Last Update: 01:13 - 16/08/2008 GMTNipper Says: I've rearranged the thread and linked to the boots and listed them in alphabetical order for ease of use and will try to keep it tidy by clearing out requests, "thank you" etc and adding new reviews which people have posted to the database on a regular basis.
We're looking for well though out reviews (using the headings Aesthetics, Value, Comfort, Performance, Durability and Overall) which can be added to this (just post them on the end and I'll update the first post to include it).
Even if there are reviews for your boot it would still be brilliant of you could write more - no two opinions are the same. If you don't know where to start, I've attached a sample review of what it should look like (I used Ejtek's as an example) and a template to help you get started.
Its not much to ask - it only takes a few minutes, and the more people do it, the more everyone gets out of it
You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours etc.Crofty Says: Sweet. I should have cleaned this up ages ago but it was repeatedly put in the two hard basket.
Adam Says: I'll be tidying up this topic, gives me something to work on rather than revision!

Adidas predator absolute trx FG.
OK, first thing i noticed when i played in these is they are very soft, and your ball touch is great with these. 2nd, theres that question about playing in the two different insoles. well i first played in the power ones, and i thought they were still fairly wightweight for a predator boot. but i could feel that big gold thing sticking out on the bottom of my foot. maybe they will break in, i donno.was alot happier with light ones bcause.. i couldnt feel that pulse thing stick into my foot, and the boot was extremely lighter with these. Yet, i could get a fairly more powerful, straighter shot with the powerpulse. Ok when i felt the heel counter, i didnt know how much support i would get because the heel counter is much more flexible than the manias or pulse. But this makes the boot more comfy, and i didnt have any support problems. The predator part of the boot helps because of the pattern, and the material used for it. Its a 2 layer predator, the bottom layer a thin rubber thats weaved acroos each strip from side to side. the top layer a grippy rubber. I absolutley ove these boots. I highly reccomen them. The only thing i would watch out for is the gold, smooth stuff, (or whatever color you get, im talking about the stuff that isnt leather.) Gets scuffed fairly easily, im still figuring out how to get thses off. OK IM DONE. LOVE THESE BOOTS

u got it
F50+- These boots depend alot on what kind of foot you have. That web stuff does not conform to your feet at all, actually my feet were too wide for these and the webbing on the outside snapped. Also the leather in the toe is very weak. Im a big fan of heel counters and dude to the lack of heel counter on these i got a few blisters. With those interchangeable insoles u really can tell a difference not so much in weight but in feel. The thing i liked best about these boots was the lace cover which provided a wonderful strike zone and due to the weight of the boot, the whole thing acted like its own powerpulse and i could hit some rockets with these. The worst part was they are such a bitch to clean! Cant wait for the tunits because i can basiicall prolly clean em with my hand and some water!
will post reviews of vapors and tottis later.

As requested with the headings. The F50+.
Aesthetics – 8/10The F50+ has 2 types of material surrounding the foot. The front portion of which the lace cover is situated, is made of ULT-K leather which is calf leather treated to perform like the more popular kangaroo leather. The rest of the boot is made with a high abrasion textile which is said to provide ultimate protection against water as seen in its earlier model the F50. The laces, as mentioned before, are covered with an innovative lace cover to give a cleaner, more precise kicking surface and shot on the ball.
Value – 8/10The boot market these days is filled with over the top priced boots from a range of brands. The F50+’s retail price is £99.99 and would seem a bit steep but when compared to the top of the line boots from Adidas such as the Predator Pulse (RRP £119.99) and the Predator Absolute (RRP £119.99), the boots seem to be well priced for this quality boot.
Comfort – 8/10The F50+ sticks to your foot like a second sock. Although seeming almost too tight to begin with, the leather moulds to the foot over time creating an incredibly comfortable boot. I have this a 8/10 as I am sure the comfiest boot out there would feel like you had your foot wrapped in bubble wrap. These boots add a lot more protection and comfort then those of the Nike Vapor.
Performance – 9/10The F50+ is also significantly lighter then most boots, although not as light as the Nike Vapor. Adidas, for some reason or another, decided to make the front kicking portion of the boot calf leather instead of the preferred and more popular kangaroo leather. Even though Adidas made this change they have treated the calf leather to perform like k-leather. The boots, in my opinion, still have equal touch to the k-leather boots on the market. The interchangeable insoles provided upon purchase of the boot allow you to fine-tune your football boot for the exact feel and performance desired. The boot comes with 3 Customized Interchangeable FusionFrame Insoles. With each insole the boot is easily changed to adjust your boots weight, stability, flexibility and comfort levels.
Lightweight: For maximum speed and quickness
Professional: For optimum performance
Comfort: For ultimate stability and cushioning.
Durability – 7/10Some have complained that the toe area on the outside of the boot rips apart after a fair bit of use. I have yet to encounter this but with proper maintenance this can be avoided. The boots are quite durable and Adidas has made this evident with the high abrasion textile allowing no water to enter the boot if playing in the wet or on a muddy football pitch.
Overall – 9/10Overall Adidas have found a great combination of a lightweight, comfortable and good looking boot in the F50+. I would not hesitate to buy these boots again as they do a world of good. The break in time takes a little bit longer then usual but once that period is over, these boots are magnificent. The value for money is terrific as we see more and more boots being very pricey. I have to say these are my favourite boots that I have bought. I would recommend these boots for a player in any position as they are very much the all round boot.

QUOTE(zizou10-5 @ Dec 14 2005, 08:23 PM)

thnaks ejtek, hey u know foe the insoles can u give us mor einfo n theie actual differences and functions if its not too hard.....Thanks
You certainly can.
The Interchangeable FusionFrame Insoles:
The boots actually don't have a midsole platform as most other boots do (i.e Vapors and the issue with it snapping). The FusionFrame insoles are stiff and act as a midsole plate aswell, so these insoles aren't like the one's you would find in the Predator Pulse series as you could bend it each and every way, you could only bend these insoles at the top of it where the foot and toes meet; When you sprint it's like a hinge effect with your toes staying parallel to the ground and the top of your foot bending up to move the body weight foward. Ok, as I explained in the previous post the boots come with 3 different insoles for the boots.
Now the insoles are differentiated in their respected features,
a.
Flexibility- How flexible the front of the insole is (towards the front of the foot).
b.
Lightweight- How lightweight the insole is (only a subtle amount of weight, but still noticable in some cases).
c.
Cushioning - The amount of cushioning the insole provides to make stud pressure an absolute thing of the past.
d.
Stability- The amount of stability provided by the insole to make sure your foot is anatomically correct when your push off to chase the ball or strike it.
The Lightweight insole: For maximum speed and quicknessThe lightweight insole provides the highest flexibility rate of all the insoles. This insole, as the name states, is also the winner in the lightweight catergory. So, increasing the flexibility also means that this insole has a deficiency in stability to get maximum flexibility. The insole is also lightweight so they have sacrificed the cushioning feature in the lightweight insole to provide the lightest one out of the three.
The Professional insole: For optimal performanceThe professional insole has all features at a medium rate. The flexibility isn't high, nor low, it is medium. Same goes with the cushioning, stability and lightweight areas. This insole is the "in between" of all the insoles as it covers all the features evenly. It's the choice of those confused about which to chose.
The Comfort Insole: For ultimate stability and cushioningThe comfort insole does just that. Sacrificing flexibility and lightweight, the comfort insole has the highest score in the fields of comfort and stability. For those of you who find the boots to be too big, just whack in the comfort insole, and it adds more bulk under your foot adding more padding to raise your foot higher in the boot.

