Hello all im a footwear design student from Leicester Uk,
Im just putting this post up to trying to gain a little market research,
if i where to design a football boot for my final year project,
what would you guys like to see,. or what is more important a nice looking boot with loads of fancy gismos like predator techno stuff or a nice shape with correct colour details. im just asking because im thinking of designing one as part of my final year projects.

I have to disagree with this one. I'd like to see a bit of innovation, yet still keeping the boot relatively simple (think Nomis/Copas)

Yeah, it looks awful and would destroy any feel/touch a boot had.

keep the boots relatively simple but try to ensure comfort. Look at diadora boots, great leather, some innovation without sacrificing touch. Do make it innovative but try not to over do it is the trick for me.

make sure the boots have a sexy shape like the vapors but with the technology of pulses. And make sure they are light weight.

try to come up with something that would be the new big thing...like vapors are great cuz their light..predators have the island things...etc..

well........it has to have predator elements.

Don't try to reinvent the wheel, but push the envelope with something that is unique. By all means, don't make something like that Pig apparatus. That thing is ugly as sin.

Keep the boots simple with the essentials and with USEFUL innovations.
Try to emphasise on comfort cuz that is the most important factor in boots and try to come up with innovations that helps it.
Creativity is the key and dont ever copy ideas or come up with stupid stuff that dont help at all.
Think of what an upgraded Copa Mundial (not 7406) would be like by keeping all the good stuff and coming up with modern innovations that improves it.
Colour-wise i would say come up with darker colours like black or blue cuz they would not be a pain to clean compared to other colours like yellow or white. Flashy colours (gold,chili red,blaze orange) might work as well though they are risky.
Be creative and dont go overboard.

If it's for a final year project for University they'd love something innovative and new so I think you should concentrate on finding something there (like a new alternative to blades or studs which is a very common issue at the moment) or something to do with different materials.

Personally if I was having a totally custom boot it would be fairly light, quite simple in design, it would be nicely padded for comfort and the kicking area would be very clean and large like the F50s.

As for the design of a boot. My advice is something with a retro feel, retro is back in fashion big time.
