If Shaq wins it this year, how long before he sends a shout out to Kobe, pointing a finger at Wade, and saying: He could have been you Kobe!
Holla at your boy!
Another craptacular season! (from a LA fan point of view ofcourse

Kobe has usually been the more vocal of the two in their past spats...at least that is my take on it. Anyway, if I was Shaq, I might succumb to the guilty pleasure of rubbing Kobe's smug little nose in it.
No condolences on the craptacular season either

Then again, your season was fantastic in comparison with the T-Wolves. ...doesn't look any better for our future either. Rumblings from ownership etc. don't really point to getting any better players. Could be that we loose KG.

Detroit finally played Pistons basketball again. 2-3 now, it's the right thing to let Shaq&Wade score while they try to keep the rest of the Heat out of the game. If they can pull it off again then we can look forward to a nice game 7.
As for Dallas - Phoenix, whoever wins tonight has big chances to make it to the finals.
Hopefully Dallas can get their act together and win this one.
How should KG come to L.A. then?

For Odom + Walton or how should a trade look like?

The Lakers don't have enough to offer for Minnesota to get Garnett IMO, not too many talents, no high draft picks, really not much which could make it an attractive deal.
Maybe New York will offer a young talent plus 1 or 2 of their attacking minded swingmen for KG.
I can see New York get Garnett, they have a crappy team but some pretty good guys to offer though.

Great to see Pistons win. Wallace had a good game defensively and scored vital 8 points. Prince and Antonio did well as well I just hope they continue to play the same way and the seies 4-3

That would be a good deal. I can't see NY being able to sign KG, they are so far over the cap its crazy. Isiah Thomas is the worst GM in the game by far.
Lakers will be back, hell we were only one Kwame Brown stupid play away from making it this far. If he would have stayed his ground and not jumped at Tim Thomas, we would be talking about the Lakers and Dallas right now. Next year, Kobe will be back, I just hope Shaq doesn't get it this year.

Thomas is the worst GM, agreed, but in case that KG has still some years of his contract left New York should have some good player material + enough big contracts to make the deal possible. Whether Minnesota are looking for this kind of player material is another question though.
But who knows, maybe something like Francis + Curry for KG would be possible considering the cap space and would also be a nice deal in both GM's eyes.
But yes, in case that KG becomes free agent this summer which I think he won't (hasn't he just signed a new deal in the last years?) New York has no chance to sign Garnett due to cap reasons.

Walton is a decent player....but Walton and aging Devon George and a crappy 2nd round pick (just the hypothetical I picked out of the air) for KG? Come on, that is a crazy insane deal.
Now Odom + Walton for KG....that is in the realm of fairness. Still a better deal for LA in my opinion, but the Wolves definitely need a good big man. Odom would be an upgrade in that department. If McCants can continue to develop, I might actually be able to live with that trade.

After I saw a re-run of Dirk putting 50 past the Suns I gotta say Dallas has really developed into a much better team over the years. They can still be the offensive powerhouse they were with Nash&Finley but their defence makes them that good.
I hope that the depth in the roster will win them the series with Phoenix.
As for Miami, they didn't even came close to Detroit's dominance in the regular season but who cares about now? Surely not Shaq

. Detroit had a healthy starting five all season long but IMO they depend too much on those 5 guys as they didn't really had the needed bench support to win the title.
Even Milicic didn't impress in the few minutes he played for Detroit, they shouldn't have traded him IMO as they hardly have young talents that could play a role in the rotation next season.
Anyway, congrats to Miami, hopefully they will lose the finals in case that they face Dallas.

Detriot will probably go through a re-vamping in the off-season and some players will be traded away. They are on the steep hill down. They looked really bad last night.
I sure hope Dallas or Phoenix shows up in the final and shuts down the Heat.

With Nelly our philosophy was simply "outscore the other opponent," very similar to the way Phoenix plays now really. But with Avery's fastidious approach to defense we're in the position to go to the Finals in our franchise's history. Howard has improved leaps and bounds, defensively as much offensively. He's so athletic, can guard anyone, as well as provide the offensive burst, I can really see him being a superstar in the future. Diop has been key for us all season as well, his long arms contest so many shots and he's constantly working hard, I'm glad to see him starting to get the recognition he deserves.

