Please Help Our CampaignMake Hitzfeld the first manager to manage in the premiership in the past 100 years!!!
Hitzfeldforthetoon.com Ottmar Hitzfeld is available, having been away from the game formally for two years to spend time with his family. If he brought the success to NUFC that has followed throughout his career, he'd go down as a Newcastle United legend. A new manager should be popular, yes; but nothing gains popularity among fans more than winning, and Hitzfeld is a born winner.
If this 'campaign' of ours can somehow coerce the club into looking his way, to run the rule over him, then we will at least know that the club thinks like we do - that only top quality managers will do and that's all we want, a top quality manager, preferably Hitzfeld
Cheers Guys!!

Don't get me wrong, I like Newcastle and I think very highly of Hitzfeld, but the chances of the two coming together are very slim. Your best bet would be to make HIM be interested in the club, because they wouldn't pass up on him. If he comes back at all, it's more likely gonna be a club like Real or ManU.

Agreed with DWY, in case that he comes back which I doubt somehow I am pretty sure that he would only sign for a very big club, can't see him going to a struggling club like Newcastle.

Both of you are ignoring what Hitzfeld said himself.
he said he would like a challenge of a smaller club.
energy41
Feb 10 2006, 01:17 PM
But we know that Hitzfeld was in the rumors for other clubs or even national teams that are among the top teams and refused anyway to take over.
To me it seems like he is either done with his job and would like to finish his career or he is waiting for the big opportunity to take over at such a big club like ManUtd etc.

Ok, haven't heard that. But a smaller club could also be a smaller club in Germany, or Austria/Switzerland (don't remember where he's from!?). Why venture to a land, which language he barely speaks. Unless for the added challenge.
But I agree chances are slim that he will come back at all. Imo he likes his new analysist job, which he's pretty good at imo.

He is from Lörrach I think, south west Germany, worked in Switzerland as coach I think.
If he signs somewhere I could imagine it could be at newcastle, not really a smaller club but a nice challenge. I can't see no motivation for a challenge though.
I don't think he would join a smaller German club. Hitzfeld who won the CL twice at Nuremberg, Bielefeld or Hannover? Can't imagine that.
Zayne
Feb 10 2006, 04:16 PM
Yea, but right now Newcastle would be equivalent table-wise of Bielefeld or Hannover. Traditional club maybe, but you can't argue with Nuremberg or Cologne being the same.

Feb 10 2006, 04:36 PM
The England challenge could give them the advantage, I just don't think that Hitzfeld would sign his last contract at a club that is weaker than his previous clubs Bayern or Dortmund.
Somewhere where he has never been coach before seems way more likely to me. He could prove his skills there once again, he has no need to do it in Germany anymore.

Only options in England though are imo: ManU, Arsenal and Chelsea. No way Mourinho is going anywhere and Wenger has signed a new contract for another hundred years...

That leaves ManU with Fergie's numbered days. Hitzfeld and Ballack there next year would actually be a challenge for Chelsea. But it's not gonna happen. (99%)

I think Hitzfeld will be our manager by the summer

He wont budge wenger mourinho or ferguson,i think he knows that himself.#
P.S - he can talk english as i watched his interview

Trap spoke German too.

Still good luck though.

Hopefully Hitzfeld won't say "I have ready" while he is in England

.
Credit anyway to all those who speak foreign languages well

.
I can't imagine that a fight for an Uefa Cup place is what Hitzfeld is waiting for, wouldn't mind to see him at Newcastle though.

Still remembering Lothar's English attempts when he started in New York.
"I hope we get a little bit lucky..." But at least he admitted it:"My English is not so good."
energy41
Feb 11 2006, 02:43 PM
Yeah, "my english is not well, my german is better" - I had that quote on my sig for a while

.
The language shouldn't play a too big role in Hitzfelds decision IMO.

Hitzfeld is pretty determined to coach a team after the world cup... and laguage shouldnt be too much of a barrier as he took his time to learn SPanish and English better in the past 2 years which also hints a move abroad... and I must say Newcastle has pretty much tradition so they might be an option if he'd like to coach a smaller club.

