These is this guy on one of the local teams that my team occasionally plays against. He has one of the best accelerations I have ever seen. He can probably do 10 meters to my 5(I am faster than average).
problem for me is that i am usually the one who has to mark him and it is very very difficult. I just cant keep up with him. He runs all over the ground with double my speed and never tires out. He can get into all the open spaces and then pass on without me ever getting close to him. Nobody on my team blames me for anything cuz everbody knows that there isnt much that anyone can do to stop him.
But I need help. I want some advice to know how I should stop him getting so many balls and get close enough to him to tackle him.

well mark tight on him, lol lol Michale Johnson lol lmao, not too tight but enough so he doesn't really escape with a turn, lol man i really wanna c dat guy, u make him sound liek a machine, if hes rite footed, stay goal sided, so if he turn to the left he will be more away from the goal n if he turns rite u'l be able to nick the ball away from him. Try to train physically as well.

Umm best thing to do to cope with a pacey guy is to use physical force on him.

Mark him really tightly. Bump him before he takes off, keep annoying him and as a last resort, grab his nuts really hard when the ref's not watching

well the way you talk about him i'd say to bring him down...might be dirty tactics but if you can make him hit the deck cleanly in tackles..well that would be the best option imo
do it as early as possible in the game as well so he gets put off for the rest of the match

what you have to do here is to close the distance between u and the ball if u know what im saying...dont look at him always look at the ball..
i used to be fast but even after 1 year off soccer i got back and faster guys than still cant go past me.. becuase i try to leave as less distance ass posible..
CLOSE THE DISTACE!! remember that

dont let him turn you and make sure you react faster than him and youll be fine, use abit of physical force to rough him up

ha. But just use good defensive position. Play really physical and my favorite grab his nuts.

At the end of the day you cant do jack,Im one of those players you mentioned in my team and the defense has no chance even with a fit defender on me,the best you can do is to make it a defensive effort and switch between defenders as he moves around the field because know one can be man marked for 90min, sooner or later someones going to slip up and thats all it takes

well try to improve ur acceleration and learn how to use your body to close the distannce or not give mike johnoson distance to move or to pass the ball, or wait until he makes a mistake

i know this is really the worst way. but i'm 16 and i play with 18+ and when me or someone else is making a fool of someone or running them out. they tackle them so hard. it sucks, i hope you get faster and smarter and don't resort to that.
