Spain has a nice crop of young players coming up through the ranks. The talent is there (2nd place in U17WC 2003) it just has to be developed.
I will start a few:
Francesc Fabregas Cesc's rise to stardom has been spectacular. Arsenal 'stole' him from Barca but he has really flourished under the tutelage of Arsene Wenger. He is already a key player at Highbury despite his youth (18). He is a central midfielder of tremendous class and vision. Once he fills his body out a little bit he will be truly one of the best players in the world. The great hope for Spain's NT future.
Sergio Ramos Sergio Ramos became the most expensive defender in the history of La Liga despite only being 19 years old. He is an extremely versatile player who seems to have football engrained in his mind. His natural instincts wherever he plays on the pitch are truly an amzing thing to behold. He combines speed and athleticism with tremendous natural talent.
Jesus Navas This exciting talent was the revelation of last year's La Liga. His slalom runs down the right flank were key to Sevilla's success last season. This season has gotten off to a slow start as a nervous breakdown seriously affected his preparation this summer. Just another amazing talent to come out of Sevilla's cantera. Here is a pic of him:
Fernando Llorente The latest in the rich tradition of Basque players. A classic target man with good height and heading ability. However he is not just size and strength but is also gifted with his feet (He scored a great chip goal in the U20 WC). A good finisher that will be the natural successor to Urzaiz, if he doesnt move elsewhere before. Here is a pic of him:
Raul Albiol A dominating physique is what characterizes this defensive midfielder. Last year he exploded alongside Gabi at Getafe while he was on loan from Valencia. Getafe's midfield duo was one of the biggest surprises in La Liga last year, and a major reason why Quique was such a coveted manager this summer. Albiol is also versatile as he can play CB as well.
Gabi Very classy central midfielder out of Atletico's cantera. Last season he was one of the best CM's in la Liga while on loan at Getafe. A classic midfielder with great vision that can control the tempo of a game. This season has not gone very well for him as he was dropped from the starting lineup by Bianchi. Here is a pic:
Pecci A versatile defender out of another rich Andalusian cantera, Real Betis. A very complete player who excells at Right Back but can also play centre back with great effectiveness.
Please post anymore young Spanish players in here

Gerard Pique Bernabeu (18) Currently at Manchester United who bought him from Barca for 5.25 Mil. His natural position is left wingback. Huge and lanky boy, is about 1.90 m who is good in the air. His speed is ok, as is his technique although he is that big.
Antonio Barragan (18) Right wingback who joined liverpool for free this season instead of signing a pro-contract at sevilla. He has the common size for a wingback with 1.80 m. His strenghts are his offensive instincts while his defense seems to be ok although it needs work. Rafa Benitez was impressed by his displays at the youth teams at sevilla.

^^ Nice!
Israel (18) Betis fans will not miss Joaquin too much if he leaves, as Israel has excited alot of Betis fans with his talent on the right wing. He is fast with very good technique. He played in the game against Real Madrid this season and was quite dangerous on the right flank. Here is a pic:
Juanfran (20) A regular starter on the National Team at every level, this right winger has finally gotten his chance to prove himself in Primera Division with Espanyol. He has good dribbling skills and a very high work rate, however he must work on his team play in order to be great.
Raul Garcia He has been the revelation of the season, and one of the reasons why Osasuna are top of the league. A very talented #10 with good goal scoring ability. He has already scored some spectacular goals this season. Here is a pic:

The Celta youngsters-
Borja Oubiña (23, not so young actually) The heart of the Celta midfield, a product of the team's youth system. A center-midfielder with exceptional vision and playmaking ability. Hopefully one day he can break through onto the NT.
David Silva (19) has been a revelation in Vigo this season. On loan from Valencia this kid from Las Palmas has done an excelent job replacing the injured Gustavo Lopez on the left wing.
Nando.
Nov 22 2005, 12:28 AM
Yeah that Silva kid is all the rage at Valencia. They have VERY high hopes for him.
This is for Just Me:
Oskitz: Real Sociedad (19). This season he is on loan at Eibar. He is a decent prospect who was a finalist in the U17 WC along with Cesc and Jurado. He is an excellent free kick taker but lacks a physical presence. He can play anywhere in the creative zone of the midfield. This season has not been good for him as he has been injured and will be out for at least another month. He is a lefty and is a decent dribbler.
Capel: Sevilla (17). The great Spanish hope. Capel is arguably the biggest Spanish prospect along with Cesc Fabreagas. He debuted in La Liga last year with Caparros while he was only 16! His main strength is his dribbling skills. SPECTACULAR dribbling skills, to the point where it seems like he is actually Brazilian. He has forced countless red cards due to his constant embarrassing of opposing defenders. He plays with trademark long blonde hair. The great Spanish hope and another gem from the amazing Sevilla Cantera. Here is a pic:
Jurado: Real Madrid Castilla (19). Arguably the best player in Castilla along with Soldado, although definitely the most talented. He plays the classic number 10 role and his exquisite technique. He posesses good dribbling skills and has a very effective shot off the dribble. His trademark is the quick stepover and the release a quick shot. He has a penchant for the spectacular. An exciting prospect who was the starting AMC for the 2003 U17 WC finalist team. His main drawbacks are his small stature, and his tendency to be a bit individualistic. Here is a pic:
Soldado: Real Madrid Castilla (20). A classic #9. He came over to Real Madrid's youth system when he was 13 years old from Valencia. Since his debut he has scored a spectacular 145 goals in 165 in all youth levels. Soldado posesses a good combination of physical attributes and technique, but most of all his ability to finish. He reminds me of Vieri (younger days) in that he can whip out a finish, from any position. Great with his head but also posesses a good shot from long range. Also, he does posess the ability to run with the ball at his feet. He will be looking to get some minutes now that Raul is injured. Hopefully, Soldado can be the striker that Real Madrid is looking for. Here is a pic:

Andres Iniesta (21) FC Barca - Iniesta is just the next player in the long line of great Barca CMs. The Masia certainly has a tradition of cultivating the #4 position. However, Iniesta is a bit different as he is a bit more attack minded and can run at defenders near the box, as well as spray passes all over the pitch. A dominant force in all the youth NT categories he has played in, it is only a matter of time before he cracks into the first team. With Deco seemingly off form and not exactly young (28), Barca may be wise to sell the portugese midfielder next sum at a hefty price and start the young Iniesta in his place. He is quick on the ball, and combines great vision (especially in the final third of the pitch) with very sharp technique.
Here is a pic:

BTW I encourage anyone and everyone to add to this thread. For example Kostas, you are probably a bigger Iniesta connoisseur than I am. Please, if anyone has a player to share, do it.

Xisco - Francisco Jiménez Tejada (19) Deportivo: central forward with good size (1.86m). good speed and he is fine in the air. came out of their own youth system
Melli (21) Betis: Rock solid defender. He has played over 30 games for betis last season and is a fixture in their lineup. Does everthing quite fine. He can be a very good defender if his development continues. A versatile defender who can play in almost any position, Melli has excelled with Real Betis Balompié since being deployed at right-back but is also comfortable in central defence or midfield. Entered the national team at Under-16 level and reaped success almost instantly as he was part of the side that beat France to win the UEFA European Under-17 Championship in England in May 2001. He repeated the feat at U19 level as Spain emerged winners against Germany in the 2002 European Championship tournament in Oslo. He then stepped up to the U21s, winning a regular role in the side. Joined Betis as a 14-year-old and played at every level until making the reserve team in 2001. He spent the latter part of the 2001/02 season loaned out at Segunda División side Club Polideportivo Ejido but only appeared twice. On his return, he was chosen for the first team, making his debut appearance as Betis strolled to a 3-0 win against Málaga CF on 3 November 2002. His versatility means he has since proved useful when coach Llorenç Serra Ferrer rotates his squad.
Arzo (19) Villarreal: Midfielder/Defender with good size. Highly-rated central midfield player César Arzo can easily revert to central defence when necessary. He has shown courage, maturity and composure since his graduation to the Villarreal CF first team in 2002/03. A youth international with Spain, Arzo was part of the squad that were runners-up in the UEFA European Under-17 Championship in Portugal in 2003, then again at the FIFA World Youth Championships in Finland in September of the same year.
Sergio Garcia (22) Saragossa: Came out of Barcas youth sytem and was once considered as one of the biggest talents out of spain. He is a central forward but not overly big for this positon. started just one game this season. saragossa spend 1.5 mil for the striker.
Xisco Nadal (19) Villarreal - on loan at Murcia: Left footed Winger. A Spanish youth international, Xisco represented his country at the 2003 UEFA European Under-17 Championship, where they reached the final before losing to Iberian neighbours Portugal. Then stepped up to U19 level.
Schooled in the youth teams at Villarreal CF, Xisco was given his first-team debut aged just 17 as Víctor Muñoz's side earned a 1-0 win at CA Osasuna on 2 February 2003. He opened his account with a late goal in the penultimate game of the same season against RCD Espanyol and then spent 2003/04 on loan at CD Numancia, but he was only given a handful of run-outs.