Very true, simply a legend, just look what Bayern won in 2001 and Dortmund in 1997(?)

.
Legend stuff to win the CL, hopefully we will see him back somewhere.

Only coach to win it with two teams...
energy41
Feb 13 2006, 03:05 PM
And both with german teams, respect.
Also 2 of the last 3 major cup wins for german teams, other was Schalke.
2 out of 3 title wins at San Siro, gotta love San Siro since the CL final 2001

okay, bumping and old topic and maybe alex, you can change the subtitle. i just felt like we have no topic on him and then i found this one, so no need to open another one really. but the subtitle might be weird...
anyway, since rumors about him becoming the swiss national coach keep holding, he was asked about it and he said that he would also like to stay with bayern. hoeneß said in another interview that he feels hitzfeld is the right man for bayern and that they would love to keep him over this season ahead. me, i personally would really like that.
hitzfeld also said he could imagine working as a tv expert again, like he did in the past. i am not sure that would really make him happy, but then again after he took that little break from working as a coach he came back better than before. i really think he suits bayern really well and they work together like a good oiled machine.
he also said some words about poldi, like that he is very happy he could play 90 mins for the NT but in the form toni and klose are he will have to be a bit more patient. well, i guess he cleary said that right now he is only the 2nd choice.
HERE is the link, just in german, but i tried to point out the most important stuff in this post.
what do you huys think? hitzfeld to stay? *if they can´t get mourinho

* or should he leave because bayern needs fresh air?

I think it could depend on what Bayern achieve this year. If they win the Bundesliga and Uefa Cup then it should be a brilliant time for Hitzfeld to say farewell to Bayern for good. I'm sure he would love to win an European competition with Bayern again. The earlier he manages that, the earlier he could be off.
When it comes to the Swiss NT, I think the only possibility for him to take charge of them could be after the Euro 2008. Probably he doesn't want to be a coach anymore after the next World Cup, so the possibilities of becoming the Swiss NT coach are not that big I assume.
I'm not sure whether the Bayern needs a new voice. Right now they surely don't. But who knows how things will work next season or so.

well, looks like he will be gone after this season, at least thats what he said, more or less. and now people guess van basten will be next at the bayern side, since he will leave the oranje after the euro... i do not like the sound of that at all...

Even though he doesn't speak German... I would take Mourinho if I was Hoeness.
He's a top draw manager and would give this team a push, not sure whether van Basten or so are similar good so it would be good if Bayern at least try to go for Mourinho, I think.

HITZFLED - I WILL LEAVE BAYERNOttmar Hitzfeld has confirmed he will be leaving Bayern Munich at the end of the season.
The Bayern coach returned to the club less than a year ago and is under contract until the summer.
There had been suggestions that he could extend his stay at the Allianz Arena, but Hitzfeld has opted to quit the current Bundesliga leaders.
"I made my decision known to the club's officials three weeks ago," Hitzfeld told SID sports agency.
"I want to leave the job at the end of the season.
"I will now do all I can to win trophies for Bayern in the time left to me."
Hitzfeld is now expected to become coach of the Switzerland national team when Kobi Kuhn leaves after Euro 2008.
Swiss national team delegate Ernst Lammli has confirmed that informal talks have already talken place, while Bayern's executive manager Uli Hoeness expected Hitzfeld's departure in the summer.
Looks like he wants the Swiss job and perhaps a less chaotic life.

The Bayern bosses don't hesitate to criticize Hitzfeld when they are unhappy with Bayern's latest results and probably Hitzfeld, who won everything with Bayern except for the Uefa Cup and who is a proven manager of course, has enough that. Plus, he's never been a NT manager so this might be a nice challenge for him as well.

Hitzfeld can't be bothered to take all the criticism after a few bad games anymore, fair enough I have to say.

Hitzfeld deserves to leave Bayern with a trophy and I hope it will be the Uefa Cup.
