Why not just close the other thread and open it up when it the match starts? No need on wasting perfectly good space by spamming with another thread on the same topic.
Everyone was taking it as just a banter nothing more - stop being so serious. A forum is just for enjoyment - no need to act like a police.

If you lot didnt resort to calling each other 'dicks' 'twats' etc there would be no need to close the thread. The childish actions of the posters in the original thread made this happen, you were all given a warning which you did not heed.

Does Flamini has the ability to play left back ? Backham wont be a threat to him as he doesn't dribble but Cicinho is .
Pires reveals Real admiration
Arsenal midfielder Robert Pires has revealed that he was a Real Madrid fanatic in his youth.
The French schemer is in the Spanish capital ahead of Arsenal's UEFA Champions League clash on Tuesday with the Madrid giants.
With Arsenal short of both form and fit players, the consensus of opinion is that it will take an almighty effort from Arsene Wenger's side if they are to escape from the Bernabeu unscathed.
While Arsenal's young players will have to adjust quickly to the atmosphere in one of football's most illustrious arenas, hugely experienced Pires admits that the occasion - against his boyhood heroes - is one of the highlights of his career too.
''To play against Real Madrid is the pinnacle for a professional,'' Pires told AFP.
''When I was a boy it was my dream to play at the Bernabeu but I have had to wait 32 years.
''But now I will saviour it. In my youth I loved Michel because of his elegance and I tried to imitate it.
''I said to myself that one day I would be his replacement and I wanted them to nickname me 'Michel'.
''The chance is now there for us to show we are still a great team and it should be a fantastic match.''
Brian.

Beckham may not be able to beat a man but given a bit of space he can hit crosses in from deep. Pires if he plays on the left should shoulder a lot of defensive responsibilty to help out Flamini, if not the Centre- backs will find themselves very busy.

We have no other choice other than Flamini left back realistically.
I agree with Brian. Whoever plays left wing will definitly have to track back and help defend, same goes with right wing.

Wenger has said he will not hesitate to bring on Theo Walcott if he feals at any point in the game he can make a diffrance in our attacks Wenger clearly knows Walcott is a special player and was strongly hinting that he will make his debut tommorow. Wenger had that grin he usualy has when he is about to do something so i think he will feature.
What a debut for a 16yo, against Real Madrid in the Bernabaue.
For one so young Imense abilty truely he has got. <Yoda philosophy

I also expect Reyes will have to start Pires will not be able to defend v Cicinho cos of obvios pace/age aspects.

Me two i didnt think it was 2 bad ne ways lets not stir it up cos this will prolly get closed aswell.
I have a respect for Madrid there a big club but im suprised some fans didnt show it back to us Gunners.
Ne ways im relishing this tie cant wait i believe its our destiny to win the Champions League in the final season at Highbury it is the last cup we need to grace our Marble Halways at Highbury.
And I also believe this tie is, to show despite us having a hard time we will always battle on and be the best that we can. Its clear to me that the Champions Legue is ment for us this season thats why we have no other Cups to distract our focus from the clashes of Europe.
This is our chance to make our mark on Europe and Show we our more than Just the best in London and England over the last 5 years but also that we will be the best in Europe fore the future, its Arsenals time, Makr my words its Gunners future.
Little overthe top but i feal its there for us, no teams physical enough to stop our passing game in the ECC and i dont see how our attck will fail to score vs any defense in the Europ.
Cumon the Gunners.

time for alot of our players to prove there the best, i think it will be a day to mark the future success of Arsenal.

Now thats the hard part!! I just know Real Madrid are going to try and gun us down and finish off the tie before the 2nd leg, they know that A: we are not on the best of form, B: are missing many starters, C: will have most players back come the 2nd leg, so all i can say is Arsenal be ready to fight this one out, it will certainly be a tense game to watch on behalf of arsenal fans...

Diaby is not cup-tied and will almost certaintly start. Without him, we were over run when facing Liverpool. If we want to have any chance, we have to mix it up because we can't expect the side that faced Liverpool to even draw. Ljunberg should not be in the starting role no matter what - i'd rather even have us put Walcott in there. It's not like we have anything to lose by dropping Freddie since he has been below par all season long.
The midfield should be;
Fabregas----------Diaby---------Gilberto----------Reyes
We're more stable like that.

^I'd be over the moon if we can come away with only a 2-1 loss to be honest. Only 1 goal behind and we have ourselves an away goal, which means we only require a 1-0 at home (of course the likelihood of us keeping a clean sheet at the moment with our defence agains Real's attack is very minimal but surely a 1-0 is not as daunting a task as requiring a 4-0).
Having said that, I really can't see us conceding less than 3 so I'll be generous and give us an away goal.
Prediction then is a 3-1 loss for us, same as Bayern away last season. Just enough to at least keep the tie alive coming to the home match where we still have a chance.

Erm excuse me Cicinho, do you ever predict Zaragoza thrashed Real 6-1? Huh? KingHenry14 you make the point there about Diaby but if you want to win this game; Arsene gotta takes the risk. He must play the inexperience Diaby. He has to play Walcott. I think Wenger isnt "blind" to watch performance of Gilberto and Ljungberg this season. Gilberto knows how to talk ONLY. Ljungberg knows how to complain but I think he did his best on the pitch somehow its not good enough. Nobody knows the way Walcott play thats would be a dangerous threat to Real Madrid's defence. I think he could make his debut against THE REAL. Anyway I just that excited. When I woke up, I dashed to the computer to visit the forum here. LOL. Eh, personally i'd rather he just embarrass Madrid and stay in England, but thats just me

Anyway, Ronaldo's declarations today might cause unrest in the Madrid squad, or at least set up an aggressive atmosphere at the Bernabeu. Madrid however, should prevail in Spain, whether they'll do enough remains to be seen as the tie at Highbury will be a different story with Cole back, v.Persie most likely back and maybe some others.

I assumed as much,
if Arsenal manage a performance guaranteeing them either an away goal, a draw, or a loss by a one goal margin, they can very much overcome Madrid at Highbury.
Wenger has come out stating that Arsenal needs Henry to shine tomorrow, I wonder how he'll take this added pressure.

Wenger's comments annoyed me. Henry already has a tremendous amount of pressure on him to perfrom with the added responsibility of being a captain - now Wenger goes public added to his pressure even more. If Henry at least had RVP, i wouldn't care that much since Van Persie actually has a better goals/minutes ratio than even Henry. He could have taken off that pressure for him but now with VP injured, the only real striker we have is Henry.

I too wondered about the tactical/mental benefits of his comments, and they seemed unwarranted as Henry seems to crunch under pressure when he doesn't have the players necessary around him IMO. The van Persie loss was a huge one, talented forward Arsenal have in their ranks. It'd surprise me if Walcott got the start, seeing as Bergkamp didn't make the trip and Reyes just off injury, is it a huge possibility, or will Wenger gamble on playing Reyes?
If Wenger was even slightly interested in winning this leg, Diaby is a must-start.

Should be interesting to see what both Manager's put out on the pitch in the first leg.
Madrid have so many attacking midfeilders to use, who knows who will start in those attacking positions.
As for Arsenal, they've been so up and down this season with their squad, I don't think anyone could tell you their starting line up and be correct.
My prediction is that Arsenal will go through. Madrid look much more impressive on paper but for some reason I just think Arsenal will edge over the line.
