Hi People

I haven’t played 11 a side football for nearly 2 years after injuring myself, so Ive been playing 5 aside football all the time. I would say I’m a very good football player, so its not like I’m not good, but I went to play on my old school field today for the 1st time in 2yrs. I felt so average, I couldn’t perform any of my skills which I can do on the 5 aside pitch, my shots were off target and all my shots were lots shots, I couldn’t seem to lift the ball and when I did it was to high.

Couldn’t anyone tell me what’s happening or how can I prevent this from happening?

I would like to know cause I have trails after Xmas

Thanks, Happy Holidays everyone

Well, your just probably a little rusty i guess, just keep playing - you'll get your touch back,

i can just say juggle the ball, take shots etc - just keep playing with the ball and you'll be back soon enough!

Im thinking its all mental. GIGO Garbage in garbage out. If you tell yourself that your playing average while you are on the field(garbage in) you will play like you are average(garbage out). Just keep it pausitive.

lol, i played my first footy game for many months and i was embarassingly out of fitness and lacked a lot of pace, i could hardly do any tricks, my touch was poor, my crosses lacked accuracy, my shooting was abysmal and I felt very average, it's obviously because of the complete lack of practice that i have had recently,

practice, practice, practice is my only advice