Okay you have my reviews. Hope that it will contribute to The Boot Room.
Puma King Execs:
Aesthetics - 7/10
Pretty nice looking boot, all-round K-leather. The lacing system might a bitch though, I got a little confused over them at first but sorted it out. A bit too plain looking to my liking though. More innovative colourway would be nice too.
Value - 8/10
Compared to many other boots, this is one of the cheapest. In my country, it is almost half the price of the absolutes. But I've heard of stories that their K-leather is fairly weak and some was damaged. But nothing has happen to mine yet. So value wise, its pretty worth it with the low pricing.
Comfort - 9/10
K-leather upper. Because of this, it moulds to your foot almost perfectly. Does not give blisters, whatsoever. But be sure to buy them 1/2 to 1 size smaller because they do stretch like melted cheese. Able to rival Copa Mundials in terms of comfort, IMO.
Performance - 8/10
Comfort and performance comes hand-in-hand IMO. Without comfort, how well can the boot perform ?? The touch on the ball is very nice, because, as mentioned above, it moulds to your foot perfectly giving you a nice, close feel on the ball. But the tip of the boot is somewhat weird, because its a little pointy, so I guess you should look out for that.
Durability - 8/10
Nothing bad has happened to mine yet, but as I've said, I heard bad stories about the leather. A bitch to clean too, because its leather and worse if its white. I've also noticed that the craftsmanship is a bit questionable.
Overall - 8.5/10
Good overall boot IMO, would recommend them with their low price and great comfort.
Hope you would take my review into consideration, I might do one on my Copa Mundials and Mecurial Vapors too. Perhaps even azt90 III, if my brother can help.

finally, the nike mercurial vapor 2 FG
ok well the first reason i got thses boots were because they looked so sleek, and they were extremely lightweight. It took me a while to break thses in. so at first they were uncomfy,.As the nike skin started to mold, they started to feel real nice due to hoe smooth they are. The heel counter is very small, so that didnt really help me. Actually, i got very sore in the heels. These boots are terrible for shooting. This is because they have no weight to back the shot up. But these are very light and i think do make a difference in sprinting. Now i wear a size 11 1/2 shoes US,and because my foot was very long, the vapors took alot of strees and snapped at the sole plate. And i could feel the diff when running because i could hear and feel it pop at the bottom of my foot. But the good thing is i can trade them in for a nice new shiny pair . its like gettin an unlimited supple of vapors for 160 bucks

Another boot review from me:
Copa Mundials:
Aesthetics- 5.5/10
Damn, they are a pair of ugly boots IMO. Very plain and simple. The tongue is quite a bit of problem because it hardly stays down.
Value- 8/10
Compared to other newer version of boots, the Copa Mundials are relatively cheap, even cheaper than the Puma King Execs.
Comfort- 9.5/10
Wow, this is one comfortable boot. K-leather upper, moulds to your foot perfectly. The studs configuration is suprising good too, although on some thicker field, it might be too short. No blisters, whatsoever. The most comfortable boot I've owned. They are K-leather so be sure to get them 1/2 or 1 size smaller.
Performance- 9/10
The K-leather upper gives briliant a touch on the ball. Because it moulds to your foot, there will be close feel on the ball and that is a good thing because it allows better control of the ball.
Durability- 7/10
Not a very durable boot, because mine has ripped a bit in certain areas. Because it is made the very soft K-leather, it is fairly weak too. Other than that, nothing is too bad about the craftsmanship of the boot. Take note that they are a bitch to clean.
Overall- 9/10
This boot has its pros and cons. But IMO, the pros seriously outweight the cons. Not very durable, yes but the cheap price should even it out. The performance is superb, so I guess that outweighs the ugliness of the boot.

Adidas Predator ManiaAesthetics- 10/10IMO these are definatly some of the best look boots out there!!! i love all the colors especially the blue. The colors go very well with the features of the boots. I love the way they look with the toungue "beckham style" or even just regular....or i guess "zidane style". definatly a very classy boot indeed and when it comes to the look of these boots they are flawless!!
Value- 7.5/10For the original price, i would say they are definatly a little too expensive. However i got them for $73 so i think i got a great deal! Personally i dont think that boots should be priced over $150 dollars....so im gonna say these a lil on the pricy side! But nowadays i think u can get them for pretty cheap anywhere.
Comfort- 9/10One word to describe them is heaven! Definatly THE most comfortable boots ive ever had (btw i put some of my T90 insoles in there, so for me theyre twice as comfy), but nonetheless they were definatly comfortalbe to begin with. Other boots have hurt my heels or just given me slight discomfort for my ankles, but these are amazing!
Performance- 9/10The Adidas Predator Manias to me is definatly the top predator ever released as far as technology! Very soft Kangaroo leather is teamed up with amazing predator technology that helped me get better grip on my shooting/passing. It is also very lightweight, and also has a Two-piece outsole. The heel counter may also be one of the factors in the comfort area as far as decreasing my pain while playing.
Durability- 8/10Not bad when it comes to durablity. Altho I'm not saying that they're goin to last you as long as say the T90 or any other synthetic boot. Ive owned these for close to 5 1/2 months and i just grew out of them, but they only wore down a little bit and are just starting to make a tiny hole in the toe area. Other than that little area they were fine tho!
Overall- 9.5/10By far the best boots i have ever owned in my life! I would recommend them to anyone out there if you see them on sale! The very soft leather, predator technology, lightweight, and smooth style passes any other boots out there in the market IMO. Definatly a great buy!!!!

Okay well heres a my quick review on the Copa Mundials.
Aesthetics - 8.5/10
I like the "plain and simple" effect used on this boot, the tounge is a bit of a bitch at start but all you need to do is keep elastic bands over a couple of days and it should stay down.
Value - 8/10
This could depend on where you actually live, but from where im from(australia) i have seen prices around $170-$190 which is pretty cheap.
Comfort - 9/10
This boot is very comfortable, its the most comfortable boot I have owned and its also K-Leather. I had a couple of blisters but only for about a week.
Performance - 9.5/10
This boot has a great touch on the ball and as the boot moulds to your foot it just gets better.
Durability - 8/10
Okay well my boot had to be sent back and im still waiting for a new pair(thats if they say its manufacturing problem). On the side of the boot the leather started to rip of the base of the boot(kinda hard to explain) and it was just getting worse everytime i played in them and i had only really worn them for about 2-3 months being 2-3 times a week. Althought other people i know have had their copas for atleast a year.
Overall - 9/10 [43/50 = 0.86]
Pro's - Great Simple Effect, Pretty Cheap, Comfortable, Great touch
Con's - Durability could be better, the flap could use something along the lines of velchro or a strap to keep it down.

