with the production line in the factory and all the components that go into the construction of the boots.

Yea i guess you cant just go into the factroy tell them to just change it, and if i purchase another Nomis boot, which there is a good chance I will, i'll buy a size and a half smaller and found out that you guys fixed the problem and be screwed. So i guess the best option is to keep it the way it is.

Yup it was somewhat tight fit at first but after like 15 mins its now a great fit. I can take a picture of them right next to my size ten Vapors if you want, they are almost identical in length and width

Jun 23 2007, 11:18 PM
Not really. The toe area was a little tight at first cause I didn't loosen the lower laces cause it was kinda hard to reach but they fit just like brand new vapors minus the tight heel.

I have a blue/white kit and had the yellow sparks. They don't match but I think they looked pretty good! They stand out, but then again, why did Robinho wear yellow vapors with the madrid kit? He still looked sharp
Also, I would have gotten another pair of nomis boots but they warped out of shape and as a result i got a shin splint. Sucks because they were the most amazing shoes I ever had but I guess I used them too much. If I had the option of getting new boots every couple of games like the pros did I would for sure stick with Nomis!

These sparks are great

, the yellow is sharp thou bordering on obnoxious

, leroy lita look

, as someone else mentioned, 1 full size down (as opposed to .5 size I went from absolutes) would probably been perfect but these still fit quite well, super comfortable.
Is there going to continue to be a regular Sparks line? (ie. no MS/raised heel), cause with the raised heel in my flares(thou could be they have different fit from ms spark..), heel slippage was driving me crazie where with the sparks even with them being bigger there is no slippage!

Also, out of curiosity anyone try wet control cloths on dry/dual boots?

Would that do any damage Michael? I'm gonna order some dual control for my sparks but do have some left over cloths from my flares... wonderin if would help if used those on sparks when its wet?
thanks

I was wondering what exactly is "dual control" because 2 of the Sparks say "dual control" while all the others say "dry control" and this confused me, can someone clarify? Also is the HK07 and HK10 the same exact shoe as the Spark MS?(except for saying Harry Kewell on the cleat)
Crofty
Jun 26 2007, 11:40 PM
Ok, dual and dry control are the same thing, just renamed cause people thought they'd be worse in the wet, when they're still better than normal boots.
HK07 is the same as the ms, HK10 is the same as normal sparks. I think this is cause HK10s were designed/made originally for harry to try during the world cup, before nomis had put an midsole in sparks. Later when harry agreed to wear them full time and they made a liverpool version they added the new midsole bit.
Also, dont post here then start a new thread. Just clutters stuff up.

Thanx mate. Answers appreciated.
Just a quick review on the nomis sparks blackout i just bought. WOW!! I wore them for the first time in a friendly match yesterday. I have no doubt it really is an amazing pair of boots!!!

Love it so much!! I did not wear them for the full 90 minutes though because i was initially (well just for a few minutes) wearing the sample pair of Reebok sprintfit (unreleased black colourway) (I have trouble uploading the photo of my sprintfit..can someone just help me sorting this out...it says that the file is just a bit too big..."Upload failed. The file was larger than the available space"....how to make it smaller?Sorry this might be a silly question to ask) that my friend got me off ebay, if im not mistaken. I changed the sprintfit to my Nomis spark blackout due to the blister i got just a few minutes in the first half. Only then I realised that I really should have worn the latter since the beginning ....very2 comfy and quite light...and most importantly, it did not deteriorate my blisters.
Interestingly, I found the boots to be getting lighter and lighter towards the end of the match. Does this have to do with the dry control system that made the boots lighter?
Viva Nomis!!

Thats cause the white/black, white/gold and also black/white/gold have all come out since the change. All the ones released before they changed it are older colourways and hence have the original dry control/grip text. The newer models also have nomud.
