This man is unbelievable, after a big 2-0 away win over Cologne, he hi-jacks the PA system and leads the Gladenbach supporters in song.

Nice and impressive!

I like this guy.

He didn't look strong at all against Germany - at least schweinsteiger's and neville's goals are his fault and were not unsaveable...

I believe it was a very similar goal from Germany against the Netherlands in the Euro 2002. So Van der Sar is a weak keeper?

I don't see how you can pin any of the goals on Keller. Schweinsteiger's goal would have required an incredible save. That type of ball is VERY difficult. The goal keeper is frozen becasue he must anticipate a head ball.

Those type of balls are very problematic for a keeper. If the keeper plays the ball to the far post, he leaves the ENTIRE NET EMPTY for a head ball.

I don't see how anyone could have stopped Neuville's shot. It was a great shot.

are you serious?

Schweinsteiger's cross was damn near impossible to handle, and Neuville's volley was just retarded.

if you want to nitpick about Keller's performance, you should probably criticize his reactions on Klose's goal. to be honest, i was half expecting him to make that stop myself, but Klose just put it away, pure and simple.

Those type of balls are difficult for goal keepers though. Van Der Sar had the same problem as Keller on the Schweinsteiger goal against the Keller.

The ball comes in at an angle, mid-goal, it is far enough off the line that it makes it very difficult for the goal keepr to get to it and it is very risky for him to go to the ball because then he can be beaten very easily. The keeper is frozen because he has to hold the middle of the goal for that flick from an attacker, but then the ball is past him into the far post if he does not play the ball.

Very difficult ball to play for a keeper. Each time a goal like that is scored, I blame the defensemen...they should clear the ball when it is played through the 6 yard box.

True, true. Teams often make the mistake to hold an offside line in that situation, that makes it harder to clear the ball in the 6th yard and to run into the ball like attackers will in that case, is way easier. Panic situation for a goalkeeper.
