Eto named African player of the player

I was surprised Eto'o won by only two votes over Drogba coz I don't think Drogba is anywhere near Eto'o in terms of quality.

I completly agree with you Maurice. Although Drogba proved some of his worth at the African cup of nations he isn't anything like Eto'o at the moment.
The latter is scoring more goals than any other european striker and from any area of the pitch. He's very talented and him coming third in the wrold player of the year awards says a lot about him.

He deserves it fully though, and to think that he's only 24 years old still! I really hope he has a long, successful career at Barça.

Kinda stupid if you ask me...Eto'o already had world's best player mentions...Drogba is successful already-we know that....the award should have gone to Ahmed Zaki for Egpyt who made the winning goals for both semi final and final games.

it was funny cuz he was a WPOF contestant and he beats drogba by two votes for best in africa...i found that very funny
