Leeds suck -.-
I have the misfortune of living there.
The majority of fans, as soon as they went down into the championship, ditched the football, and went into rugby, fiver says if they get promoted they'll go back to football.

It was a pretty even first half with chances few and far between for both sides. After the break Leeds got an early goal and there only gonna be one winner from there. Their class told in the final half hour and it could have been more than four to be honest. Definately looking like promotion candidates on this form.

Shame about Plymouth, quite the opposite...

well i ain't from leeds, and plus i would say that they have got into rugby because of all the hype that surrounded it after england won the world cup, as alot of other parts of the country too. and plus rugby has become more 'fasionable' than it used to be.

and why did you come in here just to say leeds suck and slag the fans, we are at the other end of the line from chelsea who have ruined football with all your money.

for some news:

jonathon douglas has been given permission to play in the cup, after blackburn granted it to him, so he will now be legibal to play against wigan on saturday.

we have now hit form and i can see us winning out next 3 league games in january, as all the opposition seem simple

its funny to see leeds averaging 20,000 these days. when the team and club need the support 20,000 have turned their backs.

no doubt if they go up in the near future they'll get 40,000 again.

glory boys.

Erm course, last season we averaged around 30k and had the highest attendance other than a Sunderland game. This season the main reason for people staying away is the ridiculous season ticket prices, but then again as a hardcore Chelsea fan im sure you already knew this rolleyes.gif

i think most clubs are suffering from fallen attendaces... and inevitable if you get relegated you will loose a few fans, because you don't play the 'big' teams anymore...
Allan.
we won't be signing anyone in the transfer window untill until the end of it. we have rickets back from loan, as is too jermaine wright, and stevie stone

the main 'signing' blackwell is trying to do is extending the loan of lee miller, which should be done as i can't see man utd wanting him back

good draw the day

1-1

hulse scored one in the 87th minute
Allan.
brilliant performance from the lads today, unlucky to loose on penalties, but on paper we shouldn't have been given the chance at extra time or penalties.

liam miller should get a bit fitter, because i honestly think we could have won if he hadn't gone of as the result of cramp.

and what a goal by Kelly!!

and my favourite quote from the commentators is; "Healy will have that for breakfast, bacon sausage and egg roll please!" rofl.gif

Cant believe people always say that, Wigan have hardly added Prem Class players to their side since last year. Kavanagh, Teale, Roberts, Bullard etc were there last year. They sold their best Striker, Ellington, the players theyve brought in arent great, Johansson, Skoko, Henchoz,Connolly,Pollit are all lucky to be playing Prem football.Chimbondas been a good find for them though. We've been easily beaten by sides with more Prem class players like Pompey,Birmingham + Blackburn, so I wont read much into the result.

Still though it was a decent performance and to come back three times was nice. We should really have beaten them with the squad they have aswell as being at Elland Road, but at least its one less distraction to the League. Miller and Lewis were unlucky but the defending was awful, for both Roberts goals he was surrounded and no one got a touch. Kellys goal was fucking class though laugh.gif .

Easy 3-0 win Vs the Wendys aswell thumbsup.gif

Doubt it, will probably be a 0-0 bore draw. They might have scored plenty but since we've kept 3 clean sheets in our last 4 games not to mention Hulses goals having dried up. Hope its a good game though.

COME ON LEEDS !

Dont think we will do it considering we've still got Norwich,Palace,Reading,Sheff Utd and Preston still to play. At least Blackwells contracts up at the end of the season if we dont go up thumbsup.gif

QUOTE
Leeds United manager Kevin Blackwell has ended speculation over his future by putting pen-to-paper on a new three-year deal.

The former Sheffield United assistant has reinvigorated a Leeds side that was decimated by its relegation from The Premiership, all but rebuilding the side from scratch.

Chairman Ken Bates, who has been equally vital in the club's renaissance, says that the renewed deal is a reflection of Blackwell's inestimable contribution.

"I’m a big believer that if it ain’t broke, you don’t mend it,” he told the Yorkshire Evening Post.

“Kevin wasn’t going to be allowed to go anywhere else.”

Blackwell, who was set to fall out of contract during the summer, told the club's official website: “I’m delighted. I feel the club is only at the start of something good.

"I’m positive that we can go on and achieve good things."

He added that although it was nice to be linked with clubs presently plying their trade in the top-flight, he fully intends to be managing there soon - with Leeds.

“The other interest has been flattering, but there is nowhere else I would rather be than Leeds United," added Blackwell.

“I’m happy at this football club. It’s a great place to be and it’s a great honour to be manager here.

“I can look to the future now and we can make plans, but my immediate focus is on getting Leeds out of The Championship and back to where we belong - in The Premiership.”

Leeds United are being linked with a shock move for Dundee United striker Collin Samuel.

Elland Road boss Kevin Blackwell is keen to bolster his attacking options after losing Richard Cresswell to injury for the rest of the season.

Blackwell is believed to have turned his attentions to Trinidad & Tobago star Samuel as he looks to boost their promotion push.

Samuel's agent Raymond Sparkes insists he is unaware of any interest in the 24-year-old and that he has not had any contact with Leeds.

"I don't know anything about it [of Leeds' interest] as I have not heard anything," Sparkes told skysports.com.

"Nobody has contacted me about signing Collin.

"He only recently signed a new deal at Dundee United until 2007 and he has been playing regularly."

not a bad target really he is a good player, but for the championship, not for our prem hopes

Must win game tomorrow, reckon we will do them 2-0......... rolleyes.gif
Allan.
think they could be one of the hardest teams to beat int he closing stages, but no reason why we shouldn't win...

