I think Drogba is bringing the image of African players into disrepute ranting.gif. A few years back it was Diouf with his dispicable spitting habits...now the man from Ivory Coast even has the audacity to admit that he cheats!!! (diving and scoring with hands). I've never been a fan of the guy and this is just fuelling my dislike of him. thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif

Not the brightest bulb either. Making comments like that in the media?! How many refs are going to give him the benefit of the doubt now?
olumide
Drogba is simply an idiot.....now his head is big because he plays for Chelsea.......how and why did he become the Africa's second golden boy.............you know I really do hope that his career goes the way of Diouf.....there are so many good footballers in West Africa..........he is only the taste of the moment....hopefully
The ball is always clean
I dont think he is shining a bad light on African players. He is just one players that does it. ref dont think all african players do it.

I admired Drogba at Marseille but now he's just getting on my freakin' nerves.

Nobody like'd Drogba before he admited to cheating, he's not doing himself any favors..

I hope Chelsea off-load him to a small club in the summer, he's not Premiership quality.

you got to appreciate his honesty! laugh.gif

amen to that, he played better over there too.
MattM4
He's a show man, and just thrives on being the centre of attention. No justification for his attitude though. There's nothing more frustrating than talented players that could be absolute legends decide to play like complete wallies.
Gunning IV Glory
This guy is an idiot but he doesn't make African players look bad. Drogba doesn't have the status in football to represent African players, he deserves no such privelege Maurice. smile.gif

How could someone like Drogba represent the African footballers when there's players like Kolo Toure around...absolute top guy he is.
Greatness

i agree with everything u just said...he just makes me dislike him more
griffie
Not too bad as a player but his personality in the game sometimes brings him down. But he is human and not by any means perfect. of late, he has tried to stay on his feet more and has performed better than people give him credit for
23 Carra Gold.
I do not think of his reflection on African footballers at all. I just think he's a dity diving scummy Chelsea Player.
andrew.lvp
When he first came to Chelsea i liked his heading and goals...now he's an idiot ranting.gif
Ese Vato
No offense to anyone, but this guy is an idiot. How he is going to do that?
I don't think he represents African players in football at all.

There's Kolo Toure, Eto'o, and Essien.
These are real World Class players that represent African footballers.

He' s one of the best assisters in the Premiership and extremely important for Chelsea these last two seasons .

He was not very wise to tell this to the press , but he's a footballer not an intellectual , and i think honestly that referee will forget about what he said and probably already forgot that wink.gif

I like Drogba because he's faithful to his club ( Marseille where he comes very often and that he didn't want to leave at all costs until the board showed him the exit for such a great amount of money ) and country (unlike Salomon Kalou ... ) and that is rare in the world of football , added to that he's a frank person , not a hypocrit like many in their interviews that didn't make the mistake he made .

Agreed, Dog-ba has nothing on the above.

Hmm, Essien and Eto'o aren't exactly the greatest ambassadors of African football either. I've seen Eto'o spit in the face of another player and Essien has committed two career threatening challenges in his first Premiership season.

Exactly , Essien is a potential leg breaker every game ,we were always worried when he was playing at Lyon , always put the leg in the contacts , got tons of yellow cards for that , very dirty player , and added to that he has very little faithfulness to a club , he went until refusing to play with his teammates and penalizing his team just for his own interest , he even lied openly to the press and fans which was very embarrassing for him before leaving and gave him a very bad image in France .

He's very selfish , remember when he told Ghana he was injured for the ACN , when 3 days after the ACN was over he was fitter and running faster than ever ? he didn't want to lose his place at Chelsea ..

Drogba personality wise is all the opposite , frank , all for the team , respect for the shirt and fans , way brighter . Well it's my opinion
fanatic
It is a shame on Drogba, in his first season he was impressive in the last quarter of the season, but this season, he has been disappointing overall this season, very rough, cheating, diving and misses easy chances. It is better for him to go back to Ligue 1 champions may be will shine better and restore his pride
andrew-lvp
yeah maybe Mourinho's 3 changes includes him XD

I think hell would have to freeze before Jose Mourinho lets go of Drogba...everyone knows he's his blue-eyed boy rolleyes.gif
Cantona
And Lyon would never spend 35mil on a player , you can be sure smile.gif

Also Drogba said about a hundred times to all medias here and he said it again recently that in France there is only one club for him : l'Olympique de Marseille .. he's a small legend there since he did extremely well when he was there .

L'OM asked Chelsea last week , they would dream of having Didier back , but the price of Chelsea is way too high (press said not less than 25M€ ) and Robert Louis Dreyfus , the president of l'OM is not ready to spend so much money on a 29 year old , with 25M€ Marseille can buy about 5 good young players , and not sure they can afford that much money too , it would be a great sacrifice for the club to spend so much , they are not very rich .
46 Miles
^ Agreed. Even Chelski would be pushed to blow 35m on such an average player.

Some of today's papers do report that he's actually desperate to return to France...can't remember which paper I read that in though.

Wouldn't surprise me. The english press haven't exactly been kind to him (not that I think any of the bad press was unwarranted). But I think he gets extra heat because of his price tag and because of the ill will toward Chelsea. That said...I wouldn't be surprised if he is keen to escape that media "attention." The English media can be relentless.

Fed-up Drogba eyes European move...

Apparently he prefers Serie A...
