This is a horrible tackle from Rosenborg v Olympiakos!
Stoltidis wasn't even near the ball and he broke the leg of norwegian talent Skjelbred.
18 year old Skjelbred is now out for 6 month
I was there and Stoltidis started on a 10 metres run just to take out Skjelbred.
I heard the noice when the foot broke and Skjelbred skreamed.
Look at this

THE BALL WAS BEHIND HIM!
And Skjelbred was outside the pitch!
He only got yellow card for this
Punish Stoltidis!
Anyone agree?

bad news for Rosenborg but i don't think they will punish the guy.
if they punish him then they would have to punish everyone who injured an opponent player and i don't think this would work.

I agree with you energy, but this player totally goes out of line and this isn't just any tackle... this is murder!

so true, but the real sad thing is that this young lad has such a big setback early in his career

.
hopefully he will recover well

In clear malicious tackles like this the offender should just be banned for the length of time the player is out injured.
That really is shocking.

I totally agree GoonerMarc, but unfortenetly he gets away with it

That diserves at least a 12 month ban from football. I am really disgusted by this tackle. I am sorry for Rosenborg, sorry indeed. Unbelievable.

It looks a nasty challenge.
Unfortunately these things always happen in football. That looks clear cut to me, so I don't know why the ref didn't send him off.
It's sick when a guy gets a yellow for a tackle like that and you get a yellow for something like taking your shirt off.
The Norwegian kid was getting abit of a reputation for being a good player in the making, hope he makes a full and speedy recovery and can move Rosenborg up the league

Punish Stoltidis, its a tragecy that he only got a yellow card, he should got a red card and not be able to play football for along time. It obviesely was planed to set skjeldbred out of the game.
It is sad for skjeldbred, Rosenborg and football...
Dont worry Per you will come back with Rosenborg stronger than ever.

I found that the most disgusting of all, he did not even check on the player, ran away like a coward.

I ve seen all these comments and i lost my patience.
That was very bad incident for Rosenborg and Norway cause Skjelbred is a great talent, but thats football guys. It was a bad moment, is not the first and for sure not the last injury on Soccer!
I know stoltidis and is a good boy, he didnt have personal problems with Skjelbred to do that! Stoltidis have never done sth like that again to say that he is a killer!
The pitch was frozen and Ieroklis slipped with more power to tackle.
I can understand the Rosenborg fans but it was a bad moment, not the Stoltidis hate for Skjelbred.

The ball was behind stoltidis and skjeldbred was out of the pitch, when he tacklede him...
Am sure stoltidis is a good man , but he should Atleast apoligize.

I think Stoltidis have asked for Skjelbreds phonenumber, so atleast he will call him and apoligize!
That showes a little sportmanship, but it doesn't take back what he did

Olympiakos and Stoltidis personally apologised to Skjelbreds and also sent him a bunch of flowers.
Thats soccer... with the good and the bad moments.

Ball wasn't really behind him if you saw the video. When stoltidis is tackling, Skjelbred kicks the ball under him. So instead of getting the ball, he got the leg behind it. And he is on the pitch.
Unlucky injury.

but when he tackles him, skjeldbred does not have the ball, yes the pitch was a little bit bad but from the video it seems like his looking at skjeldbreds leg and not the ball...anyway the injury has happend and its bad, but i think his coming back stronger than ever.
Its good of stoltidis if he give him a call and also that olympiakos sent him flowers in hospitale