2-1 for us, can't see more than a goal in it, or it will be a very close game with two goals
Allan.

No not really, should be beating sides like Norwich at home. Second half performance was awful and with Palace,Preston,Sheff + Reading to play we might even finish in 4th. Still though a point is better than nothing, but it feels like a defeat anyhow.3pts behind with a game in hand sounds sexier.........
Allan.
damn... well at least sheff united lost...

I would just like to take this opportunity to thank the lovely people at Leeds United Football Club for the wonderkid that is Aaron Lennon. Thankyou

If you like him so much then give us some more money for him... Walcott moving for 10mil and lennon moving 750k is a joke if you ask me...

Crystal Palace denied Leeds United the chance to close the gap on second-placed Sheffield United with a 1-0 win.

Jobi McAnuff's strike just before half time meant Leeds remain four points behind the automatic promotion places in the Championship table.

The Eagles, meanwhile, strengthen their play-off position and remain fifth after Tuesday's victory in West Yorkshire.

On a cool and clear Tuesday evening, a lively Elland Road crowd saw an entertaining first half of football,
despite the quality of the playing surface.

The Whites started the brightest with some early pressure, but the first real chance fell to Palace and the ever-dangerous Andy Johnson.

The England striker took a Clinton Morrison pass in the Leeds box before eluding his marker and striking goalwards, but Neil Sullivan was equal to his effort.

Kevin Blackwell's side responded through a Gary Kelly free kick from the right, but Jonathan Douglas was unable to steer his far-post header on target.

Johnson proved a real threat for the visitors, with The Eagles nearly catching Leeds on the break.

However, the former Birmingham City striker's acute-angled shot ran across the face of Sullivan's goal, while at the other end, Leeds striker Rob Hulse put a weak header wide of the Palace goal moments later.

Palace's Michael Hughes kept Sullivan honest in the Leeds goal with a right-footed effort before Johnson was unable to connect with Ben Watson's dangerously low free kick from the left.

Leeds kept trying to take the game to their London-based opponents, but Palace goalkeeper Gabor Kiraly proved equal to their efforts, with the Hungarian making a brilliant save to Kelly's fierce half-volleyed strike following an Eddie Lewis corner.

The deadlock was broken two minutes before the break, as another Palace break saw Johnson set up McAnuff on the right-hand side and his low drive beat Sullivan to give Iain Dowie's side a half-time lead.

The second half saw Leeds having the majority of the play in a bid to restore parity, with American international Lewis firing a warning shot with an early indirect free kick strike wide of Kiraly's goal.

Leeds continued to huff and puff for an equaliser, but found Palace's backline in defiant mood, as Robbie Blake replaced David Healy in the Leeds attack.

The home side will wonder how Matthew Kilgallon did not equalise when his point blank header in front of Palace's goal was brilliantly blocked away by Kiraly for the best chance of the half.

Even a substitute debut from new signing Jermaine Beckford failed to make dividends, as Leeds missed a major opportunity to move even closer to The Blades and automatic promotion.

Shit game, shit performance, shit result. Why he started Healy is beyond me, considering Blakes done well on the right. Healys hardly started this year and to throw him in from the start for such a big game was wrong. Still though they shouldnt have won, and Johnson wasnt a threat like that report says, he had a chance or two and missed them, both sitters. Also why take a striker off for another then a few minutes later throw a bloke on whos only ever played semi proffessional football before. Hope Sheff Utd stay second or they will beat us easily like they usually do in the playoffs.
Allan.
fuck!!! damn i am start to think u (d-block) is right now, we can't keep counting on sheff uts loosing, because well we need to win now, and being fourth aswell doesn't help
Allan.
ok d-block, you win, we're hoping to win the play offs now! no chance of no 2 spot on the other hand, watford did loose smile.gif

Hmm, lost today but not suprised with 8 players rested for Fridays first legt play-off against Preston.

Can't say am all that confident with our form of late sad.gif

Seems we set out not to win, Palace with Morrison,Freedman,Johnson would be too much for our defence over two legs. Think we might beat Preston with a full side.

We averaged 30k last season. 36k Leeds' fans were present for the match against Plymouth Argyle! Our team is much much better this season than it was last season, so the Glory Hunting argument must go out the window. Maybe it is the fact that the many tickets cost 45 pounds!

And how many Plymouth fans? About 3k/4k? That's awesome away attendance, for a trip like that. Second best fans in the country down here (second to Pompey).
Allan.
We should be winning, all over them.

Ciao second half is starting!
rabbidogg
Sorry D-Block, but I had to say something about Nugent scoring!
Allan.
Was a good goal, but Kelly should have dealt with it in the first place. Good free-kick from us also, the wee/big scuffle at the end will make tensions high for the next leg so will be something special. And was nice to see Creswell back. Should have scored in the first half!
rabbidogg
Yeah great free kick from Lewis. Good scoreline for a neutral, waiting for the second leg! biggrin.gif
Allan.
Oh yeah and blatent penalty 3 mins into the game, wtf was that cove on! (ref and that preston player)
D-Block
Yeah I knew he would he score after us dominating the 1st half, hitting the bar, clear penalty claim turned down. His goal was pretty lucky, must of bounced off around 5 players, shit defending though and shit keeping by Sully. Davis + Mawene got away with murder today, everything went against us,shit referee. Saying that though we were shit aswell, Crainey with his usual hoofs.Couple of pluses though, 442 and Cresswell + Stone back. Good chance for us as they cant now sit on a lead at Deepdale. But Seriously WTF was the ref on blink.gif mad.gif
