Are these meant for the soccer world cup coming up in Germany or is it for a rubgy world cup ?(sorry i dont follow rugby i honestly don't know when the next one is) and if so for the soccer world cup, which players will be wearing them? thanks in advance

Hi
Yes, I'm sure all the models I show you will be available in SG versions as well.
They are labelled "World Cup" boots because of the imminent soccer world cup. It is just an expression really. (Launched in time for the World Cup).
Chris Latham will be wearing the boots for the Wallabies at the Commonwealth games (Rugby) and I am pretty sure Jason Akermanis will be wearing them for the upcoming AFL season. Regards to soccer players at the world cup... I can't release any info about that at the moment. (Sorry).
Thanks

can you please explain how this nomud "technology" works? Is it something about the physical design of the outsole (spacing between studs, shape, etc.) or something about the material (coating, etc.).?
Do you have any tests to show this "technology" works? Compared to what?
thanks,
R

Hi Rich
You've already asked me this question in another forum, (and replied to my reply so not sure why you are asking me again) so here's the same answer!
------
I've got to be a bit careful in what I say due to the patent etc on the technology. Everyone is saying that this technology is going to be huge so it's being closely guarded!
Regarding tests, it's a pretty much quite simple. Play with one boot featuring nomud on one foot and on the other a boot without nomud and at the end of the game see the difference! Nomis are currently getting getting some photos done in the UK of this so as soon as I receive them, I'll whack them straight up. (They have wetter weather than Australia at the moment so it will be a better test).
------
And pre-guessing that you post the same question again...

If there is some sort of non-stick coating on the outsoloe (like teflon on a frying pan), wouldn't it also then be more slippery for a player? If dirt doesnt stick to the bottom, that must also mean that the player gets less traction
No. Hence why a fantastic new technology.
Thanks

Michael,
i didn't see your reply on BNR, before i posted here. sorry.
as for the slippery-ness, can you explain further? I dont really understand how it can be slippery to the mud sticking to the bottom and not slippery when on the ground....
is it like this nike patent for a non-stick coating on a football outsole that is only applied in certain areas?

Hi Richard
Sorry, I'm not really a technician so I can't really go into the finer details of how this technology works. Plus, as you probably can appreciate, when you launch something like this, I have to be careful what info I release. You wouldn't want me to be go getting into trouble with Nomis would you!!
Personally, all I can say is that I have spoken to the players who have been trialling it and seen their boots afterwards and it works!
Sorry I can't really divulge more.
Thanks

New technology sounds great, and if only the boots weren't $250 US, I'd have them in a heartbeat, they look great and have dry control. I'll just hope for them to possibly go on sale.

HelloNomis : Just a question mate, Is the difference between the $160 (eg. magnet/spoiler) and the $260 (glove/spark) boots mainly the leather? One being k-leather and the other being calf? I must admit I have been doing quite alot of research and a few visits to Rebel Sports Pitt St checking out these boots and I might actually give them a go for our upcoming season. Sorry if it has been answered in the previous 21 pages of this thread.
Hello_Nomis
Feb 25 2006, 08:27 PM
Hi Copious
The leather is different yes. Plus the Glove and the Spark are made out of one piece eather and you will get a better touch and feel. The comfort should be slightly better as well due to the leather. With the top of the range models you also get a free shoe bag, spare laces and a choice of sock liners to customise the fit.
If you have any other questions, just shout.
Thanks
Michael

I know this may be quite a daft question, but does Nomis have any plans of releasing synthetic boots?

Those boots make me want to make love. Beautiful.
Before I get them of course, I need to know how is the sizing? Is it the same or do they go down half, or what?
And if I get them a size down will they stretch properly to my size?
You know, that sort of thing.
<3 Nomis!

