hey micheal,
i just got an email from nomis asking if i wanted to sign up to be a control freak and i was reading through all the material and i see i need to purchase 2 pairs of boots!!!

i really don't want to because i already have a good pair of sparks and a pair of gloves from a previous season. does this mean i can't become a control freak cuz it sounds pretty good or is there any other way past this?
oh whoops just read over the site and i missed the deadline by 2 months haha. must have been a stray e-mail....but i guess the whole having to buy 2 pairs of boots part is what kept me from joining in the first place. oh well

well the deal is that you have to buy a pair of sparks and gloves, so you might have a loophole there

I believe they have now reopened the program for applications to non-Oz people, so you might be able to make it in.

Is there a date for when the flares/instincts will be available on shopnomis.com? Is there possibly going to be any initial promotions or specials on them?
No date as yet because as we love our retailers so much we want to make sure they are in stores first. I would say towards the end of May they will be available. I can definately say that these will not have any promotions on them. They are a limited run and everyone is going nuts about them so there is no need!
QUOTE
Does anyone know how much the flares/instinct will weight. About the same as the F50+ or heavier?
I don't know the exact weight as the sample I have which weighs just over the 300 mark has heaps of glue and stuff on it which will significantly effect the weight. These boots may weigh more than the F50, but remember these have been designed to absorb less than 4% water and feature nomud, so the idea is that the boots, whatever the conditions, will stay the same weight through out the game and stop you having heavy clogged up boots.

Hey Michael
I'm very interested in buying a pair of the Nomis Spark. I'm looking at buying the Red+White ones. Will there be new colours released in the not to distant future in the Spark?
Also, How come so many of the Queensland Red's players wear Nomis boots? (Apart from them being such great products), Nomis sponsor them?
Is Nomis looking at becoming a major sporting manufactur in the future? eg. Nike, Adidas

I think the red/white ones will be not be continued - we have only one or two pairs left of these in the Australian warehouse. I have seen one new colour way for the Spark, not sure if there are to be more - I'm meant to be receiving the list of 06/07 products in the next day or so.

No, we don't sponsor them all. Chris Latham, Berrick Barnes (QLD reds) Wendell Sailor (NSW) and Matty Henjak (Force) are sponsored. The rest of them just love the boots.

NOMIS - SIMON after it's founder. once again i appoligise if this is old news but im new to the site and just picking up on the conversations. (the black pearl FG is the only boot i have worn other than the asics tigreor and it has made a lasting impression, well impressed on a whole with the comfort, design, and durability that this boot provides. i wont be using the 5 pairs of tigreor that i have left)

I have just recieved my first pair of Nomis' and i have to say they are the best boots that i own and i own a lot of boots. I can feel feel the leather getting stickier as my boots get wet and this does actually give you more grip on the ball. I'm just amazed my the way the technology functions on these boots. I won't be wearing my Copas, Absolutes ot AZt90iii's for a long time

There is no N on the instep of the Sparks anyway but probably took them off the outside as he isn't sponsored by Nomis....could be wrong though!
He should have worn the Red/White colourway. That would match his kit
perfectly

Hey couple questions about nomis boots.
1) which of the shoes have removeable insoles so I can put orthodics in?
2) If I bought wet control sg, and it happens to not be wet, would pouring water on them work?
P.S. is there a double meaning in Nomis like in Nomud (nomud). Nomis No-miss?

Hi
The Glove, Spark, Instinct & Flare have removable insoles definately and I believe the Nine Pincer and Black Pearl do too.
And yes, putting water on wet control boots in the dry would activate the extra grip. You will soon be able to get booster cloths to that activate the extra grip too.
Nomis - Simon - No Miss - it's a play on a lot of things really.

I know there has been a few questions about sizing but just to clarify
I wear pulses in size 8uk (which is 8.5 us) and they are quite snug but after a few games fit perfectly.
I wear vapours in size 8uk (which is 9 us) and they are really really tight but after a few weeks they fit ok but theres a bit of room in the tow box area.
I also wear copas in 8uk (which is 8.5 us) they fit snug when i first wear them but after a while they stretched like crazy and now they toe box area is too long and my heel lifts off the shoe when i wear them.
So with the glove and the spark, should I stick to 8uk or should I go with the 7.5uk? Well my copas were fine for a while but one day they were simply just too big.
I'm set on ordering a pair of Sparks and a pair of Gloves by the end of this week for the control freak thing (my email info is different from the forum info if anyone was wondering) and i'm pretty concerned about the size. I live in canada and it's going to take forever for them to get here and forever for them to be sent back to distro and then back again so i want to get it right in one shot.
I also have access to a Brannock Foot-Measuring Device at my work if that helps.
Oh and I normally wear size 9.5-10us running shoes (nike and adidas)
Thanks

blue_chocobo - recommend 7.5UK (8US)

Hello,
I bought a pair of Nomis the glove boots yesterday and before i use them i would like some info regarding the best way to clean them after use??
I have looked at the Nomis F&q's but there is no mention of this.
As the texture/feel of the boot is different to other boots, what is the best way to preserve this and what is the best way to normally clean the boot?? I take it you don't clart on heaps of boot polish!!!!!?????

Also, how much does the boot stretch/increase in size after using them a couple of times?? Are we speaking a half size or more?? As i'm normally a size 8, but when i got my boots that i'd ordered my toes were a mile away from the end!!!
Cheers
Hello_Nomis
May 24 2006, 06:09 AM
The Control Leather is conditioned to keep the leather at it's best so all you need to do is use cold water and a soft cloth to clean them with. Let them dry naturally away from a heat source. No need for any leather conditioners like dubbin - these may actually adversly effect the technology. You will also soon be able to buy booster cloths to help clean and "boost" the grip.
Sizing - the Glove boots will definately stretch due to the one piece K-Leather upper. We recommend at least half a size smaller, so they should be a tight fit when you first put them on.
Thanks

From the Sydney Morning Herald:
HARRY Kewell has put the Socceroos before a lucrative sponsorship deal with adidas, choosing to wear boots made by an Australian company in recent weeks.
Kewell, who scored two goals in a trial match against a Dutch amateur side early yesterday (Sydney time), has been suffering foot pain and a groin injury and was advised to try a different boot while he regains full fitness.
The recommendation was condoned by adidas, which sent Kewell a new pair of custom-made boots two days ago which the star striker is expected to wear during the World Cup.
The new boots are gold and black Predators, designed to fit Kewell's fluctuating foot size.
"When Harry is not training every day, his feet become smaller," a Socceroos staffer said. "After a full season, many players' feet are battered and Harry's two big toes are blue. He has gone from a normal eight to eight and three-quarters.
"The most important thing is that he's fit and in the best possible condition," adidas representative and former Socceroo Jim Tansey said.
"We're getting his feedback all the time and the ones he's just received were designed especially around his foot problems and the ongoing groin problem."
Kewell appeared in photographs in newspapers across Australia last week wearing boots made by Brisbane-based company Nomis. He wore the same company's boots during the FA Cup final.
"For us, obviously, it's fantastic exposure," Nomis managing director Simon Skirrow said. "We've been very busy the past few days.
"I'd say it's perfectly in line for him to experiment and see what the options are available to him."