That was there exact problem when they played San Antonio last year. The Spurs always had quality players coming from the bench, such as Robert Horry and Brent Barry. That's another quality Dallas has; we simply have a deep bench and when Van Horn and Stackhouse are on form we normally look unstoppable.

sandesh
Jun 3 2006, 01:59 PM
Yeah but who do you think can stop terry, harris and howard going in with speed? Shaq has one weakness and that is speed. Mavs are a speedy bunch who can torch slow teams like the heat. Did you see how harris was so amazing against SA and not so amazing against the SUNS? Miami are much more similar to san antonio than phoenix.
Besides, we haven't even talked about Dirk, who has been the MVP of the playoff series.

Dallas showed up for one half of b-ball and are in the NBA finals vs the HEat. The Series starts on Thursday, June 8th. Should be interesting to see, Dallas might be able to run the Heat and make Shaq ineffective, but if they can't do that, they should just hack a shaq the whole game bc they have no center.
I'll take Dallas in 7.

Absolutely delighted to see Dallas in the finals vs Miami now.
The team really impressed me in the second half of game 6, I believe the chances to win the title are pretty good. Dallas have more offensive weapons, a good defense aswell.
If they can slow down either Shaq or Wade in any games it would be massive. If not then slow down the supporting cast of the Heat. I really can see Dallas nick this series too, looking forward to it.
Prediction: Dallas wins the title in 6 games.

Not a pretty win by the Mavs, but they got it done. Dirk only had 16 but Jason Terry stepped up huge. Last time Nowitzki had a garbage game, he came out and put up 50 on the Suns. I dont think the Heat can handle Dallas. Just me though.

After I watched some parts of the game I have to say that I'm really impressed how Dallas overcame a combined 7 of 28 shooting night by Nowitzki and Howard. In previous years they would have lost such a game IMO as the defense really stepped up in game one.
Shaq, Wade and Walker made their points but Dallas slowed the Heat down nicely.
Dallas has probably the best bench in the league, I believe they'll have more energy left in them which should win them the finals.

Yet another victory for the Mavs! I wasn't completely surprised honestly. The way we've been playing, with Dirk and Stackhouse finally coming alive in conjunction with a deplorable showing from Shaq and Dwyane, the win was altogether unexpected.
One thing is sure, if Miami wants a chance in hell of winning this series Antoine Walker cannot receive the minutes he has been of late. He was terrible here in Dallas and continues to be terrible for Miami.

Jun 12 2006, 12:44 PM
Damn, only reading the boxscore is impressive on this one. Dallas shot almost 50 percent, Miami below 42.
Miami struggeld from the line again, Shaq wasn't in the game at all, Wade was below his best while Dirk, Howard & Stackhouse had big games offensively.
Dallas also controled the boards (46-32), great stuff. From a Mavs fan point of view you can't play a game better than they did it last night.
As for the 3 games in Miami, they will be different but Dallas need to take advantage of Miami's big pressure.
They need to win either game 3 or 4 and then I can't see them lose the finals anymore, can't see them lose 3 in a row then.
Things are getting exciting

Its Avery's turn to adjust now. Riley made some brilliant adjustments in order to counter the Mav's double teaming of Shaq mainly with players like Posey, Haslem, and Anderson cutting to the basket, as well relying more on Wade. Now Avery will have to rethink his strategy, does he continue to double Shaq every time, or does he concentrate more on Wade?
I really hope Riley trusts his bench a little more. I know that Posey and Anderson can take on a bigger role for this team. Kudos to Posey as well as Haslem for doing a magnificent job on Dirk throughout the series.

Wow! This series went from practically over for the Heat (almost down 3-0) to a complete momentum shift that has them favorites to win Game 5 (can make it 3-2 in Miami).
When Dallas made that comeback in Game 3 I thought this was it, they were gonna go up 3-0 and win it sooner or later. But Miami came back strong, and then continued where they left off in Game 4. Dwyane Wade is simply phenomenal, can't wait for Game 5.

So aside from highlights I haven't been watching the finals, but Wayde is doing niggas up, I was expecting Miami to get through with ease but the Mavs are really good and I think I'm going to start watching these last couple of games.