Aesthetics- 8.5/10
They got that sex appeal.lol
Value- 8/10
Comfort- 9.5/10
Very comfortable boots. Anyone should love them.
Performance- 9.5/10
The k-leather is so soft. The touch on the ball is incredible.
Durability- 9/10
They have been pretty durable so far even though i have only had them for two months
Overall- 9/10
I recommend this boot too anyone. Get it while u can though from eastbay, footlocker, or ebay. Because my sources tell me they are going out of production.

Puma KSL GoldPictures:http://jasonhouliston.fotopic.net/p19073917.htmlhttp://jasonhouliston.fotopic.net/p19073919.htmlAesthetics:I think these boots look great. They have a good mix of new and old design. The boots look simple and classic, but also sleek and slimline. The minimilistic design and colour contrast between the Puma Logo and boot is pleasing. The tongue is a nice size and shape, and due to its stitching, stays down well, concealing the lace knot. The quilted stitching design is also good looking.
Rating 7.5/10
Value:I actually bought a sample boot, and paid well below the usual price for the boot. For what I paid for my boots, I found it great value. I'm not sure if I would pay the full price for the boot, seeing as it is made of the inferior calf skinleather.
6/10
Comfort:I bought my boots a bit too small for me, but after wearing them with a hot pair of wet socks, they moulded well to my feet. The boots are extremely comfortable, and the shape of the toebox is perfect.
8/10
Performance:I particularly like the classic symetrical lacing of the boot-it makes it particularly comfortable. The slimline shape of the boot gives you a close feel on the ball and a great touch. The toe box is also nice and sharp, so you can get your foot under the ball eisily for lofted passes. This boot is particularly good in wet weather. The boot is very waterproof because of the treated pittards leather.
8.5/10
Durability:This is the most durable leather boot i have ever worn. There is minimal discolouration at the tip of the boot after repeated use. There is absolutely no sign of separation of leather from the sole. I often rub the boots with leather food and trainer whitener. My boots still look new
9/10
Overall:These boots are highly recomended if you can find them at a good deal. They are the most durable leaher boots I have ever owned-but not the softest. I think these boots would be particularly good in SG as a boot used for wet weather because of its leather properties.

Nike Mercurial Vapor II
Aesthetics 9/10
These are beautiful boots, I love how they look. I've got the chrome ones so they're nice and shiny.
Value 8/10
I got these boots on sale (psh) for $140, which is pretty good. They've held up well for the first 2 months I've played with them (5 days a week, 2+ hours). Again, they look good, which increases the value, and they seem to be good.
Comfort 7/10
These boots are really nice for my feet, considering I have narrow feet and high arches. They have been comfortable up until the last few training sessions, I don't know what happened. I always wear a sock under my game socks so I get better fit, but somehow there was rubbing on my achilles, and that's currently going away. I also feel a tiny bit of stud pressure, but after 5 minutes, it's not noticeable.
Performance 9/10
I've played well in them, and they do not dissapoint. I know it's a little weird for me to have them because I'm a keeper, but they work nicely. I think that they're actually helpful because when I stand up, it seems all the weight is already on my toes, which allows me to react quicker and dive better.
Durability 10/10 (so far)
I've only had them for two months or so, but they've held up great. There is only a small amount of sole separation that is pretty much unnoticeable unless you scrutinize your boots like I do. The only fault I have which is that the laces are a little too long (I should cut and burn, I know), and the lace holes are getting stretched (I tie them really tight).
Overall 8/10
These are good boots, they play well, they look good, and they fit people with narrow feet and high arches really well. I haven't gotten any blisters or anything from the boots, and I'm not planning to. I think anyone who wants to get these boots should, because I have no problems with them and I play keeper.

PREDATOR PULSE
Aesthetics- 9/10
The looks of this boot really grew on me as soon as they came out one of the great looking modern boots around still with great colour combinations
Value- 7/10
i didnt know if i wanted to pay $250 aussie dollars for a pair of boots but i did and it was a pretty good choice but still price needs to come down a bit i reckon. so its ok i guess
Comfort- 9/10
i had big expectations for these boots and their comfort and i wasnt let down. k-leather is so soft!
Performance- 9/10
was very good once you wear them in its hard to pick a fault. performance i think is really down to the comfort cos you can play well in all boots if the boot is comfortable (comfort does it all! imo)
Durability- 8.5/10
well i have had these for about 11 months now and the only problem i had was the straps that keep the tougue down snap (but i quickly got it fixed with a sewing machine

) the leather was pretty dam durable for about 5months and thats when it faded and was starting to wear but only a little!
Overall- 9/10
predator pulse is a hell of a boot stands up to alot of wreck i can tell u that right now!
a great buy for all those people who only are allowed to get 1 pair of boots a year! like myself!

Adidas Absolute Gold/White
OK i'll keep it short,
Aesthetics-9/10
Really beautifully crafted boots, I just kept on wanting to look at them! The white/black/gold is a great combination.
Value-8/10
£100 from JJB but will last me years so they are an investment.
Comfort-9.5/10
First thing I thought was oh my god these are so comfy so I just wore them around the house for days!
Performance-9/10
As you may have read these bend the ball like no other and the powepulse adaption is really like having a lead weight on your foot! With a good ball you can be banging home free kicks all day long.
Durability-9/10
I've been targeted a few times with bad tackles on them because people are jealous I think! And needless to say they held up amazingly.
Overall-9/10
Better than pulses and option to have lighter boot + beutifully soft leather.

Diadora Brasils RTX 12
Aesthetics - 9/10
The Diadora Brasil has a clean style to it. It only has 1-2 colors but with the Diadora tag arranged the way it is on the shoe, it makes it have some pretty nice style. With the 2 colored shoes, the heel counter is a color with the rest of the shoe being another.
Value 9/10
At first these shoes sold at around $120, you can now easily get them for under $100. Cheap IMO considering the price of some boots these days.
Comfort 9.5/10
When i first bought this boot it was really tight on my shoe, I even considered returning it. After a couple practices though, it molded to the exact shape of my foot, making it perfect for me.
Performance 9/10
The Brasil has great durability, and feels light. The upper is Kangaroo leather, so it stretches around 1/2 a size. The RTX studs really do not give that much of a difference than regular PU studs or Bladed studs, IMO though, these 3 different types of studs really don't change the traxion you receive noticeably.
durability 9.5/10
The leather is still attached to this boot after over 1/2 a years hard work. The only problem I had with this boot is Velcro ripping off from the tounge, I sew it back together, and haven't had any problems since.
Overall 9/10
This is a great boot. I would highly recommend this boot now that some places are selling them for $80. If you want a good, long-lasting boot with some style, this is the boot for you.
Misc.
Just to remind you guys, that the Diadora runs a 1/2 size big, I'm a 8.5 in Diadora, 9 in Adidas, and 9.5 in the Puma Boca
Happy Christmas, I hope you enjoyed my review!