Feb 25 2006, 10:19 PM
Someone before suggested buying half a size lower as they will "mould" to your foot.
In saying that , does this 1/2 a size reduction refer to the "cheaper" boots 'magnet' and 'spoiler' ?

i went to rebel sports today adn tried on like evrey boot in the store. 2 really stood out the puma v1s and the sparks. the sparks were so comfy and the grip thign was pretty cool to. seriously those nomis boots are so so so much bettre then the preds and legends and leather boots. i gotta say after bein a vapor 2 user last year the vapor 3s were actually the most uncomfortable boot i have ever tried on especially for 350 as dollars. im highly considerin the sparks. just so good. the rebel sports people are tryign to convince everyone to buy them as well.

Did you try on the "spoiler" ? It's the only one in the Nomis range which is within my budget =/
Hello_Nomis
Feb 25 2006, 11:10 PM
AHCL20 -
All I can say really is that Nomis will continue to create innovations in football boot designs. I am not privvy to future plans just yet.
Copius -
We only recommend buying half a size smaller in the Glove and the Spark models. This is because the one piece K-Leather upper will stretch and mould to your feet over a few weeks. All other models go for your regular size.
A.N. Speed -
Actually I am not sure about the sizing recommendations for the Instinct and Flare models. I will ask for you.
And generally -
Just a reminder that there are just a couple of days left to join the Control Freaks scheme. It's really worthwhile as you do get 2 pairs of boots for just $300 (AU) which is almost one pair free. Plus you will have the chance to win a free pair of the World Cup boots (amongst lots of other things). davids7 - if you are thinking of getting the Sparks - take up this offer!! (That's assuming you are happy with the Yellow or Blue Spark as the options are limited).
Thanks

yes, consider the sparks... they're amazing!
about the nomud tech, is the drycontrol and nomud layered on top of each other? and does the effect of one lessen the effect of the other?
Hello_Nomis
Feb 25 2006, 11:54 PM
Hi penf.pat.15
The Dry Control is on the upper of the boot and the nomud is an outsole technology (on the bottom of your boots).

Hi Michael,
as you know, I don't work for any sporting related company.
How does your nomud technology work?
Hello_Nomis
Feb 26 2006, 05:33 AM
Ha Ha. I was expecting that!
This is all I can really say about nomud:
nomud is an innovative new technology applied to the outsoles of the boots, which significantly reduces the amount of mud, grass and dirt that is collected during normal game play. nomud helps retain maximum traction whilst your boots will stay as light at the end of the game as at the beginning. nomud also means less cleaning as it is a self cleaning technology.
Sorry I can't go into further details on the precisions of how it actually works. I will ask Nomis if there is more I can release about this.
Thanks
Michael

Hey Michael I noticed on nomisfootball.com the Magnet comes in a couple different colours. Was this for promotions only or can we buy diff colours apart from white/red and the silver one? As on the shopnomis site it only comes in these two colours . I'm keen on the blue and black one as found below

Ahh! You know i'd join the CF Nomis thing you guys have going but the fact that if I buy 2 boots now my Mom would never let me get another one until those get really worn out. That means no world cup boots

Though i'll still ask

Edit: Alright, so I asked my parents, and my mom doesn't know yet, but here was the deal, I can either buy the boots myself, or I can wait and see if I Get all A's, if I do, my dad will buy me them. Meaning, can I get an ext. date for the CF scheme

Alright, I think i'm going to have to pay for the boots myself which I can't do right now because i'm saving money for a trip to Europe to play soccer there.
Though I would gladly do the control freak scheme with indoor shoes (wet and dry?) for you instead, and pay for those since I am an avid indoor and futsal player.
Sorry about this

I'll have to buy an outdoor pair later when the season starts.

Hi Kaka, yes Copius is right - you'll have to buy online as they are not stocked in America yet. The 3/4 finger version is only available in Orange - there is a half finger version which is available in black - check them out on the website - there are flash 360s of them so you can spin them around and have a good look at them.
Thanks

Hi all,
Here are the pics of the Wet Control models - called the "Flare". And for those who might not yet be familiar with the Nomis Dry and Wet Control Technologies - the grip improves 7.5x when it gets wet (the wetter the better) on Wet Control boots. The leather is a two tone effect - you can see this better on the gold Flare picture below.

I can post a final colourway and a new Women's boot on Friday.
Thanks

And when do the indoor shoes get released?
