Peace
Peace all,

A very simple poll, which of the two finals did you enjoy more? either as a fan or a neutral? for me, I will never ever forget the 1999 final, it was amazing and sensational to say the least. As a neutral I also enjoyed the Liverpool and AC milan game, though I was rooting for AC Milan, and then atowards the end for some reason found myself wanting Liverpool to win, not becuase it was 3-3 or anything, but simply ebcuae as a football fan, that was an amazing final I have to say.

I still loved the Bayern and United final, no matter what!!

You Choose now..!

Peace
steveie
i hate man united and pool som im very un biased
imo manchester game was better to grab the win in the last minute was amazing and the bayern players faces man that was good
Mané Garrincha
The overall match between Liverpool and Milan was better. Nut the last 10 minutes of United Bayern were better imo.

I agree, the come back from behind is always a more attractive match to watch, being that there is a lot of tension on both sides.

Liverpool won an upset, and Milan simply could not stop the tie.. after that the PK's are more of a luck thing, so there is not too much glory on that.

Swifty
For United fans, it was that match vs. Bayern but for pretty much anyone else to watch a football match - the entertainment value of that final between LFC and AC Milan was amazing.
Spiona
LFC - Milan, that comeback!
I thought they where already toast and then Gerrard took control of stuff!
driyo
The 2005 one.. because it's more like the script of a cheesy hollywood movie than the 1999 one. And because I'm a liverpoolfan.
Stickman
The 2005 one. That was one of the best games I have ever seen and I don't like it when Man U win.
ricci
2005- great game by gerard.

2004 of course biggrin.gif

and portugal - england at the euro wink.gif /ot ;D
Pantera
They both sucked and they both were flukes.

lol sad

the 1999 was better IMO
Big Philly
Simple the 1999 final ... biggrin.gif

1999 huge fluke, 2 goals in last few minutes

liverpool came back from 3 (yes 3) goals down and then held out AC milan for another hour until penalties, Liverpool were a completly different team in the second half of the game

plus dudeks save in the last few minutes of injury time (pure class)

anyway this poll is pointless unless the opinions are coming from non-liverpool/united fans

You say that 2 goals are flukes but winning the tying penalty off a dive and then winning the match on penalties is not a fluke? blink.gif

There is a vid on this section showing the last 7 minutes of the 1999 final, watch it. The number of chances United had just in those 7 minutes, they were unlucky not to have scored at least 3.

The comeback for United was better. Which is harder to do, 3 goals in an entire half or 2 goals in 1-2 minutes? 'Nuff said.
OldPoem
Eh? What's the point of this poll ? Just to encourage flame wars between fans ?

As I always said United comeback is always on the card at least they need only a goal to force overtime. And when Bayern player still shocked they nicked another goal and won it.

On Liverpool comeback .. from 3 goals down is another matter... If another team wasn't AC Milan it might not turn out this way (because Milan seem to have mental block about that night in Riazor). But then they probably weren't 3 goals ahead came halftime.

So as a Liverpool fan ... I knew which match I already had in my collection and which match never was and never will.

Maybe just ask like this... if you had a chance to buy only one DVD of these 2 matches for your best friend who didn't get in to football, which would you choose? Probably better question which end up in same answers.

1999 was a big fluke laugh.gif ..2005 is way better no doubt wub.gif first.gif

Aywayz it seems way long back laugh.gif ..Everyone except man u fans cant remember the match tongue.gif ..but we havnt Forgotten Benefica vs Manchester united match laugh.gif

but were talking about AC milan, italians don't surrender a 3 goal lead

who cares the poll is shit.....
its gonna get no where except start a liverpool vs man united thread
Felipão
I am a neutral and didn't see the 1999 final so i voted for the 2005 final.
A biased opinion but an opinion none the less

dont vote in it then!

this was meant to be amature discussion, where we could tell our views, be it neutral or otherwise..

as for a liverpool v united thread...there's no contest tongue.gif United win hands down...

no seriously...strictly CL Finals only..!
ThierryHenry14
as a neutral, i can defintely say without doubt that Liverpool vs Milan was by far better. in fact, it is the best match i have EVER seen.
energy41
for me it has to be the 2005 CL final in which both teams played quality football and would have deserved to win as they both played one great half. the penalty shoot out was unlucky for Milan but as no team was clearly better it was the better game overall.
in the CL final only one team deserved to win and its obvious to every realistic person that it was not ManUtd who deserved to win.

and in the like 85 minutes before they were lucky that Bayern have not scored at least 3 goals, overall this was 1999 final had not a deserved winner.

how is it possible that United were unlucky that they haven't scored 3 or more in a match they should have lost like 2-0 or 3-0 looking at how both teams performed? blink.gif
there is obviously no need to say that United were unlucky in this game, only Bayern was.
Juanito™
I was a neutral for those games but i have to say i enjoyed the Milan v Liverpool match much better.
Sasho
as an United fan, I remember watching the game with my grandfather, and he was cheering for Munich the whole game, and it was a real good memory. Plus we won in a very dramatic way.