Someone has yet to do cellerators, so here goes..
Puma Cellerator04 K
Aesthetics
9/10
They look sexcellent. I have em in red. Sleak and slim, like a corvette. Still has a nice bright red color after countless #'s of use. It's a raw boot. Majority is very very soft K-leather (like touching a hot chicks bosum (sp?)), other than the heel counter and the strip thing on the side. Lacing is symetrical, oldschool style. Tongue isn't too big, not too small. compliments the boot very well.
Value
9/10
Not too expensive, about the same range as F-50+s. The tech is great on them with the e+Cell in the heel (designed to ensure cushioning, stability and durability over the life of the shoe) and the Powerframe tech (prevent recoil of the foot and the negative effects of vibration). The leather is soft and durable. They haven't failed me yet. Great boot for a great price
Comfort
8/10
VERY COMFORTABLE. Only reason i don't give them a 10 is because the arch in the insole is very high at first so i had to break em and adjust it, now they are perfect. Other than that, very comfortable. The leather molds to your foot, the heel counter is great (no blisters). They stretch quite a bit so it's safe to get 1/2 size smaller than normal. i fit an 8 in these and they were tight at first but now they are perfect.
Performance
10/10
Just as someone said earlier, comfort and performance come hand in hand. If your feet are not comfortable in your boots, then your performance is going to be lacking. After breaking the insoles in, the boot is perfect. Great leather, great touch. It has the Powerframe tech but I honestly can't tell that it's there (IMO it's just a bunch of mumbojumbo to make the boot sound better, like the Pred tech, not to bash on the pred), but i guess it somehow makes you perform better? Otherwise, outstanding performance.
Durability
10/10
They haven't fallen apart yet. Leather is still soft and intact. The outsole is still attached, no sign of separation. Not disappointed in them at all. Also, how you maintain your boots is a big part of their durability. TAKE CARE OF YOUR BOOTS.
Overall
10/10
I am a huge fan of cellerators so most definately a 10. These are mos def one of my fav pair of boots. The comfort, the looks, the durability. Everything is great. I'm sure there are some cons that I have overlooked, but this is just my review on them. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THESE. I will post a review on synthetic ones soon. I hope they come out with new colorways soon, or a new model. I'm damn excited about the v1.06 and the konstruct(?? not sure if that's the model name), both look very sweet.

nike legend fg-9/10
anesthitics-great looking boot (white/red) really classic, different from my others.
Value-i got a deal on them, 105USD from my buddy in portland

even so they are a solid price compared to preds and vaps.
durability-have held up well so far, only had em for 2 weeks.
comfort-on of the most comfortable boots ever, even for my narrow foot.
Performance-comfort has alot to do with this, so they are great i love the kangaroo leather.

Puma V1 FG ReviewClick to view attachmentClick to view attachmentAesthetics ~*~*~ 9/10Everyone has their own opinion, but it's hard not to like these cleats because they are aesthetically simple, easy on the eyes, but can be very flashy if you're that type of player. There are currently two colorways, this red one (Eto'o), and a white/black which Rivaldo wore in the CL match against Real. Personally I think the Puma cat is quite catchy and I am currently preferring it over the Vapor swoosh.
Value ~*~*~ 9/10I got these through a friend who has some connections on Hong Kong, but looking at the pricing on major retailers (justsocca, soccer.com) I think the value is amazing, they are very affordable to anyone. Don't expect a price drop within a year though, as the V1 will be making it's major debut in the African Nations Cup, and then the upcoming World Cup (thanks to Rich for the info).
Comfort ~*~*~ 8/10Don't expect Air Zoom style comfort, but the soles feel great IMO (and can be removed for cleaning). I had no problems with any pains whatsoever in my games. They kind of wrap onto your feet like a glove, bit like k-leather for the feel, and although in certain angles they look narrow, they are NOT (compared to Vapor 2's which i also own). They can probably fit wider feet, the toebox is not too tight. The material is not hard, there is no rubbing against the heel or whatever, but different socks provide different feel. I am wearing medium to thick socks as seen in the pic above, but after a few more games I will try very thin socks for even better feel.
It could be just me, but the fiber DOES stretch a little, not permanently, but expands a bit for a glove-like fit rather than squeezing your foot like Vapors.
Performance ~*~*~ 9/10Reason I dont give a 10 just yet is because my skills limit me

I dont have the magic touch of Zidane or crazy skills like Ronaldinho, but performance-wise I think they are great simply because they are LIGHT. I think they are one of the lightest if not THE lightest boot on the market right now. The material is a kind of fiber, with a technical name you can find on soccer.com. At first glance you may think it is cloth, but it's not, it's some kind of woven fiber that does not tear. While it doesnt have any of that first touch gloss gimmick that Nikeskin offers, it is so thin that I can feel the ball with every touch and every dribble. Acceleration and explosiveness can be fully achieved with the V1. The FG studs are extremely well placed that it grips the ground extremely well (the studs are like blades but not sharp), you can sprint stop twist and turn without worry of a slip or twisting your ankle. The heel counter is excellent and provides stability. It is difficult to sprain your ankle unless you really try.
Shooting and crossing deserves some special mention here. If you are really weak and have problems with power on your shots and long passes, you might be better off with Legends or AZT or any other boot with more padding. These cleats are so thin that they give little to no protection at all. It can be a godsend for those light touches and fancy dribbling, but can be tricky if you're trying a Roberto Carlos-style drive shot. If you're naturally a hard shooter you wont have problems, but if you're used to the heavy padding of AZT and Legends, it might hurt your feet a little if you kick very hard. Not that that would be bad for you, it's a great way to condition your feet. Conclusion: the V1 is designed for speedy players (mostly forwards) who have great ball control and can place their shots. You can definitely curl with these babies if you have the technique.
Click to view attachmentDurability ~*~*~ N/AI haven't played with them long enough to judge on durability, but have had no problems so far. I don't think the fiber would tear easily unless someone with blades somehow slashes your cleats, or you get stepped on by a big guy wearing SG (

). The studs, the sole plate, the heel counter, are all solidly built. Because they are not insanely expensive, I would buy them to rotate with another pair of cleats, rather than wearing them day in day out. I can imagine the white ones being a bit difficult to clean, as I have no idea how to rub off dirt and mud, so I cringe at the thought of that.. fortunately I played on a clean pitch so I just brushed off the dust.
Overall ~*~*~ 9.5/10Definitely my favorite boot so far. Up close, the texture looks and feels like crocodile skin. They fit my style perfectly, relying on bursts of speed and quick turns to beat people, and passing quickly. The tip of the boot is also thin and I had a blast chipping people, it was so easy getting the tip under the ball that makes lobbing a pleasure (you can feel and lift the ball with your toes). Also took a few free kicks and had NO problems clearing the wall. They look great, feel great, and are "unique" because not many people wear Puma compared to Nike and Adidas. I think that will change very soon

QUOTE(SUSCkuna @ Jan 17 2006, 05:58 PM)

whats the sizing like on those v1's? and is it narrow or does it stretch well?
Sizing is similar to Vapors, but wider. US10 = UK9 = EUR43 and i think you should buy 1 size larger, if thats not available (ie you wear US9.5) then half a size is also fine unless you have long feet.

