Welcome to the land of Tango and Mate, where River Plate and Boca Juniors have the biggest blood feud in South America, and where the cops may not be enough to keep fans from each other.

Possibly the most exciting league in the Spanish speaking nations of the Americas, and surely the most passionate.

I invite you to take a walk around the more important stadiums the Argentine league has to offer, I hereby bring you Stadiums Across Argentina.

dont know where our Spanish friend got his stats for the Monumental but its a lot more than 54000.There were 80000 at the Mundial final in 78.It has been reduced since to an official capacity of 65645.

Estudiantes is not playing in that Stadium anymore. Now with Gimnasia LP (although they don't like to), they play on "Estadio Único de la Ciudad de la Plata", the newest and also most modern stadium across the country.
It's simply beautiful. (for us, it'll never be as a Camp Nou, Old Trafford, Bernabeu or Giuseppe Meazza, lol).

And it's not finished yet.

Estadio Ciudad de La Plata

Address: 32 and 25 Ave., La PlataCapital Federal

that's a nice stadium. I heared that Boca isn't allowed to play the CL games in la bonbonera due to safety reasons. Will they change something at the stadium now?

They did.

Last year (because of what happened in CL2006):

They had to play all group matches in Vélez.

And after Cruzeiro, Boca couldn't play against Atlas in Bombonera, so they played at Velez.

About this, many ppl say that River has to do with it (normally anyone'd have get 1 match without stadium) because be4 River had the chance to play against Boca (hypothetically) in Semifinal. So River pressured Conmebol and Boca recieved 2 matches.

Boca will appeal, let's see.

Great thread... I collect memrobilia from stadiums in SA...Ciudad De LaPlata Stadium...how modern is it? Is it the typical south american style or modern? Or should I say Fifa friendly.. It looks great and I want to visit it in the future when I get my tango itch to fly down the argentine way.
Another question....Are the stadium laws changing down there?....you know like smoking rules and alcohol etc....Thanx a million..How many posters on this forum live in argentina? It would be cool to party one day...

Don't know what you meant when you speak of "typical SA or modern" tongue.gif

Yes, they are forcing the stadiums to have seats. Everybody should be sitting on a chair. But It's very complicated as clubs don't have money xD

About smoking and alcohol thank god they don't smile.gif

And, as you already know, i'm in Buenos Aires and I'd love to party one day if you come here biggrin.gif

Don't think River will have a new stadium... and upgrade maybe.

About Boca... there's always the issue of it's size. It has been built up in a very small place, so it's hard to make it for more ppl :S But this thing about moving out and stuff is something i hear since i have reason tongue.gif

why Argentina NT doesn't play in other stadiums? the Monumental look bad, the pitch is bad and it has big impact because ARG play short pass game. The crowd sit far from the pitch, it's make an influence or not?
I think it's could be great if the NT play in stadium that crowd stand near the grass and could support more than the Monumental, stadiums like Amaltafini, Domingo Peron, rosario central stadium and Libertadores de america look like better stadiums.
