Krstic over Howard, surely you're kidding??

I actually voted for Krstic, no joke. My ballot already has anti-Lakers bias (no Shaq, no Kobe, no Derek Fisher), and the fact that I voted for Krstic shows that it contains a certain amount of pro-New Jersey bias as well.
When I get around to posting my N.H.L. All-Star ballot, I will probably be biased towards voting for former and current Islanders players.
Another road win for the Magic

And our winning streak against the Heat is now up to seven games
Gotta love it!

Hope the west wins:) Perhaps you can sense some Mavs - bias in my voting ^^
And the Miami Heat are heading toward their
11th straight loss despite a good comeback performance from Shaq. Their dismal form shows no sign of abating, with the stands in the American Airlines Arena looking more like it did before either Shaq or Wade arrived on the South Florida scene
The team is clearly a shambles, and there were rumors recently that Pat Riley would step down as the head coach either during or after the season. This time, however, he won't have his puppet Stan Van Gundy to call upon.
A little less than six minutes left, the Heat are down by 23 points -- having allowed 110 points to a Bulls team that was beaten soundly by the Magic last night!

Maybe because Duncan is the greatest power forward of all-time.
Fuck No knick is making it this year, I'm use to it though.
The Heat's losing streak now stands at 13 games, after losing three straight home games to Chicago, Portland, and now the New York Knicks. That's right, they lost to the New York Knicks... at home
I haven't seen a former championship team fall apart this quickly and dramatically since the Bulls in the post-MJ era. The difference is, this Miami team actually has talent. Pat Riley, a legendary coach he may be, now looks like a man who is already regretting not riding off into the sunset after he took the team to the Championship.
Meanwhile, the Magic won a home game (not something we've done very often) against the Blazers, the same team that outclassed the Heat the night before.

The losing streak for the Miami Heat now stands at fourteen after another tough home loss, this time to the Cleveland LeBroneers.

My condolences to Miami fans who are suffering all of this.
Shaquille O'Neal stated one time that he wanted enough rings to fill up all five fingers on one of his hands. So much for that idea. The way things are going I guess he will have to retire empty-fingered.

Does anyone know anything about buying basketball jerseys? I'm interested in purchasing a Chris Quinn home Miami Heat jersey, but NBA.com says that it would be in the range of the upper 100's. This is surely a ridiculous price for a jersey. Is there anywhere else to get them?

That's twice now the Magic have beaten the prohibitive favorites in the East, if not all of the NBA. We wouldn't have won games like these last year, but now that we have more options on offense and a rapidly improving Dwight Howard on tow, we could be a force to be reckoned with come Playoff time.

Lakers just traded Kwame Brown, Javaris Crittenton, and 2 first round picks for Pau Gasol and a 2nd Round Pick.
I don't know what I am more excited about Kwame being gone or getting Pau.
Either way, great day to be a Lakers fan.
Now Kobe can't complain about the Lakers management not trying their best.

Another day, another victory for the Magic men, and once again, it was Hedo stepping up in the clutch, draining two free throws with less than three seconds to go. This, on the heels of yet another beatdown of the Miami Heat at home (our eighth straight win over Miami)!
The Heat, less than two years removed from winning the championship, now have the worst record in the NBA

I criticize the Lakers' management too, but Mitch Kupchak should be GM of the year.
A) Pulling off this Gasol trade
B ) Holding onto Bynum when everyone ridiculed him last year.
C) Fisher.
D) Ariza
If Lakers can pull out five wins out of this road trip (nine games), we will be in good shape for when we get Bynum back.
Starting line up of:
Fisher-Bryant-Odom-Gasol-Bynum
With the depth on our bench, I am going to start dreaming of the finals again.

It was basically Shaq, Kobe, and a slew of underrated by very important role players: Robert Horry (now with San Antonio), Derek Fisher (now back with L.A.), Rick Fox, Glen Rice, Ron Harper, and Brian Shaw; Horace Grant (former Magic favorite

); Devean George (can't remember where he is now); and Tyronn Lue (see Devean George)
Only names I can come up with at the top of my head

Hope it helps!

Very good news for Lakers...
Cavs(-3,5), Pinna, 4/10
Celtics should have problems without Garnett today, as Cavs have strong and in form duo under basket. Cavs are in strong form generally, no need to mention LeBron. Even without Varejao, Cavs will be highly motivated and will find a way to win in last quarter IMO. Small stakes resommended as this is still strong and full of confidence Boston. Good luck.

