planning to buy a pair. it will cost me about us$80. can anyone using these boots tell me what do you guys use to clean & condition them? i live in singapore & i still cant find any leather food.
yorkie
Hi mate, i've had the same troubles with trying to find some of that Chelsea Leather Food. I have the German Copa's and what i do that works great all the time:

Get some hot soapy water and an old toothbrush. Scrub all over the boot, and use an old rag to wipe off the water/dirt. This also gets the marks off the 3 adidas stripes and the little adidas thing on the back of the heel. Then either use a light coat of Dubbin, or if you can't get your hands on any, use a black leather polish. Works wonder's for me. But the material used to make the tongue is near impossible to keep clean but that doesn't bother me that much.

Good Luck!

What position do you play? I find there are different boots suited to different playing positions.
mufcforever
wtf are copas?
Sony-Fan
theyre da copa mundials the oldies of the site like em
yorkie
I'm only 15 and I wear em...
soccer808
How do the copas feel like. Is it Comfy?? Do u like it?
yorkie
Yeh very comfy, nice boot, durable. The only complaint i have is the stud length, which i think is too small for FG. But you can always buy the SG pair.

i am 31 & i have never tried them. i was at the store the other day & took a look at them. the k-leather is quite different from the other adidas k-leather. i really would like to try them...before i get too old
Joshinho
Copas or Kings will might be my next boots..though I have at least 2 good seasons on my current boots that I just got, so who knows by then...

I use "mink oil" for moisturizing and water protection of my boots. It is an oil that sort of has the consistency of lard.

btw, I'm in my thirties...

i'm wearing World Cups

If the Copa's came in an all white color then I would definetly try a pair.

The Copa's cost around 149.99$ CAD here in Vancouver

Do you think there's a chance the Copa's would come out in a White color? sad.gif

Yeah i heard that too, and my two pairs of Supernova's both split within a few months this season so i decided to stop using Dubbin for most of the time. I can't really say how well the Copa's are doing at the moment as i have only had them for about 1 - 2 months. On some parts around the shoe where there is extra pressure on it (from turns, shooting, etc) it has lifted up a bit from the sole plate thing but it hasn't actually split. Nothin major but as i said before i can't say much about it because i haven't had it for long. No problems as yet though. Btw, i'm trying to get my hands on some "Chelsea Leather Food" as i have heard good things about it but the postage costs to australia from soccer.com and other sites is far too expensive.
ADIKeeper
I'm almost 100% sure the Copas will never be any other color than black and white. If it ain't broke, don't fix it, right?

Another thing to keep a heads up for is now all the Copa's are produced in Germany and not Indonesia. They will be higher of quality now that the production has changed. Got this info from TeamKeeper at www.goalkeeperzone.com.
soccer808
Whats the difference with the german copas and the copas anyway???
yorkie
German Copa's are hand stitched, made better all round.
ADIKeeper
I belive both are hand stitched. The Germans overlap the leather under the seams of the stripes and other important areas to make them more durable. They usually last longer than the Indonesian Copas.

from what i know, both the regular & german copas manufacturing processes are the same.

one smaller detail is that the regular copa s/n is 15508 whereas the german one is 015110

i heard that from jun/jul this year, all copas will be made only in germany

My Copas turned slightly dark green around the toe. But I never cleaned them or anything. They lasted me 1 year before the toe started tearing off from the sole. Maybe I should get it stitched by the cobbler like that other kid did in one of the thread.

Oh really? Hahahaha. My bad, didn't even notice that. That was funny though. So what you going to do about that stitched lotto?

cOPAS ARE FOR OLD MEN PLAYING BOWLS ON A LAWN
ADIKeeper
Think about it...the Copas aren't much different than the Puma Classics or even the KSL's for that matter. A lot of the boots kind of evolved from the Copa...

So there's really no reason to be crying about some old dude wearing Copa's when he'd meg you just as easily wearing Vapors or whatever you waste money on.
Stevie
Who the hell would still want to wear these?

That's a bit rough. I don't like the look of them but perhaps Camerony judges a boot not just on its looks.

Who the hell would judge a boot based on looks over function? Copas may well be my next boot. I'm 32 and have worn many different boots.
Becks23
i agree, you little shits are are so caught up in predators thinking you'll ACTUALLY be able to put swerve on the ball, and wearing Vapors in hopes it will make you run faster

ADIKeeper
I'd be willing to bet good money that if that boot came out in white...they'd be all over it...

i definately want to. remember soccer is not fashion. theres more to a pair of boots than its looks.

ps i myself have a few pairs of flashy boots, but none have performed better than the classic lotto stadios

What do you have against Copa's? One of the most globally popular and worn shoes and your knocking them! Face it, just because they don't look cool you think they suck. You can stick with your flashy pretty boy shoes.
mufcforever
Yeh and you can stick with your old ugly grampa shoes! mf_tongue.gif
yorkie
Will do
mufcforever
Then why bother argue just because you can't accept that the Pulses or Vaporrs or total 90 3 or 2's are better!
