Sweaty Balls
I'm currently in one so i thought i would start the topic.

About 2 weeks ago i went down in practice on my back with my leg bent behind me.
Turns out, i tore my meniscus in the process. Gonna need surgery, and looks like i could be out anywhere from 2-4 monthes.
Any of you ever had any serious injuries?
Renee
The worst injury I had took me out for about 1 to 2months. It was a 50-50 ball, keeper and me. I was sprinting for it and just flicked the ball before the keeper got to it but she just collided with my knee. I have no idea what exactly happened to it as I never had an MRI, though I feel I should've. The doctors gave me an Xray, which doesn't show tissue damage, and told me I had bruising. But basically for that 1-2 month period, everytime I walked it felt like my leg was bending backwards instead of how it would normally bend forwards - no support at all. And shooting just made it get sharp pains.
I met someone who's had a ton of knee injuries though and she told me it sounded like I could've partially torn something in there as she had something similar before. It's getting better though. It still bothers me from time to time though (and that was about 3 years ago).

About your meniscus tear, I know someone who just went through surgery for that. I think she was out after the surgery for 4 months and is currently still doing rehab. Goodluck, hope your recovery goes quick!

I broke my elbow crying_new.gif happend bout 2 years ago but is still stif, whenever i play, all my broken bones start to hurt again; my collar bone, both my wrists (broke one twice), nd my other elbow (din't break it but doc said it might as well have been (or worse blink.gif).
Now my foot has been hurting for about a month after a game when i hurt it (when i stand up from a chair or get out of bed dono what it is tho) and today i got horrific crap (had to come off, happened at exaly the same time as my mate, weird). However I am lucky enough not to have sustained any tissue damage in my time.

Had a few.

Dislocated, fractured and tore all the ligaments in me ankle when i stupidly jumped off a bus stop. Was out for 7 months. I was trialling at Sunderland at this time.

When i was 14 i had to have a double knee operation. Had me growth plates stapled (3 in each knee). This was supposed to keep me out for a year but i was back within 6 months.

wow.gif wow! Not the luckiest guy are you? I've only torn ligaments in my ankle. It was the size of an orange sad.gif Really painful. Was only out for about a month though, which was quite lucky - it was only 5mm away from a break apparently (I went over on my ankle playing football)

Ouch! some of these injuries sound painful. im with nipper, ive torn ligaments in both ankles, bloody painful alright, i was out somewhere between 4-6 weeks, and it happened to me at the start of the season so that didnt help either.

Goodluck with your recovery, but a few tips in the process.

No.1 dont be so eager to get back on the pitch, make sure your reovered 150%

2. Try not to feel so low while in rehab, just remember that theres people out there who want to play football( or even walk for that matter) but cant cause its physically not possible

DAMN, some of you guys (and girl) are unlucky. Injuries like yours almost send chills up my spine. The thought of going through so much pain (and time off the pitch) would is just horrible.

The worst I've had is a broken arm (both bones) which I got playing football. That was a BITCH. When I reminisce on it I get bad images in my head. At the time though I was quite relaxed about it.

I've also had tendonitis in my foot which also hurts like a bitch. Luckily that was when I was young though so I had no important matches to miss out on. Still was annoying as shit.

Apart from that I've been quite lucky. A lot of strains here and there and some bad knocks and bruises... They're not really serious though are they (very frustrating though).

Fogot to mention - I've broken my nose about 9 times (not exaggerating btw). Never been to hospital because of it though, but it's now completely fucked and hinders my breathing slightly, so I might need to see about getting it fixed.

Nope crying_new.gif

Av heard that your far better breaking your ankle is better then tearing your ligaments. Not sure if that's right though.

I remember when a was about 7 and i climbed over a fence to retrieve a ball, and i fell and to break my fall i put my left hand out. Bad mistake. My arm twisted so when i got up my elbow was the other way round. (You'll get a better idea if you look at your arm and where the bend is between your forearm and bicep - that is where me elbow was!) Turned out i had broke it in 3 places and the surgeon had to re-break me arm and reset me elbow back in place. Now that hurt like hell!!

Yeah a know what your feeling with the nose situation Nipper. Mine's been broke 5 times - 4 times due to fighting poster_oops.gif ranting.gif You should have seen the state of the other guys smile.gif First time a broke it was when a was playing 5 a side. A ball was played to my side and as i was turning to get the ball a ran straight into me mates shoulder! A was knocked out for a few minutes and when a came too there was blood all over the place and me nose was bent!!

i have snapped my shin, that hurt like a bitch and i was out for 2 months i have also smashed my wrist twice which was really painful but not as much of an inconvenience as a leg cast.