Nike Mercurial Vapor
Aesthetics- 9.5/10The Vapors are probably one of the best-looking boots out there, hands down. They look like some space-age boots from another advanced galaxy--all the colors and smooth shape of the boots just flow together perfectly. They look like they're meant to go fast, which is exactly why they were created! (The only reason why I didn't give them a 10 in this category is because no boot is completely perfect.)
Value- 8/10At a starting price of around $200, I thought it was a rip-off. I don't think that any boots are worth $200, but I really wanted this boots, so I shopped around online a bit and finally found these boots for only $110 somewhere on the web. Now that's a good deal!!
Comfort- 8.5/10I know people have said this before, but I'll say it again--these are not very comfortable boots (at first). These boots are very difficult to break in, so you might get blisters wearing them for the first couple weeks unless you have the "perfect" feet to fit these boots. For me, I got a few blisters on my heels, but then the Nikeskin started to form to my foot and they felt great, mainly because I have narrow feet and high arches, so after a while these fit me perfectly.
Performance- 9/10This may sound weird considering that I'm a goalkeeper, but these boots are great, especially if you're a forward, or even a keeper like me. I found that these boots gave me a little more boost on my diving and jumping because they're so light, so they don't weigh me down when diving. And when I'm running out of the box for a loose ball, it feels like I'm barefoot--sometimes I forget that I'm even wearing them because they only weigh about 7 ounces.
Durability- 9/10After having these boots for 4 months, these boots have held up great. They have a few scuffs here and there, but that's what you'd expect for any boots that you wear just about every day. The Nikeskin is really durable and it seems almost impossible to get a rip in it. The only problem is that there is a small amount of sole separation, but it's hardly noticeable unless you really look hard.
Overall- 9/10As I said in the above paragraphs, these are some great boots. They're very durable, and they're perfect for goalkeepers who like a little spring in their step and are even better for forwards who need to run fast. If you have narrow feet, these boots would be great, but people with wider feet will probably be suited just fine.
Cheers

Oh, and heres a review of my legends.
Aesthetics 5/5
No matter which way you look at these boots, they’re simply beautiful. The modernization of this boot is now heavily popularized by many pros. This includes the player of the year, Ronaldinho, and other players such a Paul Scholes. An excellent thing about these boots is that it comes in a wide variety of colors. This includes Red/White, Black/White, Special limited edition Gold/White who are used my Ronaldinho (hence the name, R10 Legends), Silver/Black, and soon to be Blue/White. All of these look excellent, but I went with the red/white ones. Simply beautiful IMO.
Value 5/5
The Legends are definitely worth every penny, which isn’t many compared to other boots. I only paid $125 US currency for them compared to $200 like Predators and Total 90s. For the amount of money paid, compared to the actual product, it levels itself out easily.
Comfort 5/5
Comfort is a huge aspect when looking for a boot, and this certainly will comfort anyone beyond his or her wildest dreams. Comfort in a boot is a huge part of your game, so don’t be like everyone else and get pulses or absolutes if they’re not comfortable like you want them to be. These will definitely comfort anyone’s foot to narrow to wide.
Also, to provide extra comfort, there’s the Zoom Air unit in the heel. This by far IMO is better than any other insole comfort system. Kelme, Adidas, etc. all have their own insole comfort system, but none of them can match Nikes are zoom unit. Absolutely pure class.
Performance 5/5
Every time you watch soccer on the TV, you definitely see pros wearing the legends, not necessarily famous sometimes, and you wonder why. Well, this kinda speaks for itself. The performance factor of these boots is amazing. The kangaroo leather provides the greatest feeling of the ball you could imagine. Every aspect of the ball is felt when receiving the ball from the ground or the air. The studs also play a great role in performance. The configuration and shape of them provide great traxion with quick turns and cuts. The comfort also helps in achieving great performance.
Durability 4/5
The only real flaw I see in these boots is the durability. I have had these boots for 5/6 months now, 1.5 seasons worth around. I have beaten the hell out of these things, and they’re holding up pretty well for 3 hours 6 days a week. Except, some of threads eventually tear up, and a piece of the leather is beginning to tear up too. After a combination of Varsity and high competition club ball, you gotta expect some wear, but I kinda think this is more than it should.
Score- 4.8/5

I have a pair of Leira.
Value I got mine for about 150 ringgit, which is about 45 USD. Decent boots for it's price. 8/10
Comfort wise it's ok once u have broken it in. But I suffered from bad blisters on both my heels cos the plastic on the heel is real stiff @ 1st. But rest assured it will be fine after u wear it in. 8/10
It looks like the aveiro just that it doesn't have a split sole and an external heel counter and no assymetrical lacing. 8/10
The ULT-K (treated calf leather) on the boot is extremely soft, softer than all the calf leather boots that I have tried on, and is mayb as soft as some K-leather boots. The leather is quite thin too, making it a light boot. 9/10
Durability wise, the boot has held up well after about 3 months use, with the boot being used about thrice a week. So far there has been very little wear on the sole plate and the tips on both boots show a little wear. 9/10
Overall, it's an 8.5/10 for me, especially good value for it's price, which is about 45 USD.

Nike Mercurial Talaria III FG White/Gold
Aesthetics 5/5
They look very nice i personally think they look better than the vapors especially the heel counter. The overall look of the boot doesnt differ much from the vapor III's. Only problem is its white/gold which might be a pain in the arss to clean later on.
Value 5/5
I only paid $110 Australian (roughly 90 US) as i got $40 dollars off as my fathers friend is a manger at the store i got them in, other wise they would of cost me $160 which is pretty damn good as they are half the price of the vapor's and they look great too.
Peformance N/A
Cant really comment on them as ive only played one match in them. The studs where really nice and grippy and the feel of the ball was pretty good and they felt nice they werent to heavy at all
Comfort 4.5/5
As my feet are a bit wide it was a bit uncomfortable putting them on the first time but once i got into them they felt really nice and snug. They sure as hell felt more comfortable than my old Total 90 III's.
Durability N/A
Cant really comment on durability as ive only worn them in a match not to long ago theres a little bit of strectch marks but thats to be expected.
Overall score 14.5/15 a nice comfortable boot and pretty good value concindering these are the version below the Vapor III's which retails here in Australia for around $350 Australian.

