Easy now, was just wondering if FG makes a big difference in cold weather as my sg vapours feel kind of dangerous when the grass we train on is really cold and near iced up. Do FG's work well in cold weather and if so will i be able to use them as the grass tenders up during spring? or will i need to switch back to my sg's ?

A reply would be greatly appriciated

I usually were FG's in cold weather, but I have no SG's wink.gif but the FG's work well for me
Dervish
When you say they work well for you in cold weather does it give 100% grip without any doubts, because with the sg's on i feel doubtful at running at certain balls with full pace

summer9
well I don't really pay attention to that stuff, but I'm pretty sure they give me at least 100% grip, but go with whatever feels better for you

smile.gif coolio homio the reason im askin is because i dont own a pair of FG's and wanted you feedback on how they play up on cold pitches.

summer9
so are you getting those red legends, because those would look class
Dervish
yes a bit off topic but what you guys think of these smile.gif done em on nike id and for £98 looks like a fair deal? what u think of the colours i chose?

i dont know about fg's on near icy ground. saturday when i was playing whole match i felt uncomfortable ... the ground felt as if i was running on concrete with my fg's. im a winger/foward so i tend to use my acceleration to advantage but not that game, when i took off i didnt get a good grip and when i wanted to slow down i would kinda slip off balance if i tried to stop on a dime. im in ny usa and its like 25 degrees fahrenheit thats like -2 celcius.

thanks a lot really wanted to hear that cheers1.gif

wasnt too sure if fg's had the same effect in cold weather.

my sg's felt pretty warningly uncomfortable in cold weather.

I wear FGs when the ground is frozen. I remember a game last year when I changed my boots (from SG) a few minutes before kick off and I'm glad I did! Everyone else was complaining about how much their feet hurt after the game (as they all wore SG) but I was fine.

I was tempted to wear astroturfs for a game this year but I think FGs would have been better because there was still some grass there and it could have been slippery. The game was called off anyway.

when the ground is frozen i wear my HG supernovas, HG is mostly for comfort its just a little bit more comfortable when the ground is extremely hard.

FG will be lots better on frozen ground than SG will be, but as soon as the ground thaws you will want SG. On frozen ground, even FG will feel unstable, but it is a lot better than wearing SG. Like Bipolar Keeper said, HG is probably the best, but I don't even have a pair of those. I just wear my FG.
Where I am, it has been around -10 F (-23 C)! Yuck.

wow NEVER wear softground boots on frozen ground. even on dry hard ground. yoour feet will ache and get sore. if the ground is hard, wear turfs, thats why in most descriptions it says "for hard, surfaces or artificial grass"

thats right^

shoot -10 degrees, i hate playing in the cold. when i get out of college im moving to south flordia.

and its only like 30 here in tennessee.
sarrazin19
yea i played in 19 degree weather it was terrible not much the boots can do just short steps to make sure u dont slip lol
connor23
not only is it uncomfortable, its dangerous to wear sg on a frozen field... you can get a really bad rolled ankle blink.gif
zizou10-5
u can use fg in almost ne field bcos its so versatile.
In_my_element
I only have FGs and have to wear them on all types of pictures and they work for me pretty much all the time...

If the ground is frozen solid go with turf trainers. I played tonight to a pitch that was frozen solid and I wore my Mundial teams. It offered me better traction than anyone that was wearing FG's out there, but it was so icy and frozen it still didnt help that much. I would say I slipped only about half as much as the guys wearing FG's and my feet didnt hurt becuase my weight was spread out across the turf sole much better than they would have been in FG's

Thats Exactly what u need to do, Fg's on hard ground, SG's on wet, or soft surface's

what are you talking about??? I was trying to help by saying you shouldn't wear soft ground boots on a frozen field..... Getting a badly rolled ankle can keep you out for weeks so ya i think its important and plus what the hell is your post about... its not even helping the topic so stfu
