There's Only One United
Collingwood were woeful last night and it seemed as though they were mainly there for the promotional side of it as they did a lot of that while they were over their while Adelaide seemed focused on the game and looked way ahead of them at this stage of the season.
Stronzo
Apparently Kerr will be right for Round 1 according to Woosha. Hopefully biggrin.gif
aussie_for_life
sellar was pretty impressive last night
There's Only One United
I think they're hoping that he can step up this year as he was tipped to feature last season but didn't and they now desperately need a big forward who can kick a few goals. His kicking for goal looked a bit worrying though at times which is usually the case with Crows forwards in the past such as Perrie and Gill etc..
Ivan H
Bombers play on saturday. I'm pumped!
Bob Loblaw
Two players seasons are over already. Malceski with a torn ACL and Hasleby with a screwed knee.
aussie_for_life
really feel for em, all that hard slog during the offseason for nothin
GunnerVictory
Im a tigers man, so i better shut up
There's Only One United
St Kilda will play Adelaide in the NAB Cup final next week.

Apparently Burton took a pretty good mark as shown in the pic below.

Bob Loblaw
^^It was over Zac Dawson so that should take away some credibility.
vyacheslav
Hawthorn youngster Beau Muston out for the season with a knee reconstruction, his 3rd without ever playing a senior AFL game (had injuries in TAC cup)

So many knee injuries in the pre-season
There's Only One United
Hawthorn had 19 players on the field last week apparently for 3 or 4 minutes which doesn't happen to often. Roos is also under investigation for match fixing or something as there are allegations that he told a player to go forward but not kick any goals or words to that effect but he is stating that he has nothing to prove.
Bob Loblaw
Riewoldt named as captain and Danny Jacobs has retired due to ongoing injury problems. Not too disappointed with this as now Hawthorn can elevate Hugh Sandilands who could be on the senior list next year.
aussie_for_life
id of thought cameron stokes would be elevated for hawthorn, he was very impressvie nab cup

yay on 8 days till AFL starts for another year!

Stokes will replace Muston, who is gone for the season, and Sandilands will replace Jacobs.
aussie_for_life
true, i forgot about muston
George Foreman.
Shame Jacobs retired. Ive always liked him.
There's Only One United
Anyone doing footy tipping this season? Paid $20 to join a comp that we're having at work with first prize beig $500 or something. Top tipper of the week gets $20 so all you have to do is have a great week and you'll get your money back which is my minimum aim at this stage.
Scousy
Up the Tiges.

Geez King looked good tonight, and Foley picked up where he left off. Feeling a bit more confident now, even though it was only Carlton
There's Only One United
Tipped Carlton by 18 sad.gif

At least Geelong are up so I'll get one back there. Saw Cameron Ling walking around the city today, pretty easy to recognise him.
Bob Loblaw
Thank God the Blue Baggers lost. They seriously don't deserve any success in anything they do. They are just a disgrace. Oh, and well done Tiges.
Bob Loblaw
I was bored and started to think about who is going to be in the teams for Victoria vs Dream Team.

VICTORIA

B: C.Brown M.Scarlett D.Milburn
HB: H.Shaw M.Egan L.Hodge
C: A.Goodes J.Bartel N.Dal Santo
HF: P.Chapman J.Brown S.Lucas
F: B.Johnson B.Fevola S.Johnson
Fol: B.Ottens C.Judd G.Ablett jr
I/C: J.White S.Mitchell D.Fletcher C.Mooney

DREAM TEAM

B: B.Rutten D.Glass P.Burgoyne
HB: A.Mcleod T.Croad C.Cornes
C: S.Burgoyne D.Kerr J.Corey
HF: A.Davey M.Pavlich B.Burton
F: B.Ebert N.Riewoldt L.Franklin
Fol: D.Cox S.Black K.Cornes
I/C: J.Koschitzke S.Crawford Q.Lynch S.Dew(yes I'm giving the big man a go because I can't think of anyone else g.gif )
Bob Loblaw
First round finished and I can't help but only talk about my Hawkers(you can talk about other clubs but it won't be as good laugh.gif ).

Buddy Franklin, 6 goals, humiliated Carroll and everyone else who went on him. My Boy "Junior" Rioli worked superbly with Stokes. Stewie Dew is the beast and shall never be stopped. He crashed through 2 Melbourne players and then kicked a goal, later Neitz tried to bump him but was merely reflected like a pebble on an elephant. Great win and I hope we can continue to demolish.