So I looked through this and I didn't see if there was a Nike AZT90II review. Sorry this couldn't be a more updated boot. Well, hope you all enjoy.
Nike Air Zoom Total 90 II
Aesthetics- 10/10
This is probably one of the most inovative designs for a boot. IMO Nike should've based their other T90 boots closer to these. For all of the newer, flashier boots out today, these still catch my attention. I love the outer part of the boot where the color fades. Two thumbs up.
Value- 10/10
I'm an ebay person if I want new boots. I got these just before AZT90IIIs came out. So while these were full price in soccer shops I got about $120 for these and they've been worth every penny. They are just starting to wear out and I've had these for over a year so far.
Comfort- 8/10
These are probably some of the most comfortable boots I have. I can feel the air units they put in the sole. Personally I feel great as soon as I put these on, but sometimes with thick socks they are a little tight, and I don't have a really wide foot either. I've only gotten blisters really bad once, and it wasn't after I just got them.
Performance- 10/10
I have to first compliment Nike for their cleat formation. I have been able to play on every type of field with these. When the pitches are drenched I haven't slipped once! Nor have I slipped on a really hard pitch either. At first I was skeptical about them because I wasn't really sure what KNG was nor the quality of it, but it has definitly impressed me. I get the best touch with these, plus the First Touch strips they put on the KNG is pretty nice too. The off center lacing is nice. I prefer it to centered lacing, not that I think it makes a difference, I just think it's more comfortable.
Durability-10/10
So far I'm still going strong with my AZT90s.Almost a year and a half and they are just starting to wear. The insole is starting to get a little torn up though, I'm starting to get a big whole in the heel. Just be sure to wipe off with a wet rag, mine still look decent for being white/black.
Overall- 9/10
If you are looking for a good "all-around" boot, Nike's AZT90 II will do the trick. The KNG is one of the best materials I've ever had on a boot of mine. It's still pretty soft. You will love this boot. If you have narrow feet they will feel big because there is a lot of space in these boots. I would recommend these for anyone.

Nike Mercurial Vapor 3
Aesthetics- 10/10
One word describes these shows...WOW. These are the whitest shoes i have ever put on my feet and the yellow/gold that fades on the heel is great looking. Theres not much to say about these shoes looks. They are very classy looking, not a lot of bells and whistles, just great looks. Scuff very easily, though, but a can of Goof-Off works wonders.
Value- 8.5/10
195 dollars is quite expensive but its worth it. The shoe is quite revolutionary in almost every single way. Its amazing that they can put comfort and lightness together like this. the little extra padding is worth 15 more bucks, IMO.
Comfort- 9/10
Vapors have a really, really specific fit. Every part of your foot has to be perfectly shaped to fit into this boot perfectly. But the good news is that theres a bit of a margin of error so if yer foot is perfectly shaped (nobodys is) then they are stil very very comfortable. The heel pad has little things that stick out and hug your achiles tendon and keep your heel from moving at all.T he counter also helps a lot in this area. The heel pad doesnt only work on the back of the heel, either. The padding extends well into the shoe so the bottom and back of your heel are equally comfortable. If not worn correctly, though, they can still cause a little bit of a sore spot where it meets your achiles. The counter also helps a lot in this area. The insole has a textured bottom that absorbs a little bit of shock caused from running. The toe box seems a little higher than vapor 2's, also, so more foot types can fit into it. There is very little break-in time, too, so they fit great the first time you wear them.
Performance- 9/10
These shoes are great in this area. They are super-light so they at least make you feel a little faster. The studs grip the ground very well. Only thing wrong is that the thin upper can cause the ball to hurt your foot a little bit, but thats not a huge deal. The heel counter comes in real handy during games too. No movement of your foot during lateral movements. Striking the ball is nice with these. I have really good control with free kicks but i cant seem to drive a ball near to the ground with my laces. This is prolly just a practice thing, though.
Durability-N/A
Only had them a few weeks so i cant really tell how they are going to last. The scuff marks can add up after a while if you dont clean them off. The lace-holes are the only things im worried about in the least. If you tie your shoes really tight like me then the holes stretch a tiny bit right away. Im a little bit afraid that after a few months of use ill have a couple ripped lace-holes.
Overall- 9/10
If you can afford these and liked the vapor 2's then these are terrrific boots. If youve had yer eyes on vapors but never owned a pair cause you were afraid your foot is too wide, like me, then these are even more for you. They are super comfy, perform well, look great, theres no way you can go wrong with these!

Air Zoom Total 90 III SG White/Chrome/Yellow
Aesthetics - 9/10The use of two dominant colours on this boot make it appealing to the eye, as it doesn't look too busy like some other boots. As KNG 100 synthetic is used on this boot, it gives the boot a nice shiny surface and look to it. I prefer this version of the AZT90s rather than the original with the big 90 on the instep, which I did not like too much. This colourway is also one of the nicest released in the series, as the chrome makes it look even shinier than others. I also really like the idea of having a decal that you can put into the heel with your squad number, I'm hoping to get one with 4 on but I can't find any shops that sell them near me as SportsWorld have sold out of them.
Value - 7.5/10I wouldn't buy any high end boots for their RRP as it is just too much but I got these for a bargain price, which I am very happy with, I even got these for less than the low end version which I have had before. For the RRP I would say that the value of the boot is just too much as they are only boots and will not affect your play that much unless they are really uncomfortable on your feet. I have based my score on both the price I got them for and the RRP as they are really expensive on sites such as PDS
Comfort - 9/10The air zoom on these make this boot comfortable, however there is a lack of arch support and sometimes hurts the arch of my foot, which makes the boot less comfortable to wear. With these boots being for soft ground, they are not as flexible as firm ground which are more versatile on different pitches, whereas I will only be able to wear these if the ground is damp and soft, otherwise they will kill my feet.
Performance - 9/10With me having very wide feet, these fit on very snug and do not feel loose, therefore I have a better touch with this. You can really concentrate on you game, as these boots are comfortable instead of worrying about your boots. With the asymmetrical lacing, you get a cleaner striking surface for the ball giving it a nice touch. I like to have tongues on my boots, as it makes my boot feel tighter an more snug, however I can just tuck away the end of the laces into the side of a boot which is pretty neat as they don't get in the way. The touch isn't as good as with leather but it is still great.
Durability - 8.5/10 As I clean my boots after every game, these will last me for a long time. And with the boot being synthetic, they are easy to clean and are low maintenance, compared to leather boots. However there is some slight splitting from the sole plate, but it seems that it has stopped.
Overall- 8.5/10Overall, I find that this is a good all round comfortable boot, and with having wide feet they fit very snug and give a good touch. I would have prefered to have got some Legends but I got these for a bargain price so I'm not complaining, and they will last me a long time.

