Ther is the draw for the next round of the Women's FA Cup, due to be played on Sunday 13th November. I can't see a winner coming from any of those games, as the top ten clubs in the country will be added during the 4th Round Proper. I can see a winner coming from one of these:

Arsenal
Chelsea
Leeds United
Birmingham City
Doncaster Rovers Belles
Sunderland AFC Ladies
Bristol Academy
Everton
Charlton Athletic
Fulham

Charlton Athletic are the current holders and are now sitting pretty at the top of the FA Nationwide Women's Premier League, after beating Bristol Academy at the weekend. They are also the current holders and have reached the final for the past 3 seasons. I can't see any side having a better chance of winning the cup as Charlton, but of course Everton, Arsenal and Doncaster Belles can never be written off bigsmile.gif

Arsenal ladies!

I think Arsenal will when
Renee
I wish they would televise some of these games in Canada.... (if they're televised at all?).
hotspurts
Everton, they've got Rachel Unitt
Campeões
I think Arsenal will win as they have been dominant in women's football and the Women's Premier League for a while now and have made some good signings in Rachel Yankey and Alex Scott after the Birmingham City Ladies team had to split up.
mmm...
ARSENAL

A friend of mine scored in that 5-3 win at the bottom for Nequay Ladies over Team Bath from the University of Bath. She's a good player, lets see how she gets on come Sunday afternoon as Newquay take on Keynsham Town smile.gif

Lions Den to host Final
Monday, 30 January 2006.

The FA is pleased to announce that The FA Women's Cup Final, in partnership with Nationwide, will take place at Millwall’s 20,000 all-seater stadium, The Den on Bank Holiday Monday 1 May 2006. Kick-off is 1pm.

This year’s prestigious final will also be broadcast live on BBC One for the fifth consecutive year.

The announcement comes after this morning’s Sixth Round draw at Soho Square which pitted holders Charlton Athletic away to Bristol Academy in a re-run of last season’s semi-final.

Millwall Chief Executive Ken Brown said: "We are delighted that we will be staging the Final at The Den. Millwall have a proud tradition of promoting women's football, and indeed Millwall Lionesses were winners of this competition in 1991 and 1997.

“We have had the honour of hosting the Final previously in 1998 and are looking forward to a magnificent occasion on 1st May."

The first ever Women’s Cup began in 1970-71 and was called the Women’s Football Association Mitre Challenge Trophy, and in 1993-94, The FA took over the running of the competition. The competition was renamed The FA Women's Challenge Cup, with Doncaster Belles beat Knowsley United 1-0 in the final, the last time that the cup has been won by a club outside of the capital.

In recent years The FA Women’s Cup has been a celebration of the women’s game, with hundreds of girls’ teams from across England traveling to the capital to cheer on the finalists.

The record attendance for The FA Women’s Cup Final was in 2001 when 13,824, turned out at Crystal Palace FC to see a London derby between Arsenal and Fulham. Last year Charlton Athletic won their first FA Women’s Cup Final with a 1-0 victory over Everton at Upton Park, Eniola Aluko scoring the winner.

Ray Kiddell, Chairman of The FA Women's Football Committee said: "We are delighted that The FA Cup Final will be held at Millwall Football Club, a fantastic stadium to host this showcase game of the domestic women’s season.

"I hope that this announcement will excite the players, officials and supporters of all clubs after this morning’s Sixth Round draw, and that we will witness an exciting game on 1 May."

The 1997 Final was won by Millwall Lionesses who defeated Wembley 1-0, and of the last eight finals, Arsenal have won four times, Fulham twice and Croydon and Charlton Athletic once each.

Millwall Lionesses Player-Manager Pru Buckley, who starred in that 1997 triumph added: "Staging the Final at The Den will provide a real boost for Women's Football in South London.

"Our club has never been stronger in terms of the number of girls and young women currently participating in the sport, and it is great that many of them will have the opportunity to see the top players in action at Millwall."

Tickets will go on sale for this fixture in February, with group discounts available for schools and clubs. Watch out for further details on TheFA.com.

Hopefully I'll be getting tickets to the final bit of a trek to London from Manchester but hopefully it'll be a good game, cracking atmosphere at recent games in the FA cup so I expect this one to be no exeption.
Peace

Yeah theres no where near enough T.V. coverage of the womens game. FIFA should go out of their way to make sure more revenue is put into the womens game.

Being a bloke most people would expect me to want to see more womens womens footie for the wrong reasons, but I can asure you for most men I know who watch womens football it's about football not just the girls in shorts. Shame Sep "Women should wear tighter shorts" Blatter doesn't agree.

I think that statement has been heavily misinterpreted by alot of people. There is already a thread regarding that open for discussion.

Definately yeah, she returned from a long-term injury to score 9 goals in 8 games in all competitions so far this season for Arsenal Ladies, creating a great partnership with both Lianne Sanderson and Kelly Smith. She is also a regular for Scotland scoring 78 goals in 73 appearences in her international career.
Joel.
The F.A. cups new sponsors E.ON will also be sponsoring the womens FA cup next year. So hopefully that'll bring in more revenue tha the current sponsors AXXA.
