Michael Owen, without a doubt, is electric. I haven't seen too much of the other teams to say that Owen is the fastest though, but that man Henry's pretty quick on the ball isn't he! Ciise is pacy, but not fastest imo.

For flat out speed - Cisse ,Henri Camara, Henry, in no particular order because the difference in pace is probably negligible.

These players for me seem to have impressive acceleration - Owen, Wright-Phillips, Robben, Ljungberg, Rooney, C.Ronaldo, Earnshaw - to name a few.

I would love to see a race between the fastest footballers in the world, it would put these threads to bed!

Not going to dispute Rohmedahl, thought Id just add William Gallas to the list of speedsters. I remember him from behind and at an angle burning past Thierry Henry who was running at a straight line. I think it was early in one of their Champions league games together.

Any idiot knows it's easier to run faster when you don't have the ball. It's about controlling a ball at speed, and Reyes doesn't come close to Ronaldo in that respect.

i believe its rommedahl. Nedum Onuoha(man city) is quite fast as well. He was one of Britain's fastes runners(at youth levels) but he chose to play football instead.

ronaldo didnt have to control the ball then, he was clear of any other players, i know what u mean when its harder to run with the ball, if u watch the clip, u will see that reyes has substantially more pace than ronaldo