Also Trent Croad broke his arm.
aussie_for_life
pretty happy with 6/8 this week, wrongly tipped the crows and blues
There's Only One United
Good win by Essendon today after coming from behind early. Number of players got 5 or 6 goals in matches this week which is always good to see.

I can only guess you go for Collingwood...

Anyway, Melbourne are the frontrunners to win the prestigious "We suck" award, notable previous winners are Fremantle, Carlton, and last years unforgettable tie between Carlton and Richmond.
There's Only One United
I was thinking before of who will finish in the top 4 and at this stage apart from Geelong I can't think of any other team who I could confidently say will do it. There are a lot of teams who I think could finish in the 5-8 region but in terms of top 4 it's a lot harder and I'm not sure if other think the same.
aussie_for_life
yeh i think my eagles will have an up n down year this season. i see us in the 5-8 region but i dont think we have to quality just yet to be a top 4 side.

i feel sorry for melbourne and guess who they get next week..............

meanwhile im having a rippin start to tipping think year 6/8 last week and lookin at 7/8 in the kangas get up

Richmond Actually...... crying_new.gif

I was just pissed I got my tip wrong because of a bad call.

I'm not quite sure which call you're talking about but there were plenty of frees that should have been given to Brisbane in their 50 during the game. I saw about 5 free kicks in a period of 15 seconds in the 3rd quarter. 1 to Collingwood, the rest to Brisbane, but none were payed. It didn't really matter though as Brisbane ended up kicking a goal any way.
Bob Loblaw
The odds for the Geelong vs Melbourne game are ridiculous! Gellong are now $1.02 and Melbourne are $12. What I would do just to see Melbourne win...
Scousy
Someone put $100,000 on Geelong to win $4000

Probably the easiest $4000 he's ever made, that's how shit Melbourne are. I'm loving it biggrin.gif
Bob Loblaw
On channel 10, when they have some guy reading out the prices for the teams every Thursday, he stands next to a board which has the prices printed on pieces of paper. Geelong's price was so low, they didn't have a piece of paper with the price on it, it was just blank.
Scousy
Yeah, I watched that too laugh.gif. Classic.

I'm pretty sure he said they weren't even taking bets for Geelong anymore as well.
There's Only One United
Missed that one but doesn't surprise me. Was the easiest result to pick when doing my tips in a long time in a round that contains a lot of other tough games so it's good to know that every is guaranteed to get one right at least.
Bob Loblaw
Buddy is just obscene. He hasn't had a good game yet this season, but he still has kicked bags of 6, 4 and 5. Dear titty-f*cking Christ.
Scousy
Is there a new rule that says that Richo can't be payed a free kick?

For fucks sake...

Well thats just not true, he had a great game in round one against the demons.

The Demons were MUCH improved today, which is a relief, I was actually scared before going to watch the game. Mclean had an excellent match until Ling shut him down, thats just something he has to learn. Paul Johnson had the best game I've ever seen him play today, Cale Morton and Clint Bartram also showed signs of improvement. Austin Woenamirri looked excellent when he got the ball but Aaron Davey had just another shit game. His work ethic is shit and he's not applying the same pressure that he used to. Jared Rivers showed good signs but he's a few games off being back to form. Matthew Whelan had a good game for Sandringham so hopefully we'll seem him next round.

Melbourne are showing improvement but are still not looking great although it must be said, they have played three of the best teams in the league.
Bob Loblaw
He was playing on Nathan Carroll. NATHAN CARROLL!!!
Cruel Guard
Nathan Carrol isn't bad. He's just a bogan.
Bob Loblaw
Can't he be both? Jade Rawlings anyone?
Cruel Guard
Nathan Carrol is actually a decent player, he's just not big enough. Thats why Hawkins beat him so hard.
There's Only One United
The crows had a few less players after getting a lot of injuries during the game and still managed to beat Port last night. Port actually rushed 4 or 5 behinds when they were under no pressure so they could've won if they didn't do that or had of actually gone forward in the last minute of each quarter instead of wasting time and kicking backwards.
Cruel Guard
Port are a poor side i reckon, I mean that means a lot coming from a Demon. They wont make the eight this year, Port.

I'm glad about the number of injuries you guys have. Hawthorn have a much higher chance of beating you because you're one of our bogey teams, you bastards. Also it's a Aurora so we pretty much have the win in the bag.

I don't go for Adelaide or any AFL team actually. I only care when money is involved such as with my footy tips and I went for Hawthorn so I hope you guys get up on the weekend. Crows could be motivated by the final loss last year to Hawthorn but after how physical last weeks game was I doubt they'll have enough to do it.
