Agreed without a doubt. However, today, as usual, Refs = Lakers fans.

I can understand the no call on Luke Walton at the end of regulation time. But Nash was definitely fouled during the tie up for the "jump ball." thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif

It's damn impressive what the Lakers are doing, lead 3-1 and Kobe always scored below 30 points.
I would be delighted to see them, the Kings, Clippers and Mavs go through to the next round.
Dallas and Dirk would be on their way to the finals then I believe, I guess vs Detroit as Miami already struggle vs Chicago.

This could be a season to remember in Dallas, Texas.
Come on Dirk, win the title to bring NBA TV to Germany beer.gif .

Well Nash put a stiff arm in Sasha's chest so lets call it even. Plus this whole series has been about make up calls. We got all the calls in game 2 because the refs looked at the tape and saw kobe get hit on the head as he drove to the basket when the lakers were down 4 in the first game, even Thomas admitted to the hit as well. Speaking of Thomas, did anyone else see his face as Kobe put up the jumper...it was like oh shit!
I don't know about that MVP report, supposedly Kobe was 6th on their ballot. I just find that hard to believe.

Didnt expect them to take a 3-1 lead vs Suns.

Hey Josh! how bout them Timberwolves. Yeah tongue.gif

Thats what keeps amazing me about the Lakers, the way they seem to pull off miraculous shots at the end of a close playoff game. Takes me back to that three pointer against the Kings a few years back and that .03 second shot against the Spurs a few years later. Now this...unbelieavable, they're like the Yankees: you hate 'em but you gotta admit theres like magic there.

The Lakers had magic when they had Shaq. I'll admit that they are a decent team now and Kobe seems to have learned to pass once in a while. But my hate for the Lakers goes back to when they really had magic. Magic, Kareem, Worthy, Rambus.... those teams had something special....and had the rings to show for it. This current team doesn't hold a candle to those teams.

About those Timberwolves....ugh. Sank faster than the Titanic. Looks like we might loose Garnet. Quite simply, you can not be a contender with at least a very good guard and a very good forward. Sam Cassell was a cancer in the locker room but we never replaced his talent. Sigh.

Ok, this team isn't as good as the ones in 80's, but it is decent enough...like liverpool team...hard working with a bit of magic. smile.gif

I was about to ask you which team do you support because no way you can get away after having a dig at my team...but before that I realised Timberwolves are your team...so no need for a dig, wolves are themselves a mess which nobody needs to have a dig at. tongue.gif

Where are you from? Sound like a glory hunter tongue.gif

This Lakers team is your average playoff team. They are not championship material. I think that this series would look very different if Phoenix had a healthy Stoudemire.

Teams like Detroit, San Antonio & even Miami are at a different level than the Lakers.

The Wolves? well, we are so sad. So sad. Our owner, Glen Taylor, seems to thin our team had enough talent but just didn't perform. There is a problem there. I'm not optomistic for the upcoming years.

Suns and Spurs won in the end to make it 2-3 / 3-2 in the series.
I expect San Antonio do close it at Sacramento next game, also expect Lakers to beat the Suns at home.

Then it would be all set for a Texas battle between San Antonio and Dallas. I am pretty sure that the winner of this series will make it to the finals against Detroit.
Dallas look good this season, hopefully they can get their act together in the next round, won't be that comfortable again as it was vs Memphis in the first round.

Well yes I follow this stuff..........Basketball is my second love really.........and my American relatives live in New York.....so naturally I support The Knickerbockers.......I remember seeing highlights of them with Houston and Spreewell and Ewing.......L J (I only know him by his nickname which is LJ) and co. When they played very rough with less talent.....and nearly got themselves a Championship..........well lost interest for a few years....but spent a month or so in America recently and I understand that they have pretty much done a Leeds.......Marbury Francis, and ....forgot his name....uh he's black (no help? haha) number 5.....they are the good players at the moment.....but besides that we have a bunch of bobos on overpaid contracts......hopefully we get Rudy Gay in the draft (saw him play....remind me of Lebron if he would bulk up)......to the playoffs....I would pick Miami HEAT over Dallas Mavericks....my setup dey go like this

