Hey fellas i am a good player with an excellent right foot however my left foot is terrible, please tell me some methods i can use to better my left foot, thanks.
Tha Carter III
Something that really helped me with my left was using a wall and kicking and trapping with my left.
It helped my striking,touch,and mobility.
Dirty Sanchez
Whenever I practise by myself or with others, I always try to use my left foot as much as my right one, if not more, in order to make sure that I can be as two-footed as possible. This means shooting, passing, crossing, dribbling, and controls.
I have noticed a remarkable improvement in my left foot and am now practically two-footed.

So the moral of the story is, practice makes perfect.Try just running around, dribbling, shooting by yourself on a net only with oyur left foot. I'm sure it'll do you some good.

Devote about 70% of your practice time to your left foot. I'm not sure how old you are, but starting younger can really help. I rarely use my left foot, but I probably have the best left foot on my team because I had an incredibly technically-oriented coach when I was younger.

One important thing to note is that no matter how much you practice with your weaker foot generally, it is important to practice specifics. For example, in my case, I can pass and shoot well lefty, but specialized passes and shots (outside bending, knuckler, chip) are beyond me at this point.

Every time you play, consciously play with your left foot. Make it stronger than your right foot.

(I just gave this advice to someone else 5 minutes ago, hehe)

I've been registered for a week nearly and i've just been lokking round the site and this is my 1st ever post.

If you want help with your left foot, every training session for about a month try and use your left foot as much as you can and this will help a lot especially shooting and taking freekicks and also corners.

You've just got to get comfortable with your left foot man. Just keep dribbling with it, traping with it.

This is what I did and I'm almost even with both my feet now. I can do moves with both feet and have scored 4 our 8 goals this season my left foot. I play Center Midfield.

I set the ball down. And ran up to it as I'm gonna kick it with my left. I don't kick, just practicing to get the right feeling with my left. I did this for about 10 minutes everytime I went out and played.

Then I actually practiced kicking it.

If you don't kick left footed, you might notice it feel weird to kick with it. Get the RIGHT FEELING WITH IT!

practice does make perfect. just forget about your dominant foot and use your left foot for everything.

To be honest i suck pretty bad with my left compared to my right foot, so what i do is the small passes that you make with mates downt eh park that you would normally use your right with just use your left, just keeping passing with your left, and it will feel more natural as you get better, also just pass it back against a wall with your weaker foot, that way you dont have to do it with anybody.
So basically just keep racticing and it will come, its not going to happen over night.

when i was 7 my father (who is my soccer coach too) told me to train my left foot only.. so thats what i did..
now. Im 16 i hit very hard with my left(harder that with my right) , lets put it this way my stronger leg is the left leg.. but i cant drible with it :/..
so i use my right leg for dribling
left leg-shots
right leg-dribles..
and btw 4-6 months of training ur left leg u will become a lefty biggrin.gif

just practise man who cares if you look like a fool at the start because you will improve fast.
try everything and anything you can do with your right foot, but with your left foot.
i practised for maybe 2 months in the summer a few years ago with my left foot and now it is equal with my right, i think i have better technique with the left foot now...

im a natural right footed player but i play left fullback .. so i needed to lear how to cross and such with my left .. what i did was practice running up to the ball but i would not kick it.. i did this to get the right form .. make sure ur using ur opposite are for balance and jus practice hitting the ball against the wall.. im still practicing cuz i want tow be able to use both feet equally
mido4life
well, there a couple of things that worked for me,

1) how did your right foot get so strong...try to do the same thing with your lef foot!
2) work on your technique first...do it in slow motion so you can mimic the proper technique for the skill you use (like crossing, passing shooting etc.)
3) gain confidece with your left foot, and start to use it more regularly in practice and in games.

it takes a long time, but the only way to improve, is by practice, practice and practice. the longer you train your left, the faster you will learn.

hope that helped

I think there is only 1 real answer to this problem.

Use your left more and more often.

Simple.

in your spair time try to do as many keepy uppys as you can with just your left side...you'll struggle at first but it improves your touch control and co-ordination with your left
