MetroStars midfielder Michael Bradley and Indiana University star Lee Nguyen are reportedly close to sealing moves to Heerenveen and PSV Eindhoven, respectively.

According to Big Apple Soccer, the MetroStars are deep in discussions with Heerenveen, who originally got a close up look at Bradley during a training visit last January.

Belgian holders Anderlecht had the teen pro in for a trial in December, but appear set to lose out to a club flush with Klaas-Jan Huntelaar money.

Metros general manager Mo Johnston admitted that he would not interfere if the youngster was leaning towards a European move.

Bradley started 30 games for the New Jersey crew last season, notching a goal and four assists.

Meanwhile, Dutch daily De Telegraaf reported Thursday that Nguyen, who is still training with the club despite it being past the time allotted for his second trial, is not much more than a medical away from linking up with the Eredivisie champs.

If signed by the Farmers, he will likely begin with Young PSV holding aspirations of teaming up with US wing ace DaMarcus Beasley in Guus Hiddink's senior side.

Nguyen, who made two World Youth Championships appearances for the US Under-20's last summer, was named the Big-10 and National Freshman of the Year after pacing the Hoosiers with 12 assists.

Executives from both teams declined to comment to YA this week, as is common with Eredivisie transfer policies.

I think that Nguyen at PSV is a great fit and he could really excel, could be a great player in no time

bradley isn't making a bad move either, although i think he could use more MLS seasoning.

I've heard the Nguyen rumors before but this is the first time I've heard about Bradley. If Nguyen can work out the details, I think its a good fit for him over there.

It's official now. Nguyen is at PSV. Great news.
fakemadrid
Awesome for Nguyen and the nats, not great news for Indiana. Their top prospect gone after his freshman year, ouch.

I saw Nguyen play a U20 friendly against Canada. I was impressed with him. He definitely has potential. Hopefully he can clime the youth ranks of PSV. thumbsup.gif

Yeah, there was a ton of recruitment hype about him last spring.

Lee was man of the match in a 2-0 loss for the PSV youth side at some Cup.
Report is up at yanks-abroad.com.

he plays defense right?
Joshinho
He's an attacking player, I believe. How good is he? Much potential. Too early to say how he'll pan out.

From what I can tell, this guy will be great for both USA soccer and PSV Eindhoven. As of now he is doing very well with the reserve team, playing left mid. He makes good runs down the flank and has some nice moves to get around defenders. He has only played for the first team once as a sub, and played solid actually, but that was against Heracles Almelo, not exactly a class sqaud. With a lot of players leaving Eindhoven this summer, Nguyen should find a place in the first team. Guus seems to like him as well, so he seems to be eager to play him, assuming he will still be with PSV next season.
Trung
how old is he?

17 right...very young?
Preki-USA
19, he went to Indiana before he went to PSV
Trung
hmm..good luck to him in psv

even tho i really wanna him to play in the mls

so i can watch him week in and out
