I have been looking at red/white Mercurial Vapor II's on ebay and i have noticed that some have just a plain white bottom and some have red on the bottom. I was hoping that someone could tell me why this is?

The one on the right are the ones that are released. Maybe the other one with the red bottom is the sample? Not quite sure.

Yeah, prob just difference between samples and final version. Happens all the time. Or maybe one is hg? Just a guess.

It can't be HG because HGs always have a one color sole if I remember correctly.

i think weve seen something like this before...the one on the left is a pic of the sample and before they came out they changed the color on the bottom

on my orange vapors the bottom is like the one on the left, only mine is black instead of red so are mine samples

i think all the orange ones are like that

I'm pretty sure the ones with the red bottoms are the ones that are out, picures from pro direct have them with red bottoms but soccer.com have them with the white bottoms, could be a US/UK thing?

It might just be different versions for different shops , like eastbay had those white/blue beckham pulses with white tongues instead of blue and if anyone can remember, I do, eastbay had the mist blue vapors with a white swoosh on the side instead of a navy one

i had 2 pairs of these and their both white soled

pds has a pic of the sample ones so theyre red on the bottom...

so the samples have red on the bottom, if so Nike should have kept them that way, imo

IMO i like the ones with the all white sole better.

I dont think the ones with red on the bottom are samples, because there are so many of them around and if you look on nikefootball.com the picture of them has red on the bottom. I think nike just make them different for each major country like UK and US as someone else already mentioned.

If anyone else knows why they are like this then feel free to explain.

Dont think so, pds/soccer.com/kitbag often have different pics of different versions of the same model. Like the wht/blk azt90iii's with the black phylon on the outside, instead of white which was eventually released as the retail version.

Where are there so many red sole ones around? Unless you've seen them in person its just cause lots of websites took pics of the samples, instead of the retail version.

Btw, red soles are heaps better.

Yeah, because if on the vapors you can see inside of the heel it has a sample mark and in other nike boots also

I just bought ones with the red sole of ebay, when they arrive do you think they will have a red sole or white, because the picture shows them being red, although the picture looks like a standard one (not taken by the owner)?

The ones with red bottoms are samples, you cannot buy them in any shop or online (from the research i ahve done). The one with the white bottoms are the final version. Pro direct soccer just forgot to update the picture from sample to final.