Nice work Markus
Jona- (20 yrs. Espanyol)- The pearl of Espanyol's youth system started out as a pure attacking midfielder (position in which he debuted in Primera at 17) but has now found a finishing touch and has been moved to striker. He is getting some playing time this year alongside his friend from the U20 NT, Juanfran. Very good technique on the ball (especially when it comes to protecting it) and a new found finishing touch. He scored a great goal in the U-20 WC which I will try and post.
Xabi Prieto- (22 yrs. La Real Sociedad)- Yet another product of the footballing rich Pais Vasco (it is amazing how many players this tiny region produces, easily the best footballing region alongside Andalucia). He is a very elegant midfielder that can play in the center or on the right. He has exploded this season and is easily La Real's best player. He is an excellent passer of the ball and can surprise people with his dribbling. Also, he now enjoys the reputation of being the best penalty taker in La Liga, as he has yet to miss one. In last week's game against Real Madrid, he tormented Roberto Carlos all day.

Also, in other young prospect news,
Diego Capel(see above) has been included in the first team squad for the first time under Juande Ramos in tomorrow's Uefa Cup game against Vitoria Guimaraes. Last year he debuted in Primera with Caparros but Juande has been a bit more reluctant to include him in his plans. Hopefully, he continues his progress as he is probably the most naturally gifted youngster in Spain.

Playerwatch 2006: Spain

Spain has a rich tradition of producing youth talent, and the first half of the 2005/06 Primera División season was no exception.
Soldado chance
As Real Madrid CF strikers Michael Owen and Javier Portillo exited the star-sewn team this summer, reserve Roberto Soldado saw his long-held hopes of a breakthrough crystallise this season as he scored the winning goal on his UEFA Champions League debut on 28 September against Olympiacos CFP. He has also made promising Primera División appearances and scored regularly for the reserves. With Captain Rául González out injured for four months, the 20-year-old, part of the Spain team that won the 2004 UEFA European Under-19 Championship, could have more chances.
Carril impresses
RC Deportivo La Coruña also boast an emerging forward. Joaquín Caparrós was appointed coach in June and turned his attention to the youth team, spotting a promising 20-year-old, Iván Carril, After impressing in training he was used during Deportivo's UEFA Intertoto Cup campaign, scoring in the final against Olympique de Marseille. He has since shown further ability in his Primera División appearances.
Betis backbone
Goalkeeper Antonio Doblas broke into the Real Betis Balompié lineup at the end of last year when Pedro Contreras was injured and Antonio Prats dropped. He helped them into the UEFA Champions League and has remained a regular this term. Midfielder Alberto Rivera joined the Andalusia club from Madrid this year and has been so outstanding that Luis Aragonés called him up for Spain's FIFA World Cup play-offs against Slovakia.
Flaño twins
Twins Javier and Miguel Flaño, 20, have long been tipped to make it to the top at CA Osasuna. Central defender Miguel joined the first team last April and featured in seven league matches before the end of the season. He earned the respect of Javier Aguirre who then selected Miguel's brother Javier at right-back. The latter beat his sibling to a UEFA Cup debut against Stade Rennais FC, though it is Miguel who is the regular selection.
Espanyol trio
RCD Espanyol promoted three reserve players this season who have been coming along well. Goalkeeper Gorka Iraizoz has been used in place of Carlos Kameni for Espanyol's UEFA Cup games, and their European results have been impressive. Midfielder Moisés Hurtado and forward Jonathan Soriano both actually made their top-flight debuts in 2002, but then dropped out of the reckoning until Miguel Ángel Lotina took charge this term. Moisés has a very defensive approach to the game but that did not stop him from scoring his first competitive goal to earn a 1-1 draw against US Città di Palermo in the UEFA Cup. As for Soriano, he has proved an excellent substitute for club favourite Raúl Tamudo and is definitely someone to watch out for.
Athletic saviour
Athletic Club de Bilbao face their toughest season in 107 years of top division history, but Fernando Llorente could be poised to save the team from relegation. The 20-year-old striker was promoted to the Basque side's squad last January, has proved to be a reliable option in the absence of Ismael Urzaiz during his injury.
Getafe golden boy
Madrid's 'third' club, Getafe CF, are enjoying their second season in the Primera División, and striker Daniel González Güiza, signed in the summer after some prolific form for CF Ciudad de Murcia, has proved one of the revelations of the year. Having drifted away from RCD Mallorca a few years ago, he was the second division's second top scorer last term at Cuidad, Getafe broke their transfer record to sign him for €800,000, and the 25-year-old proved his worth with two goals in the 5-2 victory against Real Zaragoza.
From Uefa.com
Those Flaño twins sounds interesting, could anyone tell me more?