Yeah, Garnett out is a massive loss for us, but hopefully the others can make do. We've got a great team this year, but if Garnett, Pierce or R. Allen aren't available you can quickly see the difference.
Read an article that made it sound like Garnett's injury shouldn't keep him out for too long.
(Speaking of injuries, if anybody is into stuff about sports medicine, this was a really interesting article from yesterday's Boston Globe:
Knee Repair )
A buddy got tickets for the game on March 2nd for my b-day. Haven't had a chance to catch the Celtics this year so I'm pretty excited.

Marion wanted out, the heat wanted to get rid of that 20 million a year contract. I think it worked out fine. People are underestimating shaq, he's an all-time great and still can prove to be a big threat.
Fuck I had to see my team blow a 18 point lead vs the spurs on friday only for them to come back from a double digit deficit against the bucks. When the fuck is Isiah going to take that fucking cheesy grin of his face and start getting serious about our team. Crawford is the only person that can score on our team but even then he fucks it up with those wild shots.
In other news there's a big game today, Celtics vs Spurs. I so want the Spurs to blow 'em out.

Must be hard being a Knicks fan these days. Isaiah has really ruined the team, and if he were with any other team in the Association, he would've been kicked to the curb aaaaages ago. Obviously Dolan must see something in him and his team that no-freakin'-body else does.
I still remember the day when the Magic somehow found a taker for Stevie Franchise in the form of the Knicks... I couldn't believe my eyes when I first saw the trade being made!
Anyways, Jason Kidd is about to be traded to the Mavericks for Devin Harris, Stackhouse, etc. That would be the third major deal in the West in the last month or so.

CLEVELAND (AP) -- Cavaliers guard Sasha Pavlovic could miss up to two months because of a sprained left foot, a blow to the defending Eastern Conference champions, who are playing their best ball this season.
Pavlovic got hurt during the third quarter of Wednesday night's win over Washington. He scored 13 points and had seven assists before going out.
The Cavaliers, who have won four straight games and are 11-2 since Christmas, said an MRI and CT scan revealed the injury to Pavlovic.
Pavlovic, who missed training camp in a contract holdout, is averaging 7.3 points and has made 35 starts this season.
Good riddance. Sasha needs to take this time to think about just why we resigned him, because it wasn't for him playing like he is now. And I don't find Mike Brown intelligent to plug Devin Brown into the lineup. I'll bet he starts Gibson and Hughes, and brings Damon Jones off the bench more. He's just stupid enough to do that. The correct answer is, start Devin Brown, with heavy doses of Ira Newble off the bench, and possibly throw in Shannon Brown to see what he can do. I'm sick and tired of Brown not playing these guys and then guys go down with injuries, or contract issues, and the team falls apart. Like when Andy was holding out. You'd think he'd try putting Dwayne Jones and/or Cedric Simmons into the rotation. Instead he starts playing Z like 37 minutes per game. At his age?
LOL at Lebron's worthless MVP talk. Fvck offff.

Feb 14 2008, 12:17 PM
If you can’t understand it you must play like a blind mule, or even worse.....a girl.

It's cool though, basketball needs more femmes.
They do have a league for women (WNBA), it just doesn't get nearly as much press as the NBA -- which helped establish the WNBA in the first place.
I actually prefer college basketball, to be honest, since it's less about the money and more about the fans, the rivalries, and the competition itself. I've gone to a lot of games at a local college (Rollins College), but have yet to attend a Magic game. Well, mainly because I get into Rollins games for free, but that's besides the point
Just saw Doc Rivers at a high school basketball game (his son was playing). He's set to start preparations for the All-Star Game tomorrow, should be exciting times ahead for him.
He's very much a good guy I might add, I remember a few years ago when I bagged groceries for the man while working at a supermarket. Not a Boston fan myself, but it's always good to see him doing well.

It is now the third quarter. I just got done voting for LeBron James to be the Most Valuable Player, not because I like him, but because as of this moment, he has nineteen points, plus a bunch of rebounds and assists. He seems to be leading the way for the Eastern Conference All Stars, who are now up by nine points (I am making this post with about four minutes remaining in the third quarter).
