Aside from general fit, simplicity and softness of the upper, my number one priority for choosing boots is the traction they offer. I was wondering if you guys could give some input as to the best/worst brand for FG soleplates, and also for SG soleplates. It'd really help in my next purchase, thanks.

In my (limited)experience:

FG: Puma is horrible. Loved my Cellerators, hated the studs. Adidas blades are mediocre I guess, Vapors are pretty good. Haven't tried Nike's FG soleplates for the Legends/AZT 3's

SG: Umbro's 8-stud configuration is very good. better than Adidas X-TRX SG imo. haven't tried any others.

Adidas Predator Pulse FG - very good blades, dont wear dwn to easy, very gooood

CMON guys the best are from the predator Mania's SG and the FG version as well The two piece outsole was a a breakthrough in shoe technology. Hands down theyre the absolute best

I think the absolutes r the best i tryed them on at the store i just love them i am getting a pair

Yeah personally think its the Manias because they broke the mould and its turned out to be very successful!

i have both manias and pulses, and i like manias better.

yea manias have gotta be my favorite for everything, not just soleplate.

yeah the mania FG worked really well as an SG too because they are so long

id say either fg legend or fg abs. i have never had sg boots

I think the umbro kontakt plate is by far the greatest soleplate on the market right now. Great on all types of fields. Cellerators are pretty good.

nike total 90 3 fg (nt air zoom) great comfort on fg and u dont slip when the ground is soft, only had the one pair of boots for six months. They were only £29.99!!!

Adidas' FG and SG both rock

Nike AZT II FG soleplate is the best for firm ground.Pulse is great for really wet games.On a 'normal' pitch nothing beath FG Legends.