What liverpool did was very admirable but the memory does not stick with me as the United win sticks with me.
Dazza Flezza
If I answer as a United fan, it's definitely the 1999 final. I loved that match.

But I don't, so I have to say the 2005 final. It was a better game, plenty of goals and maybe more incredible comeback.

But the 1999 final was a miracle too. We should see more finals like these ones, if ManUtd isn't the team what against the comeback happens though whistling.gif
Adam_LFC
The 2005 final. Someone before said that Liverpool had a whole half to come back, and which they did. They then added that United only had 2 mins to comeback, but they really had 80 mins (they just delayed there comeback for the last 2 mins laugh.gif) . They had 80 mins to comeback from going 1 goal down, where as Liverpool had 45 mins to comeback from 3 down against one of the best defences in the world. The 2005 Champions League Final was the best match I have ever seen, and I think it will be the best match I will ever see.
ArsenalMan
Pool final never even had one boring minute could not even go to the kitchen to eat my dinner or go to the toilet thats how entertaining it was.

Without a doubt the Liverpool final.

1999 final does not even compare.
Felipão
I believe that is a biased opinion though, of course Arsenal fans are going to vote for the non-Man U option as it is a well known fact that both Arsenal and Liverpool fans despise Manchester United.
rusty
i enjoyed the man utd game more because at the time i was a united fan, and it just seemed more entertaining watching beckham at his best that whole tourny...

ever since beckham left man utd, i couldn't like the team anymore, it just changed too much too soon and i was teamless, but a short time after i already knew i liked watching owen play and gerrard was just an idol to me ever since beckham left the epl....so to think i would enjoy the liverpool final more, rite? not really, cuz the whole final i was watching it with my best friends who r all biased italians
46 Miles
Both great - 1999 for me.
F4Evo
i think they were both equally exciting, maybe 1999 just edges it, cos there was less contoversy about a fw decisions
Captain Gerrard8
2005 Liverpool - Milan... for sure...

Liverpool were dead and buried, and won the game against all the odds...
nobody gave Liverpool a chance !

Man U were still in the game even at 1-0 down...
Niran^^
2005- I was in tears after the game; not because Milan lost. I just couldn't believe what liverpool had pulled off and i have soft spot for the pool tongue.gif

Wow... you were in tears crying_new.gif ... i support Liverpool and i wasn't in tears... not even
at half time... i was very sad though when milan went 3-0 up... Well i guess i'm to old to cry (22)
at the end i was just in exterme joy clapping.gif

Wow, seems unanimous around here that people preferred the 2005 final, for me the 199 final, Liverpool had a whole half to get back into the game, at the end of the match United only had 2 minutes

Thats a bit of an unfair statement liverpool had from the moment Milan scored there 3rd and United had nearly the whole game because if my memory serves me correctly Munich scored early in the game but with that being said Uniteds was better because they beat them over normal time and they didn't cheat or dive

Where can I find this video????
RedDeus
we scored 3 goals in the space of 6 minutes
Peace
Yes but u still had a lot of time, true Bayern scored early, but towards the end time was running out and we clinched it.

Penalties are the worst way to end a final match!

ps - does anyone know where the thread to the final of 2005 CL is, I would be interested in reading what people had to say, I wasnt a member back then
Ananth©
If u ask me,whichs the better game then it is The Liverpool v Milan one, more goals, more entertainment....But which is the more dramatic comeback, then it is clearly Man Utd v Bayern,Man Utd actually won the game in the 90 minutes,Where as Liverpool just made it all equal...and plus the late late come backs and that to winning after bing a goal down and that in a final is a rarity, real rarity. So for me thats the better comeback.

The difference is that when you're 1 goal behind you know that you only have to score once. There's hope till the final wistle. Who had any hope for Liverpool when they were 3 goals behind against Milan? I, as a neutral spectator, thought the game was decided by half time.
