Yeh, it was on quite alot tho for the euro 2005, so they are improving it!
Renee
Yes! Unfourtunatly in Canada I never get to see alot. I did see some Euro2005 games, but only because I have digital cable. Most of my friends don't so they can't see any games.
summer9
yeah I think it should but during the summer I can get a couple of USWNT but thats it wink.gif
danny251
Dont care probably wouldn't watch it much
Catwoman
I know a lot of ppl who would support it if it was available. I wont lie, I dont think I'd be an avid follower, although I do like watching bigger tournaments..so of course i'm in favour.
unski|z
Not in the states. We need more men's still, especially on networks like ESPN.
summer9
yeah I think ESPN should broadcast more MLS games just not on Saturdays, but last year on ESPN I did catch the CL final the night after blink.gif but ESPN should broadcast more womens soccer than they do now
Peace
it should defo be on a lot more!
Hellish
I'd watch it if it was on. Meaning it should get more coverage.

Five players from the current England squad will be appearing on BBC1's Sports Personality of the Year tomorrow night. They will be talking about the squads performance in the European Championships in June.

Sunday, Dec. 11th @ 8.00 pm, on BBC1 smile.gif

Don't miss it.

Personally I would watch it because im the type of person who would any type of football..
And also these youngsters, mainly the girls, need role models. The need someone to look up to, like a mia hamm.
To sum it all up women football needs exposure.

Of what i have seen so far; Womens football has a long way to go b4 i consider getting interesting to watch
Technical scill level in general is much poorer; fitness levels is poorer compared to other female sports athletes.tactical awareness etc. It just dows not excite
It is like watching amateur Sunday league football.
Take for instance the last European cup. I was laughing at the commentary wsp ones Made by Gavin Peacock. He was so desperately trying to highlight good spots in the EEngland game and other gameswhen it was plain to see that that tornament was dire as a spectacle.

The only way that womens football will be comparable to men skill-wise is if they undergo the same training as men do ie from younger and for longer.

On a side note --- football is not considered as a sport that many women would consider compared to Hockey,Badminton, Volleyball, tennis, (Netball)
The skill levels for Hockey,Badminton, Volleyball, tennis compares favourably with the mens game.
Can you say that about Womens football and Rugby.

I am all for encouraging more women getting involved in football --But please be honest

I completely agree with that, unfourtunatly. However, it could very well be due to the culture in your area or what's "acceptable" in social standards. Also the level of play availible in your area too. In my area, a lot of people are out on the pitch playing (of both sexes) and of all ages. I would agree though that if I HAD to say what there was more of, there would be more guys playing. I'm not sure what would make more people go out at all though. My area has some pretty competitive play so the girls here actually do love the sport enough to go out and workout on their own outside of the selected training times.

I would watch it even though the quality is poor.

Until the women take it a bit more seriously i dont think it should get more coverage, every domestic womens game ive ever seen half of the players look to be over weight for a sportswoman! i agree the major tournaments are getting good tho so maybe expose the international stage a bit more.

offtopic2.gif I wouldnt mind watching the arsenal womens keeper week in week out tho!!

I think that is a good point, but as you've said, the standard in the bigger tournaments is growing and this will only be mirrored in the domestic game. Women's football is in a similar position to that of the mens game maybe 100 years ago

offtopic2.gif I recommend you check out the hotties thread in the pinned section then! biggrin.gif

This thread suggests that the majority of us feel that more women's football should be shown live to bolster it's popularity. Sky and similar digital TV companies are beginning to show games live but the current auduience numbers are low. Women's coverage will remain low until these figures are boosted. As a result I propose we put together a schedule of games that will be shown on TV so that we all know when and where to tune for the coverage. This should get more people interested in the games and give us more talking points throughout the season ahead. I will obviously focus on the British leagues and maybe Renee or mew could help with the US/Canada?