You left some of them.
Cani:24 years. Not a youngster after all, but now he's now at his best. Capping to the National Team probably. Pure class and flair, great passing and playmaking, he's one of the top assintant in the Primera División.
Zapater: 19 years. Named by Maradona as "a bull", is the "partenaire" of Cesc int the U-21 National team, this is his second season in the Zaragoza team. He played all the season and was one of the sensations of the First Division. He play as deffensive midfielder.
Hector Font: 21. Great right winger or attacking midfielder, playing in Villareal. He's now playing quite little, but he's an important player for the U-21 National.

Roque was spotted by Liverpool's Chief Scout Paco Herrera and is highly rated as a bright prospect for the future.
He is 17-years of age and can play centre half or central midfield. Roque will be a regular member of the Liverpool Reserve team squad for the 2005/06 season.
---------------------------------------
He has played alot of reserve games this season where he has been used right across the back four and in midfield. He is also being used in the FA Youth Cup which is a very prestigous youth tournament where Liverpool have made the semi finals. There are alot of young centrebacks at Anfield and he will find it tough to make the first team in the next few years but he is developing continually and the coaching staff have high hopes for him

Saez still doubts over whether to play Soldado or Llorente at striker. He has decided to play Silva at the AMC, because he couldnt pick the better of him and Gavilan as both are in great form. I would've probably played Silva on the left, and played Raul Garcia at the AMC. This is Raul Garcia's first call up to the U21 and will likely enter in the second half.

What's up with Spain creating all these good left wingers? Off the top of my head I caan think of Vicente, Reyes, Silva, Gavilan, A. Martin, L. Garcia and Diego Capel. Oh well Anderson of Porto will be better than all of them, excpet maybe Capel, he is the man.
yea where's madrid at in buying this Capel character...couple years and hell be here...no doubts...cant stay at sevilla forever...

When we sign Vicente it'll be 2 - 2

Plus like kssj4 said, we'll sign Capel, and he's soo good he'll tip the balance 4 - 2 in our favour

well Jurado can play on the left so he can be considered a left winger...Id rather have Reyes than vicente
so logically that still makes us up 8-3 because Capel, Jurado, Reyes and Robinho are just that damn good...
man I love my math skills!!

Robishow's Brasilian you fucker, I should ban you right now for such a schoolboy error
And Jurado's more of an attacking midflieder than a left winger, but oh well he still counts

No chance of you getting Vicente, I don't think he would want to leave the second best team in Spain for the 3rd best team in Spain

True, but why are you bringing Barca into the equation, afterall they are the 3rd best team in Spain after Valenci (2nd) and Madrid (1st)