Predator Absolute Beckham Synthetic
Aesthetics - 9/10
it is probably the sickest boot i've seen. just looks cool. very pleasing to the eye and looks hott. the rouge part is more maroon than anything and the silver is more grey than completely silver like the total 90 III chrome like silver.
Value - 6/10
honestly, all the technology in the boot doesn't make you any better than any other pair of cleats. however there is the line you draw between advanced player and amateur. but it's not completely worth its value. i paid 159.99 for mine on eastbay so it doesn't seem to harsh. if i had to buy them for 200, i wouldn't do it.
Comfort - 7/10
little uncomfortable at first because the synthetic is not broken in. if you've had total 90 III, the material on absolute is heavier and stiffer. when they break in, it's amazingly like no material you've ever felt before. like a synthetic glossy kangaroo leather. it becomes very very soft. main point. get one that fits your fit right and it will feel great after a few uses to break in the synthetic. don't worry if it feels too stiff when they are brand new.
Performance - 8/10
just another predator. what can you expect than for it to be a professional performance cleat. the liquid predator stuff, however, is absolutely useless IMO. the real predator stuff is IMO not that important either. i wouldn't know though. i can kick long range and do shots pretty damn hard and cross accurately, but from my previous total 90 III and sambanovas, it feels the same. but it's just a different type of shoe than others so you'll have to utilize the features to make it play your own game.
Durability - 10/10
i've played through 10 raining practices about 2 months of daily practice for 2hours withem and played on 5 different high school fields so far. they're not gonna break apart anytime soon. like the total 90 III, they are solid. only gets sweeter with more use.
Overall - 7/10
you can get a cleat like this anywhere else. it's just a different boot but in the end, you'll play like you've always played. my 3rd generation of predators i've had. i'd probably buy the next predator after this shoe. absolute is great. performs like a top quality shoe.
if you have super wide feet, i wouldn't recommend them too much. mine are kinda wide and i get arch pain from time to time when i don't tie the cleats much or tie them too tight. they are incredibly light when you take out the power pulse, but it doesn't matter. it feels alot lighter in your hand but when you run, you won't know. the heel support is the best i've felt. the material is amazing once you get it broken in. it looks badass. they should come up with a more innovative lacing system that is more comfortable like the v1 or AZT. overall, if you've got 200 USD to blow off, try every boot from 100-200 and pick what you like from there. 200 is a huge range for boots. Absolute is just a professional quality cleat that looks cool and performs as expected. nothing special like the v1 or vapor. classically predators. just more damn complex.
and some pics for your enjoyment. i don't think anyone is cool enough to put up pics of the inside of the shoe.

i'm also getting the k-leather absolutes tomorrow, so i'll try to get a review of the difference between the two.

Puma V3.06 FG US size 12
Made In: China
External Heel Counter: yes
Lacing: side integrated lacing
Outsole Material: Molded TPU
Primary Upper Material: Synthetic leather
Stud Material: PU
Stud Shape: Bladed
Suitable For: Firm Natural Surfaces
Weight: 215g / 7.6 ounces
ReviewAesthetics (9/10): These boots look amazing! The white and red contrast with the grey lacing area is very pleasing to the eye, along with the external heel counter. The bottom of the boot is probably one of my favorite features of this boot. From just looking at it, it is very striking, the Carbon Fiber like design of the sole plate and the Puma silhouette with the studs and heel counter look great. The only drawback is that the white material gets dirty VERY easily, but what else do you expect with white boots.
Value (9/10): These boots are essentially the same as the V1.06 except for the soleplate and the upper material. The weight isn’t much different, and everything else is the same. For almost $100 less than the V1’s I think these boots are a steal for the USD $79.99.
Comfort (8/10): Having just purchased these boots today I have only worn them inside my workplace, so comfort hasn’t really become an issue yet. The upper does fit very snug around your foot. It’s a little awkward to put on at first, with the laces on the side, but you will get used to it quickly. The synthetic feels very soft and the liner lend to the idea that they feel like they will adjust to your foot very well. The only strange piece about these shoes is the pointed toe. It is NOT a drawback but it does look a little strange, my toes don’t come to a point in the middle but this will most likely NOT be a problem. After using them outside over the weekend I can say that the synthetic upper is very soft once it warms up. I purposely let the sit and get cold so I could see how the material adjusted and if it changed the fit at all. Normally I wear a size 12 in everything and this boot is no different, once the boots warms up a little they start to give and the fit perfectly.
Performance (9/10): Even in the heavy rain these boots performed well. I couldn’t put them under a lot of strain as I am still recovering from an ACL tear. The drills I was able to run the boots did great. The stud configuration gives a lot of traction and stability, especially in the heel. The entire boot fits well and provides GREAT touch and feel on the ball. I had been using Predator Precision’s and the first thing I noticed with these boots is how thin the material is and the great touch it gives on the ball. Overall all I can say that I think they perform better than my old predator precision’s.
Durability (?/10): Don’t know yet, but there where a few things that kind of caught my attention about the quality of this boot. When looking at the heel counter I noticed a fold of material that was “caught” under the heel counter. When the counter was put on it must have been wrinkled and it never got straightened out, but this does not cause a problem with the shoe itself.
The Verdict (9/10): These are wonderful boots for the money. There are a few things like the material snags under the heel counter that are a little iffy. But that’s probably a one-off deal. Overall, I would definitely buy another pair of these boots if I needed to and I would recommend them to my friends. One thing to watch out for is the studs on the heel counter, if you’re not careful you can scrape you leg pretty good on a pass, in other words the studs are pretty sharp. These boots are very easy to clean! After my first set of drills they were a dingy shape of tan with all the mud and dirt, i took a wet paper towel and wiped them off and they were as bright white as they were when i took them out of the box!
I hope this helps all those potential buyers out there!
If you have any questions please PM me or let me know, I am more than happy to answer.

Predator Absolute K-Leather red/black
Looks: very nice.
Value: i don't know. don't ask.
Comfort: yes very comfortable. wraps around your foot comfortably. and also very soft insole and inside in general.
Performance: doesn't seem like 100% k-leather working at the ball. compared to copas, kinda like a semi-leather feel. they are very flexible upper in general. traction is nice.
Durability: so far been 1 month, i think good. just a few scuffs on the toe leather as you can see. but i think it's okay. people say the leather is really thin, which it is. But it's also really soft and unless you take a razor and make a big cut, it should probably stay together. don't worry, it shouldn't tear unless you terribly suck and kick people's sharp studs or kick the ground all the time.
Overall: i give it a 8/10. I love the kangaroo leather cus it's so damn soft. ridiculously soft. the cushioning is improved from pulses. it's a very cushy leather. very accurate with kicks and bends in dry ground, rain, watever it is.
ANything else? the shoe might seem a little big at first but it shrinks a little. don't be too worried if the shoes are a little longer than the pulse. it is somewhat a narrow shoe but works fine for wide feet.
IMpoRTANT: the shoes are on the heavy side with the powerpulse in and out. the Beckhams are far lighter. but to me it's not that big of a deal cus it's just a shoe, but when you hold it in your hands, they are heavy.
Now the pictures...

