Did alright in the first half and were leading at half time, but the cats were just too good. Promising signs though, we might make the finals next year.
Fuck I'm sick of commentators giving Tambling shit though, they all say the same shit about being picked before Franklin. That's Richmond's moronic drafting staff's fault, not Tamblings you deadshits. I can't wait til the footy goes back to channel 9 so we can get rid of complete spanners like Robert Walls.
Also, only having one Tasmanian in the Dream Team last week was disgusting. A former footballing force only having one player in the 150 year celebrations. The AFL can suck my dick, and West Sydney can fuck off. Tasmania deserves a team and if and when we finally do get one, if they put in Launceston then the AFL is more idiodic that ever.

McGlynn gone for 3 weeks, S. Burgoyne 3weeks, Crawford 1 week(which was deliberate as now he can play his 300th in Melbourne instead of Adelaide). N. Brown(Collingwood) no case, B.Harvey no case.

Good win for the Bulldogs today. Poor old West Coast got smashed again by Collingwood while Brown and Franklin continue to keep kicking loads of goals.

Russell Robertson is gone for the whole season and a fair chunk of next. Tore his achilles tendon and was in serious pain. Couldn't have been at a worst time for Melbourne either.

Just another lazy 9 for Franklin while Sydney kicked 10 of the final 13 goals to edge out West Coast in another close encounter between the two clubs.

Jun 7 2008, 08:22 AM
Seriously there is no-one like Buddy. He is, obviously, the key to Hawthorn but honestly, this kid is something special. He demolished everyone who was put on him and was about 3.5cm from a 10th goal. I would not be surprised if he really challenges for the Brownlow this year.

Terrible effort by Port as they choked once again. Carlton had hardly kicked a goal all day and then found something extra in the last quarter. Port have Geelong away next week I think they said so that could almost be season over for them.
Bob Loblaw
Jun 8 2008, 09:09 AM
In relation to Port, it is impossible for a team to rebuild that quickly. After their premiership they were terrible, and it seems that last years form was only a smokescreen as to the actual lack of quality on their list.

The Grand Final defeat is probably still psychologically affecting them as when they seem to be pressured by other sides they crumble and allow their opponents to kick a lot of goals in a short space of time such as the Brisbane match earlier this season.

No Brownlow medal for Buddy. Hate the system where he didn't get suspended for a match but still can't win it as he got over 100 points before taking the discount.

can someone please tell me how/why the hell Jonathan Brown is regarded the best player in the afl.
Gary Ablett is probably the key reason why iv become more interested in afl, hes much better to watch then Brown.
Scousy
Jun 24 2008, 09:06 AM
He's not. Only morons like Wayne Carey think Brown is the best player in the AFL. Franklin, Bradshaw, Fevola (best forward in the AFL), Richardson (although not strictly playing up forward), Roughead (debatable) and Pavlich have been better key position forwards than Brown this season in my opinion.
Gary Ablett Jr. is far and away the best player in the AFL. The boy is a freak, you can't tackle him.

Quite simply the worst game I have ever seen. Honestly, Hawthorn should have won by well over 100 points but could not kick a ball into the ocean, it was disgraceful. I'm still not quite sure why Clinton Young, Xavier Ellis and Tim Clarke haven't been dropped yet, even for a week, because they are simply terrible. Hawthorn have a potential future captain in Brendan Whitecross, yet, they don't play him. Clarkson really needs to have a good long think about the clubs pllaying situation over the break, as the rolling defence doesn't work, the tactics are crap, there are too many crap players playing and the forwards struggle to kick straight. I never want to see that utter rubbish again.
There's Only One United
Jun 27 2008, 08:58 AM
Tipped the hawks by 45 points so not a bad outcome. Normally don't choose a margin that high but West Cost have been so woeful I had to this week and as you say they should have won by more.

Bit of a disgrace the way some of the Freemantle players acted against Geelong as they tried to rough up Ablett and others. Not sure who it was but whoever cleaned up Ling will be up for a nice holiday as a result.

Solomon will miss the remainder of the season after he was suspended for eight weeks. Was quite bad although didn't Barry Hall only get 8? Thought Hall's punch was a lot worse when comparing the two.

Well, no-one's commented here for a while so I thought I'd give it a bump.
A quick recap, Geelong beat Hawthorn, Bulldogs lost to Carlton, Buddy's a freak, the Cats are freaks. And to cap it off, Heath Shaw got pissed, crashed his car and you would expect the club to suspend him or something. No, they're just going to make him feel guilty by talking to the media about how disappointed they are in him. Oooh a bit severe don't you think?

Aug 5 2008, 03:27 AM
I LOVE how this has backfired on Collingwood. They are just as bad as West Coast in off-the-field incidents, but the AFL doesn't seem to care, so it's good to see them with egg of their face. There's no way they'll get rid of Shaw, he's too important to them, but Didak will definitely go, I just hope he doesn't come anywhere near Punt Road. He is probably in my top 5 hated players, I have no sympathy for the little prick

Both have been suspended for the rest of the season. Loved how pissed off Eddie got, can't believe how stupid you'd be to do that with finals coming up. They have to much time compared to average people for their own good.

It was great to see Crawf kick the last goal of the game yesterday, he has been a great player for the Hawks for so many years. Also can people no longer refer to anyone but Buddy as the best player in the league, or at least the best forward? Some of the shit he pulled off was unbelievable, especially considering he had 3/4 players on him most of the time.

That was embarassing by Melbourne on Friday night. 2 goals in the first 3 quarters and at that stage Geelong had 19. With the crap weather I'm surprised they got the crowd tjat they did.
