You can say that, but iin reality , chelsea are just to cheap with their long ball tactics, they have bench that is probably worth more money then barcelona's starting 11. Its not football with chelsea, its monopoly. I hope they play liverpool instead or ac milan, cuz that long ball crap wont work on defensive teams.

Though I don't support Chelsea, they indeed are very entertaining to watch. On the other hand, I love Barca and I would want them to win. However, it is true that Chelsea is a monopoly.

They dont play for the fans, at least I dont think they do, They are something like an english version of Real Madrid, All stars and there is no players commited to Chelsea, like Roy Keane is to United. You might say Lampard and Terry are but... no they arent.. if a team splashes out on them, theyll leave, another great example of a commited player is Shearer.

I am going to imagine that you are, but I am going to tell you that the only reason Chelsea beat Barca last season was because of the Heart that they showed.

I can maybe see where you are coming from as I would say that the players in our squad I consider to love the club are,

Cudincini, Terry, Lampard, Gudjohnsen, Cole and Duff

But then if I was to do the same for Barca, it would be

Valdes, Puyol, Iniesta, Messi, Dinho and Xavi.

I think it would come down more to talent, and i think barca will have the edge. They only lost last year because of stupid mistakes, both offesnively and defeinsvley, and i dont think chelsea will be so lucky the next time around.

Barca Will Deserve to win against chelsea the next time they play them in a important encounter.

From a non biased point of view i think Chelsea will win. Chelsea are stronger in defence than Barca and as just as good if not better in terms of attack. The midfield of Chelsea is more superior than Barcelona in terms of balance. The only thing they may lose out is their strikers do not score enough goals but Lampard is on fire, scoring goals like mad.

I think Chelsea will win again.

So far this season, Barcelona dont look as good as they did last year. Chelsea look better than last year. So Chelsea will still come out tops in my view.

I'm sorry but no. Barca has probably the best midfield in the world. I'll give Chelsea's a high rating but not on Barca's current level.
Chelsea has better coaching ( this is where they tip the balance heavely) , and a better defense.
But offensively? No. No way. If that were the case this match up wouldn't even been something to talk about.

I think it'll be a close toss up like last year (both have improved). Hopefully Chelsea won't cheat again, but with Morinho that's asking a lot.

Quality wise they are on par and i hope that Barca would win this one cuz i really dislike Chelsea.

If I am wrong and they do play each other in the CL this year, then you will see Barca win, and it won't be close. People forget the domination Barca had in the first match...... zero shots for Chelsea. The only reason they fell at stamford bridge was due to 1) 2 big mistakes (slips that gave the ball away) by our midfield that led to counter attack goals and 2) the lack of a call on interference with our goalie on Chelsea's last goal. Barca were the better team in both matches...... as Jose said of Liverpool after they knocked Chelsea out: "the better team did not win"

I think Barca will win.
Chelsea has a better defence, but Barca has defenetly better midfield and attack. Someone said that Chelseas pench is worth more than Barcas starting 11. Well...Ronaldinho & Xavi are worth more than Chelseas entire midfiled and attack together. But actually the sum what a player was bought does not matter at all.
Also Barca players are better individually and teamplay is very-very good too. Chelsea will play their usual Counter attack - 2 short passes and then Lampard or somebody will send the long ball to Drogba - nothing to watch.
Altough Barca has 4 games where their goal is empty, the defence would be still a little weak for Chelseas CA-s.
But like ROGA said: If they play again, Barca will not only win, they will show the world it is not even close between the two sides.

I realy hope that Barça will have to play against preferably in the semi-finals. Why not the final? because it is more fun to outplay a team for 180 minutes than only 90 minutes. Barça has by far a better squad and defenitely a better bench then Chelsea. We outplayed Chelsea last year and we lost because of a cheating Carvalho. (holding Valdes clearly)

Any football-fan in the world will want Barça to win, because its is about art and magic, not about money and arrogance.

I would rather see a semi-final of Barca vs Madrid, or Barca vs Juve, or Barca vs AC Milan.... I don't want the ugly Chelsea team to be honored with such a big match. Let them fall out early, as they are not the monster everyone thinks they are IMO. Let them dominate the Bolton's and the Blackburn's of the EPL while the real big teams play the CL. If the EPL is to have a team get to the semi-final and Final once again this year, let it be Arsenal, a team that can entertain the way the other big teams can.

Let Jose 'wish for barca' once again this year.... he won't get by us again.

Anyway I think that if Barca and Chelsea both play at their BEST, Barca will take it. However Chelsea looks like the more consistent of the two teams so I think it may depend on Barca's form at the time they are playing. I do think that Barca has a better team though..

