Morning All.

You have to bear with me... Really had no sleep over the last few days/weeks to get the Nomis site and Control Freaks scheme up and running. I will try and answer your questions as they come in, although some I will have to revert to Simon (who is currenty touring Germany).

QUOTE
Is it possible to get that deal but different colours and/or one SG instead of FG?
I will get back to you on this. The idea is that the Control Freaks get a pair of these boots as these are the signature Nomis boots. Each blue wave is also unique so we thought it would be a nice touch for every Control Freak to have a unique pair of boots.

QUOTE
so do you have to buy the 2 boots in order to do all the stuff?

Yes you do, but as A N Speed mentions, you get both pairs for $300 - a saving of $220 (so it's almost like buy one get one free!) You will also be able to buy a K-Leather sports mitt for only $25 instead of $55 when you purchase your boots as well as an optional extra - in case you play AFL, Rugby, Gaelic etc

I'd also like to point out at this stage that regarding boot design, there is something sensational planned for Control Freaks in the future - it falls outside of the initial 6 month timeplan, so hasn't been mentioned yet. All I can say is that I have seen it, and it blew my socks off.

Please keep the questions coming. The responce we have had for this has been overwhelmingly positive - Thank you.

Michael
A.N. Speed
Can you just get one pair?
Hello_Nomis
At, the moment no. But if you imagine you are buying one pair anyway, you might as well pay $40 for the second pair!! Do you already have a pair?
penf.pat.15
well, for me personally, i already have 2 pairs... so where does that put me? tongue.gif
A.N. Speed
I grow out of boots per season/half season right now. I don't have cleats that fit tongue.gif and my indoors for indoor season are getting small smile.gif, that's sort of why I never get expensive shoes yet, i'd grow out of them.

I guess it's time I order!
Pubes
do you guys think that anoy of the nomis models will go down to $100 when the new models come out..im talking about on soccer.com/eurosport

also, is it true that you cant put leather food on nomis boots?..if not, then how do you clean them without ruining them???

and how is the quality of the nomis calf leather to the k leather?
Hello_Nomis
Care and Cleaning Instructions:

Do not use tape on any part of your Nomis boots as it may damage the surface of the leather.

Only clean your Nomis boots with cold water and a cloth. Not only will this clean your boots, but it will help rejuvenate the grip of the upper for the lifetime of the boot.

Do not use any detergents or an abrasive brush to clean your Nomis boots. These products can damage the leather surface of the boot.

Allow your boots to dry naturally after cleaning and game play, to keep your boots in the best condition. Do not place your boots next to a heater whilst drying. Due to the incredibly low water absorption of Nomis boots, your boots will dry a lot quicker.

Do not use dubbin or any other leather cleaning or protection product on your boots. Nomis Control leather is treated to keep the leather of your boots soft and supple for life. No additional products are recommended.

Any chance of a few samples for a few SP members to be able to evaluate and give first hand feedback on biggrin.gif lets say maybe 5 members?
Hello_Nomis
Good try! But all the product evaluation will be done through the Control Freaks scheme, plus it's always been my desire to remain as brand neutral as possible - so I have avoided trying to "buy" my way on the board. I hope you agree that whilst it means no freebies it is the best way to go.

Thanks
Michael
Dervish
Fair enough i understand your perspective but since you have an exclusive feedback response with soccerpulse, wouldnt it be a wise move to use a few of the boot freaks of this forum to evalute your boots smile.gif

I'll shut up now biggrin.gif keep up the good work
Hello_Nomis
Just had the ok from the boss man. First Nomis World Cup boot shots to be released to Control Freaks next week.
mike81
Cool, sounds good. Will they be e-mailed to all members, or will we have to keep checking the site?
Hello_Nomis
Those who have signed up to become a control freak will be sent a member number when their boot order goes through. They will then be sent a unique member number which will act as their password to get access to the "control freaks only" website.
mike81
So we actually have to order a pair of boots, to see the pics? If that's the case then looks like I will miss out because I have just pre ordered my Tunits.
Hello_Nomis
Yep, it's part of the control freak's scheme - more info at Control Freaks - if you track back a page or so in this thread there is also a lot of info about it.

Thanks
Michael

I would suggest that you reword the membership info on the website as it is very misleading. I also thought that when you sign up with your email address, you gain access to the inside info.

If it's only for people who buy the boots, I suggest you do the signup and email address submission AFTER the purchase. Collecting peoples email addresses, epsecially with no option to be excluded from using those addresses for marketing purposes is very misleading and some people might not appreciate it.

Or...is the control Freak program and sign-up more about getting people's email addresses for marketing purposes? doesnt seem very fair to me.

Akai Harrison
OOOHHHHH MANNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i am mad now because i thought once you signed up you were automatically gonna be a control freak. yeah... like rkuchinsky said, i think you better reword it because now i am very disappointed. i think it is not fair.n this is what it says:

Please apply to join the Control Freaks by completing the short form below.

We are looking to create a team from all around the world, so we'd love to hear from players from a range of different countries, as well as players who are used to a variety of different pitch conditions. It doesn't matter where you are, or how old you are – if you want to become more involved with a sporting brand in a way that has never been possible before, now is your chance.

So what are you waiting for? Become a Control Freak today!
Hello_Nomis
Ah, sorry for the confusion and apologies for your disappointment, I will make sure some info is added to the apply form to make sure people read through their requirements before they submit their application. You sort of hope/assume people will read through the information about the scheme first before applying for it, but I will get that fixed up to avoid any further miscommunication.

