Inter v Porto
v
FC Porto return to the venue and the team where last season, as UEFA Champions League holders, they relinquished their crown in a 3-1 loss at FC Internazionale Milano. The Portuguese club took a measure of revenge with a fine 2-0 win against Inter on Matchday 3 and, again like last season, are now showing strong signs of making a recovery after a stuttering start to their group campaign.

I'm expecting a thriller out of this one, a goal show like aslan_cimbom said. I think Porto will take it again, but this time 3-2, if we're lucky 4-3 for even more thrills and spills.

1-0 Porto HT.
Adriano has been a waste in the first half, hasn't really been a threat. Figo is the man im looking out for, he has been outstanding always creating chances.
Beautiful freekick by Almeida, I loved how much noise our fans are making

Wat a goal by Almeida. I believe some Inter fans were making fun of him from the last match but they aren't saying anything now lol.
Its funny that these Inter fans were so confident and thought that Porto are a walk in the park. Porto are doing good so far and i hope they can hold on to the lead.

2-1 FT. I do not know how this happned but I am fucking furious at the fact Porto had a one goal lead and let Inter pick up alot of pessesion and bassicly played like shit for the rest of the game. We barely had any scoring chances in the 2nd half. Porto were lucky this game didn't end 3-1 or even 4-1. The penalty call on Martins was a joke. What was Lucho thinking when he elbowed Materazzi?

Adriano was a joke.
Alves (why was he even subbed on. I have no idea)
Cech (this guy needs to learn how to cross)
Pepe played great, good job for him, I think we will see him alot this season.
Where was Diego in this match? I do not know...
Baia had a good game, great save off a freekick.
Nothing is over yet, the Rangers draw was just what we needed.

Yep, another lead squandered by Porto. After the first goal they didn't play at all. The second half was all Inter because Porto let it be that way. Good job on Mancini's part by subbing in Cruz for Adriano, he did absolutely nothing in this game.
I hope Porto progress, they should be able to win the next two games... unless like they played like they did after scoring the goal today...

Porto were non existent in the second half. They were playing way to defensive.
That ref practically had that whistle in his mouth through out the whole game. He was stopping the game way to much, especially a lot of calls seem to in favor for Inter.
That penalty was a joke. Pizzaro was already falling down before any contact was made and that ref was in a very good position to see that.
The second goal was very bad at Raul's part. I really don't see what people see in him, i have always thought he was bad. He looked like an amateur, wtf was he trying to do? And why was he standing inside the net? He almost got an own goal as well.
Co who was being criticised for his poor defensive work, went way to defensive today. He let Inter take control the game after Porto took the lead.

Its too bad to see Porto sit back like that, after the wonderful Almeida FK goal which was pure class. After Porto dissapointingly did Nothing they were in their 18 yard for much of the game after their goal (they have a exciting team do not need to resort to such tactics). I believe part the reason for going so defensive after had to do with the fact that Porto lost games to Rangers and Artmeida by being too offensive minded even when they go 2-0 up, so now they went too defensive minded afterwards and it didnt work out. Eventually Inter got a soft penalty and it was downhill for Porto from there.
Good move by Mancini to put in Mihalovic and punish Porto for all the fouls and corner kicks conceded, the Vitor Baia save on Mihalovics freekick was amazing.

the last 2 games are winnable and they will put us through it is in our own hands now which is all we could of asked for after losing 2 easy games, congrats to inter on the win.

Congrats to Inter, great win. Cruz (and the rest of the team) will now be brimming with confidence, so the next two games should be a snap and they should qualify easily.

Things were going great until Co A decided to go way to defensive. By adding 5 defenders. What was he thinking?
Our defence imo was solid except Cech. He struggled a little and what was up with his passes today? Couldn't make one decent one.
What a great goal by Hugo, man that was a bullet. He won a lot of headers as well.
The penalty was a dumb call. Pizzaro was already nearly on the ground before contact was even made. That was a given by Inter.
The 2nd goal.. 2 things bugged me in this goal.
1) Cruz scored, the same man who commited so many dumb fouls last game and should of gotten 2 yellow cards ( especially the challenge on Assuncao ) him playing came back to punish us.
2) Can somebody explain to me wtf Raul was trying to do? Horrible defending on the far post. Not only was he inside the net but he tried to head the ball out or something which doesn't make sense, since in that situation he could of (and should of) used his foot to clear the ball out. Instead make a complete retard out of him self. Man he looked so stupid, I'm still trying to figure out what he was trying to do.
Porto needs to win both games now. To be honest I'm more scared of Artmedia more than Rangers atm.
We can win though, we just have to prevent playing so damn defensive.

if porto win, they are through, cause we will beat Artmedia

Nov 2 2005, 12:05 PM
Ya well I really hope they make it through but Porto already lost to them both after leads on both of them and I dunno what it is but it seems Porto can not hold a lead, im just fustrated cause I thought Porto had this match until the 2nd half when they decided to play different soccer... i don't get it why change something thats working if they were attacking and that was working why would you want to change that and go to defence and allow 2 goals....?

Porto still have a shot at going through. It all depends on what Inter can do with both of these teams.
This is my prediction on how the table will look after all games are played.
Inter Milan 13
FC Porto 9
Rangers 6
Artmedia Petrzalka 5
Porto WILL beat Artmedia and Rangers. (6 points)
Inter will beat Artmedia, and will have a draw with Rangers. (4 points)

i dont see Porto beating Artmedia, after wat i saw on the last match, i think Artmedia can beat Porto, IMO Artmedia will qualify, only if we dont beat them,
