it depends really with the touch and control... there are the wet control, dry control and dual control....so in a sense it depends on the climate that you play in...the Black pearls i have are wet control but its never really been wet enough to see if it makes a difference. The instincts are dual control, which is why they might be more expensive, and they would probably be could for most conditions so if you still have the chance then go for it i'd say, i have a friend in my old team who has them and he loves them.

Also, does anyone know if there is any particular way your meant to clean the boots considering of the special features of the leather?

as far as i'm aware, Dual Control and Dry control are the same thing. it was called Dry Control first, but was later changed to Dual Control because people thought that you could only use the Dry Control boots in dry weather etc

i could be wrong. but in this case, i doubt it tongue.gif

Because I said from the beginning I intended to be impartial and feedback to be genuine etc etc and in giving boots to people may look like I was trying to buy the board! Sorry...

+ also because once one person get free boots and word gets out everyone will want some. Then when everyone gets boots for free theres no one buy them, duh.

Ha ha, but it's more down to the feel of the leather and the ball on the Wet Control leather - very popular. I suppose you could play street soccer in them too?

i suppose you could send me a pair and ill test that for you.

Hi I am looking to buy some new fg boots. At present I wear Predators but I'm looking to get some new boots specifically for women as although my Predators are comfy, they slip at the back.

In the UK there is very little in the way of womens boots & everything i've seen are online. All the reports I've seen about Nomis show that they are excellent boots & very comfortable. Can anyone advise me as to which boots would be best. I've seen the Glove & Spark in womens versions on UK sites. The ground tends to be fairly wet for most of the season but dry some of the time.

Also I've seen on the new Nomis website a new Black pearl & wondered if this is comparable to the Spark & Glove & if it will be available in the UK?

Also is there a store anywear that I can try them on as it becomes a pain to start sending shoes back ( I live in North West London/ Hertfordshire). It says to go down half a size on all the sites but whenever I've gone down in the past the shoes have been too tight.

Thank you,
Trace

so, it seems as though my right spark has finally given up on itself. the delectable tanning job that was on it no longer works at all. i believe its smoother than just any old pair of cleats. which is unfortunate, because when they worked, it would grip the ball and let me do things i wanted with the ball i wouldn't be able to do with any other pair of cleats. now, the ball slips off the boot.. sad.gif left one's still good, but i haven't played in a competitive game in a year, and my left foot skills have gone to hell

Have you tried cleaning with the booster cloth. It might help a little.

Apparently, while some believe that the stickiness is part of the tanning process and within the leather, in my personal experience, the surface technology does wear off over time. If only they have a tacky spray for that.

The nomis are a little like predators, except that the grip does wear off with use while the predators don't as the rubber grips are attached to the upper. Nomis's one piece K leather is quite commendable and offers a pretty good touch. I do like their redesigned nomud outsoles. It may be something you might like to try. Most of Nomis product offerings are good but they can be much better.

Comparing nomis with the latest reincarnation of predators, I think nomis wins in their one piece outsole. I like the predator external heel counter which is great for stability and impact protection but the bottom is quite fragile . The tungsten powder doesn't do sh*t for the player.

>>
To Hello Nomis
What Nomis can do better:
1) Provide a lightweight strong external heel counter.
2) Increase longevity of their surface grip technology.
3) Provide an option on raised heels for Flare and Instinct models. No everyone needs that for sprinting.
4) Soles should be riveted, cemented and stitched to ensure it doesn't separate.
5) Upgrades to Spark, Glove models should've been communicated more effectively. Apparently, alot of the consumers are still uninformed about the change of dry to dual control. Some of the older models do not feature the nomud technology.
6) Consolidate the color selections and make them available to all markets. Introduce limited special editions/ colorway if needed.

hi , iam wondering is the spark boot small fitting because iam getting two pairs
striker22
Sparks do run large and they stretch abit because of the soft leather. Depending on whether you like it extremely snug or just a little, you may want to downsize i.e. take a Nomis size 9 or 9.5 if you are a size 10. Nomis sizing are a little tricky, for me at least, it may feel very tight at first but after 3 games, they will fit perfectly.

The Nomis recommendation for Sparks is to downsize half a size from your regular boots. That is generally correct but even then, it can be a little confusing especially for someone switching from Nike. If you know your adidas Copa size, I would suggest you go down by 1/2 size. They will feel tight but will stretch comfortably.

If you take a size 11 for predators, you may like to try a full size down.

Assuming you are ordering them online, I am curious about your situation - you are unsure of the size but you want to order two pairs? Do you plan on trying them for size and then returning one pair or keeping both in order to save a little on the combined shipping? If it's the latter, I would suggest that you just order one pair first. This is a policy with buying all other boots, unless you've tested them personally before and liked them so much, there is no point in buying two pairs of untested boots for yourself. Even if you are buying with a friend or sibling, it is best to just order one first.

