Me and my dad have been thinking of making the toe area of football boots harder because i nearly broke my toe being stamped on so we were thinking of stuff to make it harder i know this sounds stupid but there is something like this on the nike mystics astroturf
got any ideas

well its all about compromise...u have added strength you would lose the free ness of the boot! losing control but making boot sturdy

thats wot i said 2 my dad but he said the compromise would be worth it .
we tried puting plastic in some old boots and it felt alright butdidnt cover my whole toes and wen pressure was put on it dug in 2 my feet

Are you going to cover your body in plastic when you go a walk, just incase you managed to get yourself knocked down by a bus? Its just one of the risks in football I'm afraid.

Rest some more then, go see your doctor/physio and see what they say. Wrapping your toe tightly with Microfibre tape (with a fluffy dressing type thing below it, depending on how bad) is also good for recovering from broken toes.

If u make the toe too hard it could be very dangerouse for other players, what if u clips sum 1 in the calf its bad enough without ne thing added.

a quick tip for you, and one used by many top pros.

put a layer of thin bubble wrap under the tounge of your boot, and also behind your shinpads. Its one of the best shock absorbers you can use that is also light and flexible enough for use in sport. It offers good protection against metatarsal and similar injuries.

I suppose you could fit more to the toe area for more protection, guess its just a case of trial and error.

hope this helps

Imagine the sound as u run happy.gif

How do you secure it in place? I imagine through the course of the match, it would shift a lot and be uncomfortable.

I don't think it's worth it. I've been playing football for about 13 years and I can only remember being stamped on my foot once or twice. I've certainly never had any injuries from it.
sportz4life10
it's part of the game my friend.

it would be like a basketball player wrapping all their fingers and padding them before they play...
