Kobe Bryant is intrigued by the thought of a Scottie Pippen comeback and would love him to do it with the Lakers.

Cleveland - there in real need of a point guard but i dont think they have the pieces to get bibby. Rumors about Kidd going to Cleveland or LA. I would rather have him Kobe.

Well in the Lakers defense, we can get a whole lot more than J-Kidd for Bynum. And those rumors are BS anyway, Nets and Lakers have been at this since January and the two conditions to the trade when negotiations started were Kobe and Bynum are untouchable. So I don't think you can believe the reports now saying the deal is off because Bynum isn't included. It is still 27 hours til trade deadline, plenty can happen.

A Bynum+Odom package was meant to pick up a PF/C allstar. So I would say J. O'Neal, Gasol, or Garnett. However, Mitch didn't want to deal Bynum to West for Gasol....so that wouldn't happen either.

i hope the lakers are able to sign kidd.....also hopefully they can step out of their current 5 game slump...any thoughts on how far the lakers will get in the playoffs?

Carter scored a season-high 46 points, but Kidd shot 2-for-14 in what might have been his final game with the Nets in a 111-107 loss to the New Orleans Hornets on Wednesday night.

That took a back seat to the trade rumors that have surrounded Kidd and Carter as Thursday's 3 p.m. deadline approaches. Kidd has reportedly been shopped to the Los Angeles Lakers.

"You'd like to stay in one place," he said. "I've really enjoyed New Jersey, but things happen fast in this league and you have to be prepared. Especially after you've been traded the first time, you realize it can happen at any time."

Kidd got a warm reception from the crowd at Continental Airlines Arena when he was introduced, and one fan held up a sign that read, "L.A. Is No Place For A Kidd."

The Atlanta Hawks today acquired guard Anthony Johnson from the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for the Hawks’ 2007 second-round draft pick, according to Hawks Executive Vice PresidentGeneral Manager Billy Knight.

The Portland Trail Blazers today acquired guard/forward Fred Jones, a former Oregon Duck, and future considerations from the Toronto Raptors in exchange for guard Juan Dixon. As part of the trade, Jones has agreed not to exercise the player option year of his contract, meaning his current deal will expire at the end of the 2007-08 season.

Vladimir Radmanvic admits lie to Lakers about injury

It turns out that Vladimir Radmanovic lied to the Lakers about how he got injured last week. The forward is out around eight weeks with a separated right shoulder.

He initially claimed to have slipped on some ice while walking with his hands in his pockets.

But Friday evening Radmanovic released the following statement via the Lakers:

“First of all I’d like to apologize to my teammates, coaches, Lakers management and Lakers fans for initially lying about the circumstances of the injury to my shoulder last weekend. I’d like to, however, come forward and set the record straight at this time. The truth is that I hurt myself in a fall while snowboarding. Being young and sometimes immature, I initially panicked and made up a false story about how I hurt myself. However, over the past few days my conscience has been bothering me terribly. I am not a dishonest person and could no longer live with this deception. Therefore, I came forward today and told the truth to the Lakers. It is just as important to me though, to be honest with Lakers fans and the public in general, therefore I am making this statement and apology. I can’t express enough how deeply sorry I am, not only for the activity that led to my injury, but also for the initial deception of my story. I hope for everyone’s understanding and forgiveness. I vow to work as hard as possible to rehabilitate my shoulder and rejoin my teammates as soon as possible and to help us become a team that Lakers fans can be proud of.”

Pure InsideHoops.com speculation here: While Radmanovic probably did have a guilty conscience, as he said above, it's also possible that someone witnessed him getting hurt. So not only would he have to maintain a lie, but he'd also have to constantly worry about someone coming forward who saw what really happened. It seems no one did, but you never know who comes out of the woodwork.

Anyway, good that the truth came out.

The Lakers don't have much depth, and Radmanovic is certainly better than any currently-available free agents. I predict the team fines him, a bunch of funny articles come out mocking him a bit, and that's the end of it.

Larry Brown, Vince Carter to Bobcats?
Charlotte Bobcats general manager Michael Jordan wrote an appeal to season ticket-holders, promising, "It is our intention to spend what it takes to attract the 'right' talent to our team, whether through free-agent signings or trades." The Bobcats have the league's lowest payroll and sagging attendance.

There's speculation the Bobcats will pursue New Jersey Nets' forward Vince Carter, who played at North Carolina, and coach Larry Brown, another former Tar Heel. Current Bobcats' coach Bernie Bickerstaff was not mentioned anywhere in the letter.

So Odom tore his Labrum in the game on Friday night. Looks like he is done for the season. This season has not been kind to any team injury wise. Lakers are in for a long battle to hold on to a play off spot now.

Nope. That was a knee injury. This is the same injury he suffered two years ago tho. And Luke Walton still hasn't returned from his injury which isn't looking good. Lakers lost today to the Suns in a good game. Everyone's favorite point guard, Smush Parker, went for 3 points and 2 turnovers...stellar. absolute class right there.