Just to add the following info. These are Nomis' recommendations.

Go down a full size for Instinct and Flare. (to me actually, it should be down 3/4 size but that's not possible for the mass market)
Go down 1/2 size for Glove and Spark
Other range of Calf Leather such as black pearls, it is possible to stick with your regular size. Doesn't stretch as much.

Width wise,
1) Nine Pincers is narrower.
2) Glove is wide fitting
3) The rest are regular fitting.

i might be wrong, but i dont think that HK was ever contracted to Nomis. They were constantly advertising their boots saying "Harry Kewell is wearing them for free" and stuff like that, so he might have just decided he wanted the money from a boot sponsorship and gone to nike. not completely sure though

Well this will be a bit of a bump, but I would like some input. I'm interested in a pair of Black Pearls. I've heard good things about Nomis, but have never tried them for myself. Any owners care to comment on if they like them? Also, is the sizing fairly normal?

I have the Black pearls, i like them but they started to rip pretty badly after 3-4 months, but shoe goo fixed that. as for sizing, they are quite big. I wore us 10.5 for vapor III's, but my black pearls are us 9.5. most of the time nomis say to take 1 size off your normal size.

Hello nomis (or anyone who can answer my question),

Aca sports are saying that they've got a gold nomis glove coming out on july 1st, jw if it is the gold/green HK one or is it totally gold and new?
striker22
If it's a new fully gold colored boot like the one in their infamous advert, I'm definitely getting it.

Judging from the sale and discounted pricing, it seems like the flare and instinct models which were first introduced as the top end models are now taking a backseat role compared to the sparks and gloves.

Hello Nomis, there also hasn't been any brand new models (apart from minor tweakings to existing models) introduced in recent times. Are we going to see anything "revolutionary" soon?

Not that I am aware of. The two glove models that I know of available are the White/Black/Gold and the White/Green&Gold (Two tone).

I'm afraid I can't give you too much detail apart from what's on the sites - they are a narrower fit than say the Glove or Spark model so that should be taken into consideration, but a popular choice by some of the Nomis athletes. Berrick Barnes wears the Flare and Chris Latham's a big fan of the Instinct. They feature Nomud and the EVA midsole, so your heel is raised slightly in the boot. This helps injury prevention, reduces forces etc. Maybe there will be some others on this forum who have those boots and can give you some comparison to other brands.

hey Hello Nomis, I got a pair of Nomis Futespeeds but I didn't get the box and stuff, just the shoes

I love them, their a dream to wear and so good looking (no homo)

so back to me not getting the box with all the stuff, my futespeeds have gotten pretty dirty since I got them so would I just use a wet cloth to clean it off or was there something that came in the box to use?

Why didn't you get a box?

You just want to use a damp soft cloth to clean them. Don't use any leather cleaning products like Dubbin. Also let them dry naturally away from a heat source. You'll find as the water absorption of the Control Leather is so low that they won't take long to dry. You can also get Wet and Dual Control cleaning cloths from shopnomis that will also help re-invigorate the grip.

Hello,
I actually run the Nomisshoes.com site and it is legitimate. We have an agreement with an American distributor to sell Nomis products from our site. We have no intention of claiming to "be" Nomis. In fact, we often link to the nomis football website. We simply offer an alternative for US citizens to buy the products without having to ship from Europe or Australia.

Thanks,

Hi,

Iv recently bought some Nomis Glove SG's and was unsure of size as it was from internet. I got 11 and 12 (usually im 12) and got them both deleivered, the 11 is too tight, and the 12 feels ok around the entire foot but i have just under 1/2 inch at the end of the boot. So getting the two boots hasn't really helped, should i stick with the 12's or go for a 11'5 which is going to cost me more as I'l have to get it from another site???

Cheers Guys reply soon.

When you're wearing the 12's, do they feel too big?

In the Black Pearl, I got an 11, and they're pretty much spot on. I was either an 11 or a 12. For you, I'd say go for the 11.5 if you can, because even if they are a snug fit, the leather is soft enough to expand a tiny bit to adapt to your foot more

Hope it was a help, though I doubt it was!

Hi,

Just to let you know, i sent both the 11 and the 12 back as i decided if i thought they werent right fit now then id think it all the time, plus once they loosen they would have been a nightmare. I have paid the extra 20quid to get 11.5 from a different site, so now i cant wait for them to arrive and actually kick a ball in them.....

staright away when i tried on the 12's i couldnt believe how soft and comfortable the leather is, so much better than my nike legends (which i put on after and wondered how i played matches in them....THE PAIN....!!!!). The nomis feel like moulded boots, which is rare with studs, only kings and copas have a reputation for the kind of comfort that the glove provides. It appears the Nomis have made one hell of a boot!!!