I love Chelsea but if we played barca agian i dont know if we could beat them they have such an admirable attack eto'o, ronny and messi i mean thats the best attach in the world arguably of course but we dont have a striker that compares with eto'o. i wish we did ut the case is we don't . well thats IMO.

Well, I for one, am a Barca and La Liga fan first and foremost... BUT, in the EPL, I was a Chelsea fan, I loved Chelsea before Jose came more than anything... with Jose Morono the team's attitude and style have changed, the team is not Chelsea anymore.....

It is not what Chelsea are doing, it is the way they are doing it... from the top (abromovich and Jose) down to Gallas now being the kind of player who will sucker punch a guy in the back.......

i was also a big fan before the take over, chelsa was an awesome team before the take over and i agree it was a totally different team but if you remember we were seriously in debt and i welcomed the takeover with welcome arms. The team now is the best in the history of chelsea and that is also a great thing. we have the best manager in the world and while other teams' supporters dont like it he has still been the most succesful manager over the last 3 years.

I realize that, and had it been Barca, I'd be in the same boat, but as my heart is not in the EPL, it was easy to see that with Chelsea, the cost of being great was too high IMO. I would take Rijkaard any day over Jose, even if Jose may have some extra skill and experience as a tactician, I like Rijkaards attitude and dignity more.

As of now, I doubt any team could wrestle a win from us. We're on form, fit and more importantly, we're performing seemlessly as a team. For those who said that Barca isn't playing as well as last year, check the stats. It's all there, 4 clean sheets in a row and an unstoppable attack.

I also admire rijkaard his passion for football is amazing. i do not think the cost was to high but thats just my opinion and i respect yours.

The only reason I say the cost was too high, is this:

Look at the backlash. Chelsea, while they are great, and win a lot of matches, have more critics than any team in history that has been that good. The reputation of the team outside of its fan base is very poor, and that makes it difficult to extend its fan base. It is so bad that Arsenal, Man U, Madrid, Barca, Bayern Munchen, AC Milan, Juve and other fans are united in their dislike for Jose and his brand of football, and ultimatly the club and team. Chelsea fans will reason it is that we are jealous, or that it is envy by those other big clubs.... but that is rediculous. Our history of success at these other clubs, and current success are equal to or greater than Chelsea (as they have yet to win anything outside of EPL). That is why I think the cost was too high.

This is what I think, even thought I started this topic now I am gonna fully explain myself.

1. The first game, if its played in London, Chelsea will be thinking that Barca are scared to play outside of Spain, and will attack them like hell in the begginign of the game. If Barca dont concede any goals in the first 20 minutes , they will most likely get a tie or maybe even win by a narrow margin.
2. The second game, In Spain, will be mostly dominated by Barcelona, because they will put all of the good passers as starters and will play with Chelsea's minds. When they do that, Mourinho will be confused but he wont admit it, therefore he will act like he is smart and make a stupid decision in the tactics formation which will cost Chelsea a 2-0 , maybe 3-0 loss in Spain..


But of course, none of this will happen... if they don't get matched up against each other, I would love to see that happen though.

But well, if these two "giants" of football would collide in the CL, then I would say that Barcelona would win (if and only if they are at their best). I don't think Chelsea is as unstopable as people make them up to be. Anyway I would love to see Mourinho's reaction when he loses and Eto'o (the man who said he did not wanna go to Chelsea because of Mourinho) dances around and makes a fool of himself like usual.

That is just what i don't understand, we haven't done anything terribly wrong to get those critics. It's as if they feel (for want of a better word) afraid of a team that has always been good but 2 and a bit years ago suddenly became a threat to the big clubs in Europe. And to make up for this they critiscise Chelsea. If you asked a club similiar to chelsea before the takeover such as bolton, everton or middlesborough if they would would trade middletable finishes for success and titles along with the critiscism Chelsea receives and i bet they would.

I personally do not like rich teams, like Chelsea and Real, but if Real check their budget, they would go bankrupt, if they keep winning nothing each season... its over for them

In a match between these two it could really go either way, probably all the way to penalties.

A lot of those critis started being critics due to Jose, and Jose saying things like: "I've never lost in the CL" and "The better team didn't win" making false alligations about a ref in the Barca match half time......etc... etc.... etc....

Then it continues when we see players like Joe Cole yell and cry to the linesman after EVERY call against him. And it continues when we see Galls punch a guy in the back after the play has been blown dead.

Anyhow, no need to go on about this. But there are good reasons for the critis, it is not just envy.
