Post Pictures if Possible.

From my Experiance,

Lisbon Luz (Estadio de Luz)

And from what i've heard, Parkhead. Especially on a Old Firm Day.

Yea, i got Bobby Robson's Signature from that Game.

Difficult to say the stadium with the best atmosphere as I only go there when United play usually but in the past the Roker Roar (not sure about the Stadium of Light) was as loud as I have heard, although a big CL game at Old Trafford can be deafening.

I have never been but some friends say Galatasaray is the noisiest and most intimidating they have ever been to.
Nando.
I have only been to the Bernabeu and the Camp Nou. I've seen the Clasico (Barca v. Madrid) in both stadiums and I can safely say that the Bernabeu is more imposing. The Camp Nou is larger but the fans are farther from the players. THe Bernabeu is built straight up, if you're sitting in the top sections you can get Vertigo as it seems like you are going to fall on top of the field.

The other game I saw at the Camp Nou was the Barca-Valencia where Rivaldo scored the overhead kick to clinch fourth place on the last game of the season.
Hellish
I dunno. It's a bit difficult to judge because the atmosphere of a stadium is what you make of it (i.e. how you feel about the team, the people you're with, the match itself, the weather, et al). Basically it's about perception. shrug03.gif

Holy shit, I would've done anything to be there for that game! The crowd went nuts when he scored it. One of the best individual performances in all of footballing history. worshippy.gif Rivo worshippy.gif

As far as the Camp Nou goes, it's more like an opera than a stadium. Mostly due to the fact that there's a bunch of elderly cigar-smoking Spanish aristocrats that go there to be entertained rather than make a bunch of noise. I'm planning on going there in like '07-'08 hopefully.

Its an imposing stadium, especially from Outside. It is HUGE. However I dont like the way they built it, it's too horizontal and the fans sit too far. The thing I do like about it it is that the actual field is one of the biggest in the world, which benefits attacking, wide open style of play.

BTW, in that Barca-Valencia game, after Rivaldo scored that goal (his third If Im not mistaken) the game was practically done and the first fan to run onto the field was a kid of about 15 yrs, who went straight to Puyol and got down on his knees as if he were begging for something. Puyol hesitated but then took off his shirt and gave it to the kid. It was a pretty cool thing to see as immediately after the entire bottom half of the stadium emptied onto the field.

None of your stadiums can beat my Besiktas Inönü Stadium. It may be small (35,000 capacity) but it has the most dedicated fans in the world. One motto is "iyi günde, kötü günde" which means On a bad day, On a good day. We cry with our team when it loses crying.gif , we laugh when it wins laugh.gif .

Also, not a lot of teams in the world let alone Turkey, have such a view from their stadium. 50 meters away from the Bosphorus.

Yeah, Stadium of Light as Thorpey eventually said dry.gif mf_tongue.gif tongue.gif

The Stadium of Light is unreal when its full....but since it never is anymore, im going with St James' Park. The passion inside there is immense, whoever theyre playing. Always singing, always shouting, always loud. There is no such thing as a quiet moment, and thats class in my opinion.

Back to the Stadium of Light, if that was full of the passionate Sunderland fans like it used to be, then it would probably be better for atmosphere because its a proper stadium, not "bit by bit" stadium like St James' Park. At Sunderland, you have the roof the same height all the way around, as its been built properly and for the purpose of expansion in the future. But, im sure when they finally get all 4 sides and corners of St James' Park done it will be very impressive.

Old Trafford packs one hell of an atmosphere, though it was because i was in the middle of 40,000 crazy arsed mackems banana.gif Cant comment otherwise as ive never been to a United match there, yet.

The stadium with the biggest and most beautiful atmosphere is...
Stade Vélodrome of Olympique de Marseille...
Even the players are saying it's the best to play in, and that the ground is shaking.

It's on a Strasbourg vs. Saint-Etienne match.

Of course it's in french, but I can translate :
They are saying : "The league (meaning the league commitee) we fuck you"
Why ? Because the directorate had planned to stop allowing ultras into the stadium...
So they were protesting. On one corner of the stadium you have Strasbourg ultras and on the other corner Saint-Etienne's. thumbsup.gif

I'm glad someone said it. It may seem biast but I have to say St. James' Park too, although this may be because I haven't been to many other stadiums. Best stadiums for atmosphere are the ones that are enclosed as the sound is echoed.

