No it's just tape but way, way too much, just silly amounts,also if you look it isn't level at the top and I dont think material would be that un-even

you are both right because he tapes it first then put the "sock holders" on. I have a poster where its really visible

he's wearing his preferred socks, he cuts off his official manutd socks at the ankle, slips it on and then wears his prefered sock (thinner or thicker socks) and then tapes where his socks and the real football socks meet.

Its probably just strapping tape. That way it would provide support for your ankle too. Though usually you get strapped under your sock, so its not just for that. I guess he thinks it hepls his touch. Plenty of others do it too.

This guy is right. You others dont really know what your talking about. I've tried it and its really comfortable and imo it looks good to.