The Control Freaks scheme is designed so that people all around the world get the opportunity to use Nomis products and be directly involved in how those products are developed in the future. All the extra bits like the bag, cap, design a boot, exclusive website etc are all "perks" of being a Control Freak. It's like a really exclusive membership club and in a way letting you become part of the brand.

Sorry, you are being a little too cynical. I'm sure you must be aware of anti-spam laws that state that no business email can not be sent without the consent of the recipient (and that all emails sent must have a clear unsubscribe method). If you check out the nomis site you will see that on all forms that add you to the mailing list - it clearly says this. Sorry no secret marketing ploy - just a scheme to offer something totally new and fresh.

Anyway I'm off to amend that form! Apologies again.

Thanks
Michael

i really want a pair of nomis boots..do you guys think soccer.com will reduce price of older nomis models when the new ones come out??
shoegoe
I just gotta say that the apply page seemed very straight forward to me, the words 'apply to join' clearly implies that not everyone gets in, otherwise it would just be 'join...'. The control freaks concept seems great but the timing seems off where you need to purchase boots just before a new model is coming out rolleyes.gif , I'm definately going to try Nomis boots just I'm waiting for the new technology which hopefully will be worth the wait. When do us mere mortals (non control freak) get a look at the new model? fish.gif
A.N. Speed
Alright, so testing the turf and indoor boots as well go under control freak?
Hello_Nomis
Yes - all part of being a control freaks.
JLEA244
ne1 catch the west ham - birmingham game last night
Shaka Hislop was wearing a pair of nomis gloves
first pro ive seen wearing them
Hello_Nomis
Good spot! Sorry should have been on the ball more and let you all know. It's just moving so quickly here at the moment. There's a whole heap of more players wearing Nomis boots it's hard to keep up. These are a few more as well:

Wendell Sailor (NSW Warratahs & Wallabies)
Lesley Vainikolo (Bradford Bulls)
Matt Henjak (Western Force)
Berrick Barnes (Queesland Reds)

Thanks
Michael

Yes I saw Wendell wearing them....the blue ones just make him look more like a pansy because it matches his kit too well.
Hello_Nomis
Ha Ha. Now I wouldn't say that to his face!!
ejteK
Nope but 40,000 people chanting "Wendells a wanker" is good enough laugh.gif. Also noticed Latho wearing the Nomis gloves...they sure are nice, any idea of where i could get a pair in Brisbane? Would Rebel Sport carry them?
Hello_Nomis
Do you mean the boot Gloves or the Sports Mitts (orange hand gloves)? (Must remember to thank Simon for choosing to call a boot that!)

Where abouts in Brisbane are you?

Thanks
Michael
ejteK
Lol sorry I meant the grip gloves on his hands.

I live in South Brisbane.
Hello_Nomis
Ah, yes the mitts. They area causing a storm. You'll be seeing a lot more of those around soon - the players are just being blown away by them. Anyway, I am sure selected Rebel stores stock them. If not, just jump onto the Nomis online shop and you will have a pair the next day. I'll ask Nomis if any South-side stores have them in stock currently.

Thanks

Oh, so sad. Do you banana benders cry purple too? I dont think anyone fro nsw wants him either, its just cool we stole him from you. laugh.gif
thorpeyy.
I noticed on Soccer Am. They had a Nomis Glove (Mitt) stood up on the table infront of where the presenters sit. Didn't pick up why it was there.

Also think very good choice of colour. From now on when i'm watchin the Premiership games or the Super 14, i'm looking out for the distingtive orange gloves. Only seen Thompson from the England team wearing them though.

Did anyone catch Soccer AM? If so, can you let me know what they said about Nomis?!

Ah, there are loads and loads of rugby players in the UK wearing the mitts (out of choice rather than sponsorship I would like to add!!) - think there are 40 - 50 players in the Zurich Premier League, a couple in the England team, 3 or 4 in the scottish team... You'll find that some players are wearing blacked out Nomis gloves too.

Anyway, please let me know about Soccer AM if you saw it!

Thanks
Michael

Nipples
You could maybe PM FootyFanatic and ask him if he's got it on t'internet.
b3ans
Psssh, Only pussy Rugby players wear gloves, Its all about skill, nothing is going to help. This is why New Zealand is so good now, we dont rely on technology.

Dont worry Aussies, As long as you gave it your best effort, Its alright.

Hahahah

Im in love...they're great.

Great job Michael! They look superb thumbsup.gif clapping.gif!!
penf.pat.15
mmm... sexy!!

pretty interesting new stuff. i expected a synthetic, not k-leather that keeps dirt and grass off it self
thorpeyy.
Hmmm...

VERY DARN NICE!

But £140. Bit steep for a less than known Brand. (No offence intended)

They seem a cross between Lotto's and F50s. As above, very nice choice.

Any chance of seeing a lower model? (As in the F30, or Talaria)
mike81
If I hadn't already ordered Tunits, I would definately get a pair of these.

It's definately a high end model boot and the price does reflect that. I'm sure Nomis have got their market positioning spot on with these boots.

Regarding low end versions... I think you will have to wait for a little while yet.

Thanks
Michael

wonderful designs..love them!!

all i can say is....wow

Any chance of an SG version being avaliable, Michael?
