Hi I was just wondering what is going on with Gerrard's tongues in this pic?

I noticed that before on a pair of carricks old black mania's. He was missing a logo from the tongue too. Can't think of a reason for why they do it though, they're not even personalised.

they just look a little woren and don't have a logo

I think that Reebok would have stopped him having the adidas logo on the boots.

theyre just turned upside-down my friend does that w/ his supernovas.

in the first pic u can see an outline of the adidas tr angle

and where the straps are sewed on.....the toungue is for sure turned upside-down.

How do you turn the tongue upside?

you use your hands and turn the toungue 180 degrees upside down....

actually theyre not turned upside down because if they were then the elastic strap would be black

no that would b just turned inside out (the rubber band) it wouldnt change its color if its just turned 180 degrees

So what is the tongue twisted inside? Wouldn't that make it uncomfortable?

I guess the tongue are twisted inside. Or perhaps they are just worn out. Or perhaps he did something to the tongue to make the boot look 'more red'. I guess they first option the most likely. But why would he do that ??

Hmmm, I dont think we'll ever find out why hes done this...but the tongues do look quite good!

He hasn't just twisted them over. The shape is wrong and it'd be stupidly uncomfortable!

It looks like a different type of leather to me, it looks much softer. I bet he just asked for a softer material so that they stay in place and mould around the top of the boot better.

No if the tongue was twisted to where the adidas sign was on the bottom the strap would then be black

how? if you take a tongue and turn it the rubber band will do nothing unless it has something done to it...for example if you actually take the rubber band and spin it with ur hands so that its black... just when you fold it down finally wil it b black if thats what your saying ... i may have mixed my self up..

You can see here that there is no logo on the back, either. I know he has 8 on the back of all his boots, but Adidas may have done this to disguise the red Pulse. Which I think they did a crappy job at doing! He may have been going from Reebok to Adidas, before Adidas bought them out and he might not have had the go-ahead to wear any Adidas logos.

Yea that's what I do too but I put scotch tape and then I melt it.

I'm positive it's just a custom tongue in a different material. You can see from that last pic it's a different material all the way down. I don't think they were trying to disguise the red Pulse, or disguise the fact that they're Adidas boots (the 3 stripes down the side are a big clue! ).

Doesnt anyone think that maybe he asked adidas to make him an all Kang. leather tongue...
now, I dont know why he would, but atleast I came up with a sensible response to what it is...

by the way, if some one can bring up those pics of Kaka's old Red pulse's, u'd see that his tongues are the same leather as the rest of his boot, cause the usual tongue's on them (the Red ones)-atleast I know on mine - are synthetic... I think:they're certainly not Kangaroo leather

It looks like they are just an old pair of boots and they are like that from wear and tear.

so why the adidas logo or his name/number is not present?

maybe he didnt want the ?personalization? on em', IMO having a completely Kangaroo leather toungue like that without any logo or anything is already personalising them

i doubt that... adidas will never agree with a player under contract without a logo on his shoes...

But there is a logo - the logo on the side is proof enough they're Adidas boots.

maybe he just didn't want the adidas logo on the tongue and when adidas were making them didn't put it on there, but why would he not want the logo on there in the first place and they do look like they are made of K-leather