San Siro is amazing. I went to Italy for a holiday and went to the Milan vs. Inter game where Milan came from 2-0 down to win 3-2 and i was sitting where the tifosi are (the crazy fans with all the flares) and the place went off, especially when seedorf scored the cracking winner, i alsmost went flying of the rails.
charon
i think all staduims when they are full and its a rival match has superb atmospheres, i miss the old days, when fergie and wenger would sledge each other, and the fans would be pumped for a huge game, the atmosphere, even though i not an gunner fan, i do go for them that day, and its a great feeling to hear the crowd suddenly go quiet when the opposing team scores,

but anyway, back to the topic question, i reackon stade de france when france play, or at the vellodrome, but i love stamford bridge obviously.

espcially the chants, its not a huge atmosphere like nou camp or so, but i love it, when we score, and when the opposing team scores and we go quiet, but i loved it when barca came last year, what was that chant again, oh yeah

boring chelsea, boring chelsea, boring chelsea

sorry to go off on an tangent here
AllezParisAllezPSG
i'm surprised a few mentioned french stadiums... people usually NEVER mention them and automatically think the french are sissies or what ever... i would have to agree that i think one of the best atmospheres is at the stade velodrome in marseille (yes i know, they are our arch enemy, but i won't lie, that place is crazy) ...

i also think the parc des princes in paris can get real crazy (i know from experience - you should buy the Supras Auteuil 2003 DVD, you'll see for yourself) but then, what stadium does not get crazy at some points? here is a link to one of the games at the parc des princes against nice back in the 2003-2004 season... it takes about 5 min to completely download... if you watch it, you'll see violence before the game (such drunk idiots that equal wastes of lives) for half the video with morons clashing with CRS police... the rest of the video shows fans celebrating the 30 years of the parc des princes where a big TIFO on the auteuil side with a replica of the parc des princes (depuis 30 ans, c'est au parc que l'histoire s'ecrit = for 30 years, it's at the parc where the history goes on) and on the boulogne side, a heck load of flares with a sign saying "bienvenue dans l'enfer du kop" or "welcome to the hell of the kop" ... too bad it was an awful game and you couldn't see what its like when they score... final score : 0-0 ... here's the link : http://supras.91.free.fr/parissg_nice.wmv

in any case, on my psg boards, this is what we think in general... stadiums in brazil and argentina can be electric... fans in greece and turkey are known to be "chaud" or just real loud, which is good... in italy, due to the foundation of the ultras there and their influence on a lot of the PSG supporter clubs, people have a positive view of fans there... people honestly think games in spain are boring (the stereo-type is it gets loud when they score or if they just missed when they all god OOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUU) ... german stadiums and their ultras groups there are known to be pretty good also... but psg fans are disappointed with whats going on in england... you don't see the flares or the flags as much... they sing there but they the ultras influence is not as strong there (too bad) ...

from a french point of view, the stade velodrome, parc des princes, stade de france (sometimes), stade bolleart (lens) and of course GG aka - "le chaudron" in saint-etienne...

Liverpool fans are the most passionate and it was shown in the league cup final against chelsea this year

"Liverpool supporters earned some small consolation for their Carling Cup defeat after setting a new record for the world’s loudest fans.
Cardiff Council officials measured the noise levels at both ends of the ground for the final and the Merseysiders roared ahead with a maximum reading of 130.7 decibels, four decibels higher than Chelsea and two higher than the current world record for the 'Loudest Stadium Roar' held by the Denver Broncos (128.74 decibels, set in October 2000).

The loudest point came when John Arne Riise put Liverpool ahead in the first minute with Chelsea only able to reach a high of 126.5 decibels.

Liverpool's average volume level was also higher at 93.5 decibels compared with Chelsea's 92.2 decibels.

Steven Gerrard's name recorded a decibel count four higher than any other player as the team line-ups were announced.

Sam Ward, Carling Cup Sponsorship Manager, said: "The Carling Cup is all about the fans and what a performance from both sets of supporters. This year's competition has attracted more fans than any before and smashing the world record is a great way to top it off."

We might have lost the 2005 Carling Cup final on the pitch but when it came to the supporters off it, the Liverpool fans were in a different league to their southern rivals and not just in terms of noise.

As was the case when Liverpool played Arsenal and Manchester United in the same Cardiff stadium in recent years, the Liverpool supporters not only made the most noise but also provided the most colour.

A handful of flags with the St Georges Cross on the them in the Chelsea end was no match for the colour, wit and originality of the hundreds of banners and flags on display in the Liverpool end.

Amongst all of the flags and chants, it was a scene in Westgate Street before the match that really summed up the unique nature of Liverpool fans. As the street bristled with anticipation with kick-off less than an hour away, a sea of Liverpool fans opened up to allow three men through with a massiveframed portrait of Rafael Benitez. The street went mad as this giant Rafa portrait made it's way down the street. It was the sort of scene you see on the news in the Middle East not outside a football stadium in Wales but it looked pure class and again highlighted that off the pitch at least, we're a class above every team in Europe. "

If there is a rival match or a cup final match there is lots of Atmosphere even though the stadium might be crap.
For instance... when we beat arsenal 2-0 at Old Trafford and end their 49 unbeaton run there was lots and lots and lots... of atmosphere!

It was jumping when England played Wales there. Great sunny day.

Suppose it was full of England Fans then, not Man Utd.

i think its either Liverpool or Paris Sint Germain. I think it was measured and said that anfield is the loudest stadiium in all sports from last season especially during the champions league. Also the ambiance in the parc des princes is just so great especially against rivals marseille.IPB Image

Ataturk Stadium is the place where Milan and Liverpool played the final of the CL. It is a stadium built specifically for the olympics to support Istanbul's bid in 2012. However, Fenerbahce has their own stadium. It's called Sukru Saracoglu.