HEAT beat BULLS cleveland beat DC Indiana over Nets Detroit over whoever they go play

HEAT over Indiana Detroit over Cleveland

HEAT over Detroit (they will be hungrier side)

King over Spurs Dallas and LA clippers already advance according to the website and Lakers over Suns

Dallas over Spurs (same reason Detroit shall lose) Clipper over LA

Dallas over Clipper

Miami over Dallas

Unless Dallas can sign Mutumbo from 10 years ago...ONeal will dominate

Nice! Although this team doesnt give me the same good vibes as last year's. I'm definitely anti-trade in that regard. Antoine, Posey and JWill have been disappointments. Not to mention GP altough he wasn't part of the trade.

No doubt, he's incredibly talented. Arguably as talented as MJ. MJ didn't need the best center (at the time) in the game to win championships though. Kobe did. tongue.gif

That was Marion picking Nash up off the court after game 4 right? When he cost his team the game almost like he did last night?
Or was that a picture of them trying to guard kobe last night when he put 50 on all three of them together?
Lakers should have won last night, the Suns got lucky. Series isn't over yet, we still have Kobe.
The only thing that worries me is the lakers (excluding kobe) looked really tired last night. We still have the best coach in b-ball, and I would expect some brilliant coaching on Saturday. You won't see Smush go 0 for 5 tomorrow night either.
Kwame Brown has effectively been taken out of this series and he was our most important player. Some alledged sexual assualt case on him now really fucked with his head and we have no back up center.
btw: i love how no one complains about the officiating now, even though that was the greatest difference in fouls called for one team over the other in the series (+7 for fouls by the lakers)

The heat are lucky they are in the east, the way they played the first series. We all know the Pistons are going to take this whole thing.

I didn't actually see the game so I can't comment on the officiating. However, just because one team has more fouls, doesn't mean the officating wasn't "fair."

My point about the photo was to harp on Kobe's individuality vs. Nash's team play. Nash has something like 13 assists I read! Add Kobe's pts. with Kobe's assists and that is still more than Nash's though.
jrlm8
Alot of charges were called on one team and alot of blocks on the other. I saw the game btw, so I will comment. It was a joke.

Its kind of easy to get alot of assist when you don't play defense and you just run out for the break. Yeah, I am talking about you Steve.
An MVP that doesn't play defense, I still can't believe it. Now he is back to back too, amazing.

I still got the lakers taking this in 7 btw.

Yeah, it was a tough break, and like most people are saying, there was something up in the second half. He only took 3 shots, and scored 1 point. I feel bad for Kobe though, he carried this shit team for 80 games, Lamar helped out for 3 then disappeared. Atleast Scottie showed up for more than 3 games a year.
Oh, btw, I hope you like Lamar and Kwame, Josh, the Lakers are coming for Garnett. banana.gif

Pistons never sweep, its over in 5. Hopefully Lebron can dunk on Wallace in one game, that would make watching the series worthwhile.
Joshinho
Yeah, I'm not too optomistic about the Wolves future right now. Garnett is pissed at his surrounding cast and I can't blame him....yet the owner (Glen Taylor) has publicly said that the team should have enough talent to compete.

Could well be that Garnett will be leaving this summer. crying_new.gif

Pistons & Cavs: This is the playoffs. You can see a blowout in one game and a blowout the other way in another. Obviously the Pistons are the favorites, but I think Cleveland can get at least a game or two to make it interesting. Lebron is the real deal.

As Kobe would say "Maybe he just wasn't hugged enough as a kid."

And what are you talking about in the Pistons series....its 2-0. Both should have been blowouts but the Pistons stopped trying in the 2nd game, yet I agree, the Lebrons should be able to steal one.

Hey, how are Shaqs heat doing against the Nets? mmmm Pudding.

Detroit are on their way to the conference finals, I think they will win it 4-1 and possibly don't even face Miami which would be a big surprise IMO.

Anyway, Dallas is back in the series after an impressive win at San Antonio.
Too bad they couldn't win game one despite they had pretty good control of the game.
Whatever, things look promising for Dallas this year.
