C'est la vie eh?...Celtics and Lakers, may end up meeting again in the Finals...I don't see anyone knocking them off...And if Bynum gets anywhere near back to his old form, Lakers will pick up the hardware

As a fellow Mavs fan, I'd like to think so as well but we're just not good enough. First off, we have to make sure we even get into the playoffs this year. An 8-8 record doesn't always help in that aspect.

Mavs don't stand a chance in the Western conference it will be an easy Lakers win. All the competition is in the Eastern Confrere.

The Lakers will win it here easily. Possibly sweep the finals if they are in top form.
Where as in the east there are alot of good teams. Pistons, Celtics, Hawks, Heat, Cavaliers.

Definitely not because Indiana was the better team, Phil Jackson brought in the 2nd string way to early with only a 17 point lead. Should have kept Kobe and everyone else in till 7 minutes left then made subs. Complete managerial error and Indiana got lucky.

I can't believe the Mavs gave away Devin Harris. The guy had 47 points, 8 assists and 7 boards against the Suns last week and is making a hell of an impact on the Nets this season, more so than Jason Kidd had done in his last year in Jersey.
Harris also sits 8th in the Race to the MVP Rankings right now, averaging 24 points, 6 assists and 3.6 rebounds per game. Better stats than Kidd has as of now, which I don't even dare to look up.

We should cruise against the Thunder, but you never know... Also, do you have any info on the Josh Howard injury? Regardless of how well we're doing without him, we could surely use him right now.

Actually that was the first Mavs game I have ever been to (2nd NBA game).
The Thunder were winning for most of the game but the Mavs pulled it out in the end. I have no idea about when Josh will be back.
BTW I gave Kevin Durant a hi-5 as he was walking off the court at the end of the game. He is probably my favorite NBA player, and I kind of felt sorry for him after such a tough loss (also because he had to move to Oklahoma).

How does Josh Howard go by unnoticed to so many people? I feel as though Josh will take over Dirk as our go-to-guy in about two years time. He has really become a great player, he also averages above 20 points per game. I think hes a definite candidate for the All-Star game.

Who is going to challenge them? Hornets? Spurs? Blazers?
Hornets aren't even as good as they were last year.
Spurs are too old.
Blazers are too young. They are two years away from a Championship team.
The West is weak this year. The East is strong. It is how the cycle goes.
I think all Laker fans should be worried about LA taking their eye off of the prize and slacking in January or Feb. Boston and Cleveland are going to be fighting it out in the East for home court advantage through the playoffs and LA could become a distant memory. I just hope that LA realizes every game still matters and nothing can be taken for granted.
Big game tomorrow.
Euromast.
Dec 25 2008, 07:03 AM
The Spurs are never too old. But yeah, the Lakers are the best team in the West. But that won't mean anything come playoff time.
Interesting to see though how a couple of years ago, the West was so much stronger than the East and the gears have all shifted now...
