Arsenal and England international star Kelly Smith has won the Nationwide Women's Player of the Month Award for October.
A selection panel, which includes England coach Hope Powell, picked
Kelly following a series of outstanding performances for club and country during the month.
Smith's efforts in October included a hat-trick for England in their record breaking 13-0 victory in Hungary during a World Cup Qualification fixture.
Kelly said: "I am really thrilled to have won this award and I'm
enjoying my football and getting back to my best.
"I want to thank Nationwide for recognising my performances for Arsenal and England.
Nationwide's Chris Hull commented: "Kelly is a class act and we would like to congratulate her on some wonderful performances during October.
"We are delighted that Kelly picked up her specially commissioned Nationwide magnum of champagne from Ashley Cole and hope to see her season go from strength to strength."
