Estádio do Pacaembu, as it is usually called, or Estádio Municipal Paulo Machado de Carvalho, which is its official name, is located on Praça Charles Miller, s/nº - in Pacaembu neighborhood, and is owned by the Municipal Prefecture of São Paulo. It was inaugurated on April 27, 1940 with the presence of the then Brazilian President Getúlio Vargas, of the intervener Adhemar de Barros and of the mayor of São Paulo Prestes Maia. The stadium holds 38,800 people and its pitch dimensions are 104 m of length and 68 m of width.

The stadium is named after Paulo Machado de Carvalho. He was the 1958 World Cup Brazilian delegation chief, and was known as "Marechal da Vitória" (Marshall of Victory).

Corinthians usually play at Pacaembu stadium.
Mané Garrincha
Heres an interesting fact regarding the Pacaembu. Did you know that on May 18th, Garrincha and Pele played for Brasil against Bulgaria at the Pacaembu. Brasil won 3 - 1, but more importantly this match was the first match Garrincha and Pele ever played together for the Selecao, it was also the first match on their 57 match unbeaten run when they played together for Brasil.

Yeah, there are for sure some great stadiums on Brasil... I hope we can lead the cup of 2014 without any hard improvment. About Pacaembú, yes Corinthians (my favorite team) is about to create his own stadium by donations of fans of the club (no, they're not poor, its because the stadium wasn't on their plans) which is called until now as "Timão".

I'll put some imgs later wink.gif

(I'm from Brasil btw)
The King of Leon
what about Estádio Olímpico João Havelange

Zidaneisgod
brasil have best players but i cant say same about stadiums....most of then are very bad, and even best stadiums are poor if you compare with germany stadiums in past world cup.CBF and clubs should care more about the stadiums in brasil, some of then just dont care about stadiums and they get old and dangerous for people.
