hmm, actually in the bundesliga there are the most goals (in average about 3 per game) and the viewers average is the highest of all european leagues. so i would say it is one of the more entertaining leagues

I agree with Collom. Now I won't say it's the best league but it is a very entertaining league. And like he said, there is a lot of goals in each game.
Now for the hardest league, I have to say Seria A, with La liga in 2nd.

The Dutch is on the place 6 in my opinion.

I watch the Premiership more than any other league although I think its equal in overall quality in comparison to La Liga and the Calcio. It's all a matter of opinion and it all comes down to a preference in style. I happen to love all the different styles equally.

Sep 16 2006, 08:16 AM
In terms of quality, EPL, La Liga and Serie A are up there on their own above the rest, after that it's personal choice. For me, it's the premiership because of its excitement, pace and atmosphere. Serie A has lost a bit of credibility after the recent scandal tho.
after those 3, the Bundesliga and Ligue 1 are tied, with the Portuguese league after that and then the Dutch league which lacks quality beyond the top 3 teams.

The Premiership is the best. The league (exclude Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool) is so even compared to others around Europe. In particular the club's squads are better when you look at the quality of the players. And of course everyone knows that it's better to watch becasue of the pace of the game and the tough tackling compared to La Liga and Serie A where it is much slower. One more thing I'd like to point out is that in the Premier League there is a much better atmosphere. In La Liga and Serie A especially there are stadiums that hold 70,000 plus but you don't get the electrifying atmosphere that you do in the Premier League. This is because the stadiums are that big that the fans are so far away from the pitch, whereas in England the fans are almost on top of the players which makes it very intimidating for them and you get the better atmosphere.
It's the most watched league in the world.

I don't blame them of course. The Spanish seems to be more technically-based then the EPL, but the slow tempo and sometimes the ridiculous defending makes me choose EPL.

This is a tough questions because the top leagues are different. The Prem is very quick, physical and supposedly the most entertaining. Seria A much slower and it very technical and La Liga is quite physical and probably more skillful than the other two.
What annoys me is that people say Seria A is defensive, I think thats bullshit because Seria A scored more goals than both the prem and La Liga

who cares about the atmosphere we are talking about soccer here, which means how well they play. and in my opinion serie a's quality of football is still better than la liga's or epl's. in serie a, the small clubs (messina, udinese) play with a style of sophistication that's lacking in the lower table teams in la liga and epl. the top teams in the three leagues are basically equally matched though.

I love watching Barca games.. I feel unbelievable passion from it, which no other football team could offer me, I live with this team, but..
If I have to choose to watch a game between middle class teams from La Liga and EPL, for example:
Zaragoza - Celta, or West Ham - Aston Villa (for example), I would choose the second for now.. EPL's style has become very fast, very attractive and sometimes - breath taking.
And on otherway, I'm finding the tempo in many games from La Liga just too slow on some moments, too boring... EPL has better tempo and better attraction to football fans. (but I hope La Liga could be improved soon)

Nothing personal but I've noticed many of the Madrid/Barca fans on SP are kind of like that; they have interest in Madrid or Barca and couldn't care less what happened in other La Liga games.
I understand where your coming from but if I had to choose between Celta vs Zaragoza or West Ham vs Villa I'd take Celta vs Zaragoza everytime. Having the chance to see Aimar, D'Allesandro, Zapater, Ewerthon, Baiano, Gustavo Lopez, Oubiņa, Milito, Cannobio all on the pitch at the same time would do it for me. Just the mould of player you would be seeing for me are a cut above. Don't get me wrong because West Ham have some pretty decent players but the general technical ability is much stronger in the La Liga game. Yes, those English teams may be a bit harder and physically adept but some of the big boys in these teams like Zapater, Milito etc wouldn't look out of place in the Premeirship at all. I don't mind the slower tempo of a game. Sometimes I find the Premiership's tempo is a bit too fast. Some people like it but for me good football is about the quality of football being played not how quickly the ball is transfered from one half to another/between players.

You're not very correct to me here.
I've never said something like I don't care, or something... This year I've watched some EPL games, and some La Liga games. (when I have time to do that)
I'm not talking blindly, I'm just comparing it from what I saw. I was a huge La Liga fan before years, but now I just prefer to watch the fast tempo of EPL, with no dissrecpest to spanish clubs, and players like Aimar or D'Allesandro (who actually came from England, remember?)
Derby games like Barca - Real, Barca - Valencia or Real - Valencia are really exciting, because in these teams are playing amazing players, but how I said - I'm talking for absolutely usual games, not derbies, between middle class teams.. Now I just prefer the amazing tempo of EPL, and how the players there're struggling for every goal, for every point. No dissrespect.

You don't understand; I didn't mean you ingeneeral at all. I was just speaking in general. Thats why I stated it wasn't aimed at you. I wasn't having a go at you or anything, sorry if you misinterperetted me. I maybe didn't make myself clear enough.
D'Allesandro had a short stint in England yes, but that doesn't mean he came out of England. He played at Wolfsberg in Germany and River in Argentina before joining Zaragoza. Only a half a season at Pompey.
I'm not saying there is anything wrong with liking the Premiership more nor trying to change your opinion. Nothing was aimed at you specifically just to get that cleared up.