Aesthetics ~ 9.5/10
Right before I got my first pair of V 1.06, I was all hung up on the legends. A friend of mine had recently got the legends and allowed me to try them on to see if I liked them since I was debating on getting them. Then it happened, one day I was watching a Barca match and from the corner of my eyes I saw Eto’o with something red on his feet. As if the Camera man read my mind the focus was zoomed to the Red V1 that Eto was wearing. Needless to say it was love at first sight, the simple puma design and colour took me hook line and sinker. The puma cat design is extremely catchy in my opinion with the puma swoosh on the other side of the boot to perfectly compliment the design. The only reason that I took off .5 in this decision is due to the fact that it is a little tedious to clean. But if you know what you are doing its no problem. When I see the boots dirty I use Neutrogena facial bar soap with some hot water and a medium toothbrush to clean it. It cleans pretty good I must admit. Or if the stain is really bad I use K2 dry cleaning spray. I hate cleaning my boots maybe that’s why I’m making a fuss about the condition about the shoe after using them. But if you love the design as much as I do you would want it to shine like a brand new shilling for every game.
Comfort ~ 9.5/10
For me the main thing about a pair of footwear is comfort. It could have the most amazing technological feats and even make you coffee, but if it’s not comfortable I don’t want it. I had various boots in my history of football, most recent before the V1 was the vapor 2 (which even I tried breaking in a month I still had minor discomfort at my heel.). The thing that I love about the V1 is the simple fact that if you are for example a size 10.5 you need to buy a 10.5. Breaking in, you ask may ask? You don’t need to break these glorious shoes in, they slip right on your foot like a sock and you are set for another day at the office. I took off .5 from this mark because since the upper is micro fiber getting stepped on may hurt you, not much but I normally walk it off in like 5 secs or so. I guess I got stepped on so many times that I don’t fall on the floor rolling from the pain of this upper.
Performance ~ 10/10
For performance, all you need is the skill and desire and you are ready to make your name in history. Whether it is Sunday football with your mates or the world cup, the V1 will get you there faster with style and technique. I honestly don’t know how on earth i tend to play better with the V1. Maybe it’s due to the fact I used my old azt90 which was a heavy boot, both on touches and in weight and I got used to controlling and performing with such and old shoe that my transition to the V1 seemed flawless and my skills jumped drastically. Or maybe its some kind of special magic that puma puts into the V1, if I were to say I knew I would be telling a lie. All I know is that when I get on the field with the V1 almost nothing could stop me from scoring goals or performing at a higher level than I did previously. High flying cross ball to my feet, boom first touch like magic to set me up to shoot. One or two defenders facing me on way to goal, lightness of the boot and subtle touch comes into play as I whisk past the opposition. Get a pass right outside the 18 yd mark; am I afraid to test the keeper with these shoes? No way is Jose, the contact that I get from the shoe top notch while shooting. With my previous shoes I would hesitate to take a shot from outside thinking that I may slice the ball away, but with this thin material its getting more contact directly on my foot thus it goes where I want it and at what pace I send it at.
Durability ~ ??/10
Pending, although i had them for about 2-3 months its still work in progress. Maybe i should take a knife and stab my boot to see how they hold up, but so far so good (knocks on wood)
Value ~ 10/10
I run these boots into the ground almost everyday and considering the price that I paid for it I consider it an extremely exceptional value. With other pair of shoes I may notice little scuffs or threads or something coming out but with these nothing yet. The comfort, design and performance of this shoe is all that you could honestly ask for in a boot

[size=5] PREDATOR MANIAS
Aesthetics - 9/10
the mania has a great low profile look and the tongue makes the whole boot just pop out to you on the field.
Value 9.5/10
At first these shoes sold at around $210, but you can get a pair for under $120 now. for this shoe i think 150 would be a GREAT deal. (i just got a pair for 90

)
Comfort 9/10
when i got this boot it felt snug on my foot but after awhile it molded to my foot like a glove. although the boot is made a little narrow it will give a little because is it high quality K leather.
Performance 9.5/10
The mania is a light K leather boot, although it is not as light as the vapor series it will get you there. The upper is Kangaroo leather, so it stretches a little. The traxion studs really bite onto the ground but hard cuts and turns during intense game play. The firm ground are perfect got dry surfaces.
durability 9.5/10
i wore these boots for like 8 months and they held up wonderfully. all the leather is intact and it is in good condition.
Overall 9/10
this boot is awesome! i would recommend this boot to someone with narrow feet and wants to get notices on the field and still have a good performing boot with style.

Umbro X-Boot II fg -> gold-vapour-red:
Aesthetics: 7,5/10:
the x-boot ii comes with different colors and technologies u can see from the outside. the inner part of the shoe is all white (called vapour by umbro) and made of high grade k-leather. the red X on the forefoot is also made of k-leather. the other part is gold and made of leather, too but doesnt have the quality as the inside. the external heel counter (-technology) is called exo skeleton iii and it has the 3 listed colors. the laces are also high grade (thin and strong) but they are to long for me (bought new shorter ones). the lace-cover (flip tongue) is also made of standard-leather.
imo the inside (white part) looks very nice and the leather is sooo soft, but the outside leather isnt that good and the looking is also not that good.
Value: 9,5/10:
the x-boot ii is a high end boot that comes around 140-150(rrp)€. compared to other boots at this class its very well priced (btw: soccer.com has it for 200$...dont know, if umbro is that expensive in the us).
compared to other boots (rrp):
vapor/absolute: 200€ tunit: 195€ f50+: 180€ x-boot 2: 150€ air legend/king exec: 125€
Comfort: 8/10:
the comfort/fitting of the theese umbros differs from my other boots (adidas pred. pulsion sg, pred. maniac hg, puma liga turf...), because this boot seems to be made for wide feet. when i got in the first time, it felt like the boot is to big. i have them now for about 4/5 weeks and the leather lied down on the feet like a secound skin. for me its the comfiest boot ive ever owned. it fits widely but well.
Performance: 8,5/10:
performance is nothing without comfort, so comfort and performance come along together. as i said that the x-boot ii fits very well if offers a very good performance. the touch u get through the high grade leather is awesome and u have control over all "activities" the ball does. compared to my other boots it offers me the best performance.
Durability: 8,5/10:
as i said i have the boot for about 4/5 weeks. the problem is i could wear them for just 2 matches. it seems that the leather is about to rip off a bit at the end of the toe box, but this is the ordinary way a boot goes...
and the inside (white part) got some green stains on it (never had white shoes, so its hard to say, if thats normal...).
Overall: 8,3/10:
the x-boot ii is my first high end boot. so i havent got a possibility to compare it to other high-end boots. therefore i cant give it a 10 anywhere because i dont know if some other boot is better. the second thing is, that i totaly dislike the outside of the boot -> golden part (looking and leather...)
but the comfort/performance and the awesome touch with the inside and the upper foot makes this boot the best one ive ever had/worn.

Adidas Tunits
Aesthetics 10 /10
I have the green tunits and they are very stunning. When in the sunlight they flash and the real green color comes out. They don't get grass stains because of the material and the only thing you need to worry about is scuff marks. (you can get them off with fingernail polish remover) Overall they look class.
Value 7 /10
The tunits IMO are a little overpriced but you have got to consider that they can basically play on whatever field you want so it's kinda like 3 shoes in 1 but whatever. I usually only use my FG cleats.
Comfort 8 /10
The only reason I don't have 10 is that after a while (like a couple weeks) the ball of my foot gets sore due to the second from the big toe stud. You don't really notice in games but when you practice (we don't have a nice practice field) you really start to notice. None of the other parts of the studs dig in though. And when you play on game fields you aren't uncomfortable at all. I have the comfort insoles too.
Performance 10 /10
I don't know what I can say... These have got to be the best shoes for ripping shots ever made! You can strike the ball very well because of the front platform of the shoe. The shape of the striking surface really generates powerful shots. I take free kicks a lot and you can drive it over the wall or go for the finesse curve with no big deal. You also can volley extremely well also due to the surface area of the tunits.
Durability 10 /
